Slytherin Quidditch Team Try-Outs

Larissa heard the Professor's instructions and duly noted them. She looked over to the two Slytherins trying out for Keeper. Larissa grabbed a quaffle and smiled at Azerail; she'd decided to try-out against him. Tucking the quaffle under her right arm, gribbing her broom with her left hand, she mounted the Nimbus 2001 and, after a second or two, she kicked off, sailing into the sky and stopping inline with the center of the pitch. "Right, then," She whispered, focussing on Azerail and the hoops behind him. She didn't doubt his skill as a keeper would be something spectacular, but neither did she doubt her skill as a Chaser- A position she had played many times before. Admittedly, her strength was in gaining possession of the quaffle but she had scored a few amazing goals in her time.

Larissa leant down hard on her broom, speeding in the direction of the North set of goals. A smirk was on her face. Not necessarily a smirk of confidence, no, more a smirk of determination. She loved Quidditch and she had often considered taking it up professionally. However, she knew her loyalties for the future, lay elsewhere.

The wind whistled past her ears as she reached the hoops. It was not a move she often used but it had scored a lot of her goals; Larissa turned at the very last minute, spinning and sending the quaffle soaring towards the right hoop at full throttle. If there was one thing Larissa like about Quidditch, it was the sheer violence of it all. She adored the adrenaline rush and the satisfying 'oof' as someone took a bludger to the stomach.. or a Nimbus '01.

Aleyha snorted and she coughed under her breath, "Gryffindor cheerleader." Aleyha flashed Theodore a smile, and she grabbed a bat, then slipped a pair of gloves upon her white hands. Theodore knew that Aleyha was lethal with a bat, and now she could focus her anger into hitting a bludger. Aleyha had too much anger for someone as small and angelic as she. Mounting her broom, Aleyha soared high into the air, avoiding the other players as well as Theodore. Now, no hitting anyone. She couldn't help but think that that Crysin girl would be a suitable target. Alas, blazing red eyes focused on a black bludger as it soared into the sky. Aleyha narrowed her eyes, and she focused. She would need to keep her head straight if she were to make the team. This was no different.

With a bludger in sight, Aleyha zoomed toward it. She smirked viciously, picturing the attack. To assist her, she pictured the bludger to be someone's head instead of just a ball. Swinging the bat, the bludger and bat cracked and soared far, far away. Aleyha beamed, and she felt her arm muscles working, as she flew off in another direction, aiming for another bludger. With a swing while mobile, the bludger and bat collided, and once more, the bludger soared out of distance of the other players. She was decent. Aleyha continued to do this, for a total of fifteen times, loving just the feel of the wind while she bat against those vicious creatures.

Aleyha assumed that she had proved enough to Professor Styx and she descended and landed on the ground, with her broom in her hand next to Theodore. He really did look pretty hot out there, beating against the bludgers. Aleyha smirked, and she watched the others. She thought that she and Theodore had the easiest of drills. Though her arm would be thanking her later. It was not nearly as weak as before, but she knew her limits. Which was why she wanted to push them so badly. Aleyha did in fact want to be on the team. She felt as though she could fray from getting in trouble so long as she was on the team.

Azerail kept his silvery eyes upon the Part-Veela Prefect - though he didn't know she had any Veela blood in her of course. They were in the same year, and he knew her from classes. From how much he observed, he would need to keep his head. Larissa was a strong one, not one to underestimate. Azerail had natural Quidditch blood in him, as Jaken had been Slytherin Keeper in the past, and others before him. All positions. Only one stuck out to Azerail, and that was keeper. Azerail flexed his fingers a bit, his knuckles cracking, preparing. Azerail was ready to see what this chaser had.

Seeing her soar toward the hoops didn't bother him, nor intimidated him. However, his eyes focused on which hoop she was going to try for. A tricky one? Maybe. Azerail remained at the center hoop however, but his body could lean either side and guard the other hoops as well. The quaffle soared, and Azerail leaned over, the broom moving, and he snatched the Quaffle just before it went into the hoop. Azerail breathed out a sigh of relief, and he tossed the quaffle back to Larissa. He gave her a small smile, one that was for 'better luck next time' in a kind way. Azerail just hoped that she didn't pull those moves all the time. How else was he going to predict her moves?

Adira heard Professor Styx give instructions and she nodded as she looked around and nodded at Larissa a Fellow Goth Gang member.
Adira remounted her broom and picked up her Black Beaters back from the ground and gripped it tightly her Leather Glove responded as her grip tightened on her bat, kicking off the ground Adira shot up into the Sky, her Hair flew back as she Soared up into the Sky, Bludgers were her aim.

Adira felt the chill of the cold air on her stomach and she leaned forward to hug the broom, she dropped one of her legs to do a quick turn as she heard a Bludger grumble as it soared through the Crisp air towards her, With a Swift swing of her arm she cracked her bat against the bludger and it shot off in another direction keeping clear of any of her fellow team mates.
Adira watched some other players fly around and Adira moved to flank Larissa before pulling off and hovering looking for the other Bludger or the current one which was pissed off.
Adira knew that from experience she had to keep close to some players as the other team would send bludgers at them, hunting the bludgers was good, but it was no good if your players were getting knocked out of the sky because of it.

Adira noticed another Bludger growling as it soared through the air, the sound of the bludger was quite amusing as it grunted and growled to itself seeking its revenge, she could have sworn they knew you after a while and plotted there revenge they always seemed to know who to strike on the team.
Adira shot out from her position like a bullet out of a gun, she flew on the left side of the bludger and swung her right arm back hitting it as she passed making it follow through in its direction but altering its course down towards the ground.

Adira continued to fly and did a barrel roll banking right before she leveled out and waited for another Bludger to present a threat.

Larissa watched the quaffle. It was going to go in.. going in.. going in.. But at the last moment, Azerail caught it. Larissa clenched her fist and thumped it against her thigh. "Argh! So close!" she breathed to herself before tilting her broom to aid her catch. She caught the quaffle, immediately tucking it beneath her arm and doing a full, three hundred and sixty degree, turn. She was facing the hoops again, targeting one. She sped toward the hoops, clutching the quaffle tightly as she leant forward to gain speed.

And now came the trick. She targeted right hoop again, and in such a convincing way. She moved her arm as though she was about to throw it through the hoop- But at the very last moment, she switched and aimed for the hoop. Again, she found herself watching the quaffle flying through the air, hurtling towards the hoop.. Could she do it? Would she score a goal now? She was desperate to get on the team.

Milena heard the guys advice, obviously he was also trying out to be a Keeper. "I think that's the signal she thought, she then flew up in the positioning herself to north. The other students were fast and mostly likely enjoying the game. Guarding the hoop she opened her eyes widely assuring she was in the right angle to block the hoop. Still no one seems to notice she was there but that didn't stop her from doing her job. Milena's grip on her broomstick was tight, tight enough to move freely. Still in search where the Quaffle may be.

Hoshi had her hair slicked back in a tall pony tail that made her angled eyes seemed even more cat like than they normally looked with her make up off. Hoshi had been late of course but she had come just in time to hear Professor Styx tell them what to do. For once Hoshi kept her mouth shut. Hoshi could not usually control her mouth around the professor but she was not about to risk a maybe spot on the team because of her goal to rebel against all athority.

Hoshi walked up to the professor and bowed her head slightly. "Watanuki here trying out for keeper." She said with a wide smile then went to hang out by the bleachers. There already two in the skys gaurding the goals so there was no reason for her to be up there as well. When one of them whimped out then she would take her spot. Azerail was good but the La Fleur girl seemed a bit floppish. Not a good trait if they where going to go against Gryffendor or Ravenclaw. The two houses had exeptional teams and would crush anyone who had even an inch of doubt in their hearts.

Hoshi continued to observe the would be team from the ground. If things didn't go well Hoshi would be an alternate again. She didn't mind, it only meant that she would have to get to the pitch earler the next time try outs where out. She saw her friends play and knew that they would keep their spots. They where good and had gotten here on time to take thier spots.

Azerail couldn't help but laugh when he saw Larissa's determined face. He was having quite the time really. However, the trickery Larissa pulled off was nothing short of amazing. Azerail never saw it coming. It went through the hoop, and he swooped to catch it before it descended even more. Throwing it with one arm, he hurled the red ball back to Larissa. He could tell, really, that Larissa would be an excellent chaser. Now, to keep his eyes opened again, and he guarded the hoops once more. This time, he would not allow another one to go through the goal. Azerail was determined, and if he did make it on the team, then maybe... Maybe he wouldn't be tricked again.

Kalif had been watching out of amusement, and once Aleyha and Theodore returned to the ground, he nodded at them, motioning them to take their seats. He had seen enough from them. When another student arrived late, making that two that got him rather irritated. It would be against them however if they did not earn a spot on the team. They should have gotten here on time. Kalif spoke, coldly, "Ms. Watanuki, instead of trying out for Keeper, I want you to take a quaffle, and go against Milena. If she doesn't guard one, even once, trade her spots. Only then would I even consider you upon this team."

Tardiness was a pain. Kalif folded his arms across his chest, gazing over at the progress of the chasers and Azerail. He kept his eyes peeled for all of the activity. All of this, it would be hard to pick out the line-up. They may all have a position on the team - either permanent or an alternate. Kalif was not for sure yet.

Although Milena knew the other students were not approve of her joining the try-outs she didn't care at all. She was determined to guard her hoop at all means. She then heard Professor Styx talking to Hoshi, something about taking a chance on her. Milena watched as Hoshi tried to take a opportunity. Waiting for Hoshi to shoot the Quaffle, Milena knew she was ready to guard the hoop keeping her eyes wide open.

Alyss nodded briefly at Professor Styx's directions and kicked off with the others. When she saw Larissa head over to Azerail, she went the opposite way towards Milena. Even though the others had began straight away, Alyss had been doing it in a more cunning way, a faint smirk on her face. She wasn't the type to just go forward, that was more a Gryffindor way. She thought about it first.

She had been hanging back, waiting until there was a chance that Milena had been distracted, and when Alyss saw Milenas eyes on the girl that just arrived late. Alyss shot forward on her broom, a small smirk on her face as she feinted to the right before shooting towards the left hoop, a fast spin on the Quaffle which was spinning fast in a clockwise direction. The Quaffle was aimied right in the middle of the left hoop. She hoped that it would get in.

Just before Alyss could smile that the Quaffle came through in, Milena glared at the ball blocking it away from the hoop.As if dodging the Quaffle, as hard as she can the Quaffle immediately went east. Just as she hope the hoop was shape, she looked at Alyss then gave a grin knowing she was somehow defeated. Milena's eyes were now focus on the other players trying to attempt to shoot the Quaffle inside the hoop she was guarding. She was ready to play the real Quidditch game as everyone did. Milena might be a newbie but still she didn't cared at all.

My freaking eye is not compatible with font colors like Milena's, I have astigmatism and the fon't color hurt's my eye really badly. Could someone edit her post? like Professor Styx or Global Mods or Admins?

Ally stopped scoring hoops on the other side of the pitch as someone late came, it was Hoshi, one of the goth gang. She wasn't a fan of goth's but she likes them, as she resume on scoring goals, Ally decided to score on the other side where a second year named Milena was guarding the goal post. "An aspiring keeper, ehh? Let see what you got." Ally mumbled at herself and came speeding at the young girl, her quaffle was tighly placed on her right arm. Lucky, she was balancing perfectly on her broom with one hand on the broom handle, as she was getting nearer, Ally made a right turn for the girl to not caught the quaffle and toss it on the center hoops.

Hoshi again practiced self control. So she was a little late but then he had a point. There would be no mercy if you let in a goal because you got there too late. Hoshi heard what Professor Styx said then got on her broom. La Fleur was a nice girl, the kind of girl that Hoshi would normally hang out with if she want to Glam even then she would anyone a chance. This wasn't about friendship though. This was about making the Quidditch team for the first time in five years.

Hoshi watched as another in the sky and thought that they where playing a bit as if they where playing for themselves. If one wanted to win at Quidditch one had to play as a team. As Alyss aimed for the second hoop Hoshi came up and caught it only to raidly aim for the right on a slingshot move that was meant to throw off any keeper. "Alyss-chan trust me and we'll score. You too Ally-chan." She said with a bright grin. She turned back to the hoops seeing if her little ploy had been effective.

Milena was focused looking at the two girls who seems to be wanting to take her down. Her eyes were wide open, as the Quaffle was about to enter the Hoop she blocked at hard as she can, giving her a energy. Right to left, up and down she was eager guard the hoop as she can. Holding her broomstick tight and her hands was ready to block it.Milena's legs were tied to the broomstick making sure she wouldn't fail.

Larissa thrust her fist in the air in a celebratory fashion. She smirked at Azerail, near enough standing on the stirrups of her broom, both arms in the air as she caught the quaffle. A pretty cocky move but Larissa had enough self-confidence to pull it off. Catching the ball, she pushed it under one arm and sped towards the hoops. What was going to be her 'star move' this time? By the looks of things, nothing. Larissa seemed pretty content in what she was doing.. But at the final moment before she would have to shoot, Larissa lifted the quaffle above her head height, and dropped it, timing perfectly so she could hit it with her broom tail. The quaffle was whacked hard, sending it straight towards the center goal with great velocity. The sort which, if taken to the head, could knock someone out.

She had seen his keeping ability and Larissa was ready to bet that he caught this without fail, that he would avoid serious injury on impact. And she couldn't help but think about what would happen if the quaffle smacked him full-on in the face. Larissa would be in trouble, for starters and she would probably lose her badge. Still, the violent world in her head made her give a slight smile which glistened in the sun-light.

Azerail waited slightly, as his eyes caught the other girl trying out to be a keeper up and rearing to go. Azerail could only wish her luck. The next shot came, and with force enough to knock someone out. Azerail braced himself, tensing his muscles as he swooped in and caught the quaffle with both of his hands. The force of the quaffle sent him a bit back, but not into the hoop. Thankfully. Azerail grimaced a bit, feeling a tingle in his chest. Azerail glared down at the quaffle. Azerail threw the quaffle back to Larissa, and he called out, "You have quite the force behind that quaffle, Larissa." Azerail released a sigh. Things needed to get lighter on him. Wow, if he had many more of those, he would be knocked out.

Hilde heard the instructions given and took to the air after the snitches were released. She took her normal stance up in the air as soon as she was at the right height. Emerald eyes scanned the skies for the little winged golden nugget, determined to be the first to get her snitch. Slowly, she began to move about the pitch, making a large circle above the pitch.

Before she even thought was possible, she spotted a glint of gold. "No way. That is just too easy." Diving after it, Hilde closed in quickly on the golden snitch, dancing along the grass. As it started to dart away towards the end of the pitch where the hoops were, she snatched the little winged ball in her hand. She shook her head in disbelief that the snitch was that easy to get, but flew over to where Professor Styx was and landed. She walked to him and held the Snitch out to him, not sure if he wanted to collect the golden ball or if she would be able to keep it.

Kalif spoke to Theodore, and just to him, "I want you to round up everyone. Inform them that try-outs are over, and to look at the bulletin board if they wish to see who made and didn't make the cut. If they wish to stay, by all means. Otherwise." Kalif turned on his heel, and he left the pitch, already knowing whom made and didn't make the team in his mind. Those who were late however were not in Kalif's best interest or top priority. Now, to think before he decided completely.

Theodore turned his head in the direction of Professor Styx and carefully listened to the directions the man had given him, once the man and finished the Half-Veela nodded his head quickly. Letting his emerald green eyes fall to Aleyha for a moment he then immediately got started on rounding everyone up to relay the message to him given by Professor Styx, he wasn't exactly sure who had gotten the positions and everything but he could give a wild guess that mostly everyone would have gotten the position they tried out for. "Hey everyone!" She shouted and motioned for those who were still either in the sky or not around the area to come over to him, he would rather get this done quickly because at the moment a nap sounded really awesome to him. He waited patiently until everyone was close enough to hear him and everything before he started to speak again.

"Tryouts are over, you can stay here if you wish but it will be on your own time. Check the Bulletin Board in the Common Room to see who made the team and everything." He stated, giving them all the information that he was given himself by their Head of House. Once that was finished he walked over and grabbed his Quidditch supplies that he had brought to the Pitch and turned to them one last time. "Later guys." Theodore stated with a half-smirk before he slowly started off the Pitch and towards the Castle, he vaguely wondered if Aleyha was going to stay or if she was heading inside too.

After Ally made her goals, she heard Theodore shouted that try outs are over. Ally flew down slowly and unmounted on her broom, she then went at the quidditch equipment box and put back the quaffle in her arm. After putting back the quaffle in the box, she took off her robe and untie her hair for the breeze to sweep it out. 'See you guys later." Ally said to the others and waved, she's going towards at the great hall to see the cheerleading try outs if it is getting worst or better.

Hoshi frowned somewhat when she heard that try-outs where over. She hadn't gotten the chance to prove she skills as a Keeper yet but she sighed. If she ended up being an alternate again she would live with it until the next school year started. She would work hard over this school year to prove herself to the team then come back as a Keeper. Hoshi floated back on to the ground where she waited for both Adira and Larissa so she could talk to them about what the line up would look like. She was already working on what she was going ask them to do this year. It was their fifth year which meant they only had two more years to make a mark on the school before they had to leave it forever.
