It's made of wood, I suppose
Ford walked onto the Quidditch pitch nervously. This was to be the first practice of the Slytherin House quidditch team, and we curious to see his team together for the first time. Decked out in his quidditch gear and broom in hand, Ford walked to the center of the pitch to wait for his team.

Katrina had heard that they would be having Quidditch practice today, so she walked down the hill toward the Quidditch pitch. She was nervous. Even though she had spoken to a good percentage of the Quidditch team members, she didn't really know many of them. Taking a deep breath, she walked through the gate and entered the pitch.

She was overcome again at the vastness of it and smiled despite herself. She had just purchased her quidditch gear and a quaffle, both of which she had brought with her. She had had a Firebolt since the previous year, but hadn't really gotten around to flying it much. She carried the Firebolt over her shoulder as she approached Ford. "Hey!" She called, still smiling.

Zoe was excited to be starting practise for the first time on the Slytherin team. She had her quidditch goggles, and gloves on, and her Scarlet Streak in her hand. Going from through the changerooms, and onto the quidditch pitch, she saw that Katrina and Ford were already there. She was hoping to get to know Katrina a little more, for the previous year, she had been very quiet.

"Hey Ford, Katrina." She said, as she walked towards them.

Katrina smiled in return to Zoe's greeting. "Hello." She couldn't hide the fact that she was excited to be playing on the team, but still tried not to act foolishly. Her parents would have been ashamed of her if they had seen how she had acted in the Common Room a couple days earlier. Even still, she was happy to be involved in something and to be making new friends.

Sophia was torn as she walked down to the Quidditch Pitch. As much as she loved Quidditch she was unsure as to how Ford would treat her at this practice. She was no longer angry with him, but instead quite sad that he seemed unforgiving. Unsure of how to approach him and quite afraid of how he might react, she had stayed away from him thus far. No escaping this time.

Stepping onto the Pitch Sophia stopped on the edge and set down her Emerald Streak. She pulled her hair back into a ponytail and scanned the Pitch with her golden eyes. It appeared that about half of the team had arrived thus far.

Donning her Quidditch gear Sophia walked to the center of the Pitch where the others were assmbled. She stopped near them, her broom under her left arm. "Greetings," she said in a neutral voice to no one in particular.

Kale walked down to the pitch and through the gates of the vast arena. He took a look around and was happy to see that he wasn't the last one there and holding people up. With his Sienna Storm strapped to his shoulder and gripping his beaters bat he slowly walked toward toward the others. "Howdy." Kale waved and nodded to the others, "Is Blake the only one we're waiting for now?" he inquired.

Blake walked onto the pitch with his Emerald Streak, but due to his lateness in buying the rest of his quidditch gear, that seemed to be all Blake had brought. As he made his way over to the team, he spotted Sophia and thought she could use the company, seeing as he knew she and Ford were still on bad terms. "Hey Soph', guys," he said as he made his way over, standing next to Sophia, and nodding at everyone else.

Ford had been lost in his thoughts for a bit, but came back to the real world to see most of his team there, "We are missing Veronica," he said, then continued to nobody in particular, "Until then, you can mingle." He then looked over to Sophia. His anger had disappeared in the past two weeks since classes began, leaving him now mired in confusion over Kaela and Sophia. He nodded to her before returning to his own thoughts quickly, so as to keep his cool in front of everybody, and especially Sophia.

Sophia was glad to have Blake's company on the Pitch, but she turned to him with an incredulous look on her face. "No offense, but I would prefer to not be called Soph'." Kiera had called her the exact name during Quidditch last year. Why did everyone want to shorten her name?

As Ford spoke Sophia watched him with a void expression. She did not want to give away any of her emotions, as she was still quite unsure of his. When he nodded to her it took all of her might not to smile as she nodded back. Sophia then turned to Blake, as they had some time to talk to each other.

"I see you decided to try out. What position are you playing?"

Zoe looked, and saw that Sophia, Blake, and Kale had come. She figured that Kale and Sophia would be on the team, they were both really good. She hadn't seen Blake, or Veronica play, but she guessed they would be good, since they had been chosen.

"Hey Kale, Sophia, Blake." She said, quickly, waiting for Veronica to come, so they could get started.

((sorry guys but i wont be coming on the site for about a week sorry, :( ))

"Alrighty," he said to Sophia, laughing a little, "I'm a beater."
"Anyway," he said turning back to the team, "I don't think Veronica will make it for practice..."

Nothing was really going on at the moment and Kale didn't want to just stand around when he could get in some precious practice time on his broom. Kale mounted his Sienna Storm and kicked off the ground, at a high speed he took a couple of laps around the pitch as he waited for practice to begin.

"Alright, everybody," Ford called out dryly and waited for his team to return to him, "This is the first practice of the Slytherin House Quidditch Team. I'm not going to waste time on pleasanties," Ford declared, "By the next practice, you are all to have purchased quidditch gear and brooms. No exceptions." He turned to Blake and Kale, "You two must have beater bats, additionally, by that time." Ford stopped and picked up a quaffle, that was sitting on the ground, "Until we have some beater bats, we're going to play some quidditch with this quaffle and naught else. We'll split into two teams."

Ford gave the slightest of pauses, such that one would have to be listening specifically for it, to notice. "Sophia and Blake, your are with me as keeper and chaser respectively. Zoe, Kale, and Katrina will be the other team, with Zoe as keeper." He scanned the group, "Everybody ready?"

Blake listened as ford gave instructions, giving him a curt nod to show that he was following. Blake mounted his broom and waitied for further instructions.

Katrina nodded her head and smiled. She knew and liked both Kale and Zoe-Hope so this would be comfortable for her. Still smiling, she threw a leg over her broom and kicked off, though hovering only six feet from the ground while she waited for the rest of the team to get going. While she was still up she called to Ford, "I got a new Quaffle if you wanted to use it." Though she wasn't sure what he would need two Quaffles for. Stupid! she thought to herself, hoping that the warmth spreading in her face wasn't visible in the bright sunlight.

Zoe nodded her head, and mounted her Scarlet Streak, and flew to the hoops at one end of the pitch. She hadn't played as a keeper before, but it was just practise. "Bring it on!" She said jokingly to Ford, Sophia and Blake.

Kale descended toward the ground as Ford began his speech, hopping off his broom he stood and listened. Setting his beaters bat down, he put it back in his pack..."Guess we don't need this today then." Kale said quietly, bummed that no bludgers were going to be released. After Ford had spoke he looked over at Zoe and Katrina, "You guys ready?" he called while mounting his broom and kicking off into the air again.

Sophia gave a solemn nod to Ford and mounted her Emerald Steak. Kicking off she zoomed immediately to the goal posts she was to defend and began circling in front of them. She kept her golden eyes on the field before her, alert and ready to move.

Zoe kept hovering in the middle hoop, so she could try and defend all three at the same time. She had seen Estrella and Sophia play a little before. She kept her eyes open, waiting for the game to begin. "Yep, I'm ready." She said, with a little distraction in the way she said it.

As his team readied themselves, Ford rose up into the sky, quaffle in one hand, circling. When everybody was ready, Ford flew into action. He pelted off in Blake's direction, and seemed to be going on a trajectory that would lead to a collision. At the last moment, though, Ford veered downwards and tossed the quaffle in the air so that Blake could catch it.

Katrina excitedly zoomed upward to join in the games. Without much of a warning, it seemed the practice was in full swing. She laughed despite herself as her hair whipped around her face. Thankfully, she was going fast enough that the rushing wind ate up her laughter.

As she was circling the pitch, she saw Ford throw the Quaffle to Blake. She wasn't sure if she should do it or not, but Katrina thought she could use the defensive practice, so she leaned forward on her broom and flew between Ford and Blake. Stretching as far as she could, she grabbed hold of the Quaffle and excitedly flew in the opposite direction toward Sophia. She couldn't see Kale or else she would have passed it to him.

She continued flying as fast as she could toward the goal posts, but thinking she had finally spotted Kale, she threw it in his direction.

Kale followed closely behind after Katrina for the most of the time when he finally got to her side as she had the quaffle. When she passed it to him he caught it with ease and chucked it toward the post that Sophia was guarding. Kale watched the quaffle soar toward the goal and hoped to see it go through the hoop, while turning around on his broom.

Blake watched as Ford threw the quaffle at him, and reached out to catch it, but unfortunately, Katrina zoomed between them and caught the quaffle instead. Blake geared up his broom and took off after her, and watched as she passed it to Kale, who went for a goal. Blake then quickly intercepted it, made a sharp turn and zoomed off down the other pitch. Hoping Ford was somewhere behind him, he turned to look over his shoulder, and threw the quaffle high into the air, praying that Ford would catch it.

Zoe watched as Katrina did a risky thing, and stole the quaffle from Ford, and passed to Kale who shot on Sophia. "Go Katrina! Go Kale!" She cheered excitedly, but still paying attention. She knew Sophia as good, and was glad of that too. Soon it would be Ford and Blake heading her way.
