Felix didn't write home a lot, his family could be overwhelming and he liked using his time at Hogwarts to get a proper break from them, but every now and again he liked to touch base. With such a big family there was always some news, a cousin showing signs of magic, a new business deal that would either increase the family fortune, or increase his fathers time away from home, or both, and with so many of his older relations in relationships of various degrees of serious, there was always the threat of a wedding on the horizon. Felix was just glad there wasn't any older siblings in his immediate family, otherwise his mother would go wedding crazy. She had been bad enough when his eldest cousin go married the summer before last.

Clutching his letter Felix made his way into the owelry. It had taken him a month to craft the reply to his mother's last letter. Last he knew his father was still away in China, his younger brother was flying around on his first broomstick, his baby sister had said her first words and his cousin was considering popping the question. Who knew what a month had done to these events, his father could be back, and the family could be preparing for another wedding. Felix used to enjoy weddings but it seemed like a Warrick family wedding was becoming an annual event, and they were quickly becoming boring. Felix found himself a school owl and attached the letter to its leg and sent it on its way. He paused before making his way out, taking some time to remember the last time he had been there.

Layla's family was close. She actually enjoyed spending time with her entire family, including her aunts, uncles, and cousins. She knew her mother hadn't always known they were family, but they had been around during Layla's entire life. Family gatherings were wild and hilarious, and they seemed to all want to spend every holiday and special occasions together. Her mother and Aunt Kiera were insisting that they have a wedding party for her Aunt Katheryn, who accidentally married her fiance in Vegas, as soon as the school year ended. Her mother had sent her yet another message about the party to which Layla had written a short, annoyed message in response. She had just sent it off with the owl when she turned to leave. The brunette ran directly into another student as she was leaving. She tripped and landed on the dirty floor on her backside.

"Oh! I am so sorry!" Layla said, quickly standing back up. She brushed the dirt off and looked up at the other boy. He was older and she didn't know his name. He was very cute, and Layla wished she hadn't made a fool of herself in front of him. "I'm such a klutz. I need to pay better attention." she said, scolding herself.

Thinking about the last time he was in the owlery brought up mixed feelings for Felix. It made him think about Saveli and how fun she had been when they first met, how much fun they had at the Yule ball and how much fun they could have had. But it also made him think of Gabriel and how he had made her feel and of finding her curled up on the floor of the owlery not sure what to do with her life. He liked to think he had helped her that day but he wasn't sure, he hadn't had chance to check in on her since that day.

Making his way towards the exist he felt someone barge into him, he looked down and saw a younger girl on the floor. She seemed flustered so he grinned and laughed it off to put her at ease. "Don't worry about it, you pretty much just bounced off me anyway," He smiled and helped her to her feet. "Hey it's ok, it happens to the best of us, this entrance doesn't exactly have a good line of sight to who's coming out," He brushed a hand through his hair as he gave the girl a quick once over. She was definitely younger, maybe in the year below and pretty, she was very pretty and if he was lucky, she would be drama free. "There are worse things than pretty girls falling at your feet you know, I'm Felix by the way," He laughed hoping she didn't take his comment the wrong way.
