With the upcoming NEWTS, Baron decided to stay for a few more days at school before going back home. He wanted to get some peace and quiet practicing his spells before facing the hustle and bustle back at home. He even asked for some time off from his ice skating shows, something that was understood by his dear mother. He wondered if Kace already went home but he promised his twin they would switch in the middle of the holiday to spend time with the other parent.

Wandering the corridor with skates on hand, he picked a spot, he pulled out his wand and started flicking it, various shapes appear. He was getting the hang of nonverbal spells although wandless was tricky. He smirked, proud of himself as he continued conjuring one object after the other the moment it came to his mind. Thinking he had enough and gaining more confidence, he flicked his wand upwards, making snow start to fall. He loved the snow and ice, hence the nickname Ice among his skating peers. He leaned against the wall, watching the snow touch the floor. He just hoped the corridor would be deserted enough so he could not get caught.

Ever since the Hogwarts Monthly article about the lake creature had come out, Weston had decided he would renew his search for the eel. Over the past year and a half, he'd mostly watched the lake from afar, trusting that Indi would eventually capture a photo of it. But it seemed she hadn't had any luck, so it was time to take matters into his own hands. He couldn't believe that the school newspaper didn't know about the man-eating eel, and as soon as he got his hands on some proof, he would be sending "Sydney Townsend" an owl.

"Do you think stupefy would work against the eel?" Weston asked Indi as they made their way to the entrance hall. He had his wand in his bag (along with the Hogwarts Monthly issue and a pair of goggles), but he wasn't exactly looking forward to getting into the water. The lake looked kind of gross, and of course, he didn't want to get eaten. They rounded the corner, and Weston's eyes grew wide when he spotted an older student leaning against the wall. "Wow, is that snow?!" he asked, momentarily forgetting about his eel-finding mission. Weston held out a hand, grinning as cold flakes landed on his skin instead of disappearing like the stuff at the Yule Ball. He turned to the older boy, eyes bright. "Did you do this?"

((godmod approved))

Indi wasn't thrilled about having to spend her holidays at school but it wasn't like she had much of a choice. Both her parent's were going to be gone to conferences or whatever most of the break and it just made sense for her to stay. She had tried to be optimistic about it and figured it gave her free reign of the library while everyone was gone. But she hadn't been alone exactly. It appeared Weston was also hanging around and as eager as ever to try and find the eel in the lake. It wasn't like she had any better things to do, or at least anything this engaging so she agreed to tag along. "Probably, If you're strong enough." she answered with a shrug. It was a stunning spell after all and nothing she had read mentioned any kind of limit to just how big of a creature it would stun. So in theory....Indi stopped short when she heard Weston yell something about snow and not even a second later she felt the cold herself. "It...looks like it." she said slowly and blinked as she spotted an older boy she recognized from her dorm leaning against the wall. Indi frowned and waited for his answer.

Just as the thought crossed his mind, Baron heard voices echoing down the hallway. They did not sound like professors or caretakers so he was not worried although he did not really want some company, annoying company that was. He kept conjuring snow from the ceiling and glanced to his left when he heard a voice spoke up. They were a pair of first years, one from his own house. "Yes, it's snow.", he politely replied, flicking his wand once more. The floor was already blanketed with at least an inch of snow. "I guess there's nobody else around here, right?", he jokingly said. His shoes playfully kicked the snow as it piled up near his feet.

The snow was accumulating quickly, and Weston held out a hand, watching in fascination as the snowflakes drifted into his palm. Though he was dressed for the summer weather outside, the cold didn't bother him. He was too busy reveling in the magical snow; he had never seen so much of the stuff in one place. "They should hire you to do the snow at the Yule Ball!" He'd spent the last two dances trying to capture the snow as it fell, but it always disappeared before it could reach him.

Weston shook his head, a bit disappointed the castle was so empty. "Should we go find other people? We could have a snowman building competition." He had always wanted to build one. Using his feet, he pushed the snow on the ground around until he had a small pile before standing atop it. "Hey Indi, look, I'm taller than you!"

Indi was already questioning what she was doing here before they had stumbled into the snow and she sighed. "That would probably a better use of all this." she said and crossed her arms over her chest. She hoped the older boy knew a quick spell to clean it all up since she was fairly certain this kind of thing was frowned upon, and it wasn't even like there were that many people around to see it anyways. But she had to admit staying at school over break had its advantages if it meant they could still use magic. Indi rolled her eyes as Weston claimed he was taller than her but she cracked a smile anyways. "You're nearly taller than me anyways." she pointed out and hoped he would be too distracted as she bent down quickly and grabbed a handful of snow. She didn't waste time packing it into a ball before throwing at Weston. He was close enough it still got all over him. She let out a loud laugh, proud she had been quick enough to land the first blow.

Baron just smirked at the boy's remark. He knew his knowledge of snow would come in handy but he was busy gracing the dance floor with his and his girlfriend's presence. He watched them frolic in the snow, not concerned if their noise would attract people, especially professors. He flicked his snow, making a patch smooth. "Wanna see something cooler? Check this out.", he said proudly. Concentrating on the smooth bank of snow, he aimed his wand, making the snow smoothened even more until it turned to ice. Now there was a small ice rink in the middle of the corridor.

||Apologies. Work and life have been busy.||

Weston was so busy enjoying his newfound height that he didn't notice what Indi was doing until it was too late. "Hey!" he squawked in protest, shivering as the snow started to melt against his skin. He bent down, scooped up an armful of snow, and tried to toss it back at Indi. At the sound of the older boy's voice, Weston looked up, eager to see what could possibly be cooler than this.

He watched wide-eyed as the snow flattened into an ice rink. He took a tentative step on the ice, noting that it didn't crack. "Wow, could you skate on this stuff?" Weston took another step but quickly lost his balance, his limbs windmilling about. At the very last second, he managed to grab hold of a nearby suit of armor, keeping himself upright — for now, at least. "I think I liked the snow better," he said, still awkwardly hugging the armor.

Indi let out a loud laugh as Weston threw snow back at her and she shivered as the sudden coldness tickled the back of her neck. "Ugh get it off." she whined while still laughing and shook out her arms and hair to get most of it off of her. She paused when the older Slytherin boy announced he was going to do something cool. She raised and eyebrow and waited expectantly. With an announcement like that she was expecting something truly impressive. Indi watched as the snow on the floor turned to ice. It wasn't that flashy but she took a few steps toward it and tentatively placed a foot on the slick surface, careful to keep her balance. The ice was nearly flawless which was what she found the most impressive. "Not bad." she said with a shrug and laughed as Weston flailed around and nearly fell. "Careful! I don't want to have to drag you to the hospital wing." she called out to him.

The boy was impressed but not as much as the girl. Typical. A Ravenclaw excited about the snow and a Slytherin trying to look cool and not react excitedly over something uncommon in school. Shrugging, he tapped his shoes, a trick taught by his ice skating coach, blades forming underneath the soles. He tested them out, satisfied with his work. He then started to glide toward the center doing so flawlessly as if he was just taking a walk. He spun once he reached the center, perfectly coming to a stop with his left foot. "If you want, I can put blades on your shoes and expand the ice.", he offered. They did not really need to be friends but he did not want to be a total show off to the younger students.

Weston had intended to wave off Indi's concern, but as soon as he took one hand off the armor, he nearly fell again. "It's so slippery," he muttered. And then a bit louder, "I'm fine!" He didn't want the older boy to make the ice disappear. It took some awkward maneuvering, but Weston managed to turn so that he was leaning against the suit of armor and no longer facing away.

Weston gaped as the older student skated towards the center before doing a spin. "Yeah, do mine too!" Weston said eagerly at the boy's offer. He grew a couple centimeters as blades were added to his shoes. The effect was a bit disconcerting, and he stepped forward — and immediately wiped out. "AHHH!" He landed hard on his butt. "I'm okay, I'm okay," he said, lest Indi actually try to drag him to the hospital wing. Weston turned to the older boy. "Can you do more skating tricks?" It would probably be better just to sit and watch.
