Sixth Years, Lesson Three

"Good Morning sixth year," He said, as he fixed a few things on his table and then turned to face the class. He flashed them all a small smile. "I hope your week is going well." He took his coffee and took a small sip, before placing back on the table, as the final few students arrived. Misha walked to the door and closed it. He knew that most would not enjoy this lesson, it was largely theory based, but because he believed in practice being the best thing for all students.

"I hope you did the reading I set, or none of this will make too much sense." A few people nodded, and well, Professor Haden was not convinced that they'd all done the reading. He knew some might just know what it was, but he felt like asking anyway, "Let's test it, who here can tell me what a Disillusionment Charm does?" He chose a student who appeared to be confident in the answer. "Yes, you!" Professor Haden picked the student and waited. "The Disillusionment Charm is a charm that hides the true, magical nature of something" the student replied. Well, Misha was happy, at least one person had really done the reading, and actually knew what they were doing. That was good!

"Exactly! Take a couple of house points!" He said with a smile. "Now, the Disillusionment charm is one of my personal favourite Charms, it causes an object or a person to become like a chameleon, and I trust that all of you sixth years know what chameleons are famous for." he paused. picking his wand up from the table, waving it, and then his desk, and everything on it took the appearance of the wall behind it. While the desk was more or less gone, if any of the students were really looking hard enough, they’d be able to make out, the outline of the table. He gave the desk a quick tap, and it came back. "The Disillusionment charm is mostly used to hide magical creatures from muggles. Because we hardly want the muggles knowing that dragons or hippogriffs exist." he gave the class a warm smile.

"When casting the charm either upon yourself, or on others, it will feel like someone has cracked an egg on their head. To cast the spell upon yourself, you must wave your wand around yourself, like so," Professor Haden demonstrates this by waving the wand around himself, and then he blended into the background. "To remove the charm, cast Finite." He said, as he reappeared. "Now, it's your turn. I'm giving a couple of options, since you are sixth years and no longer need constant supervision. You can, practice here, on anything in this classroom, on each other, or you can leave, and practice else where. All I ask is that you attempt to disillusion something before the next lesson. But please, do not go around disillusioning the younger students, because I will end up getting into trouble." He said picking up his tea, while smiling at his students. He knew that they hadn't probably had the idea until he'd brought it up, but he knew it wouldn’t go down well if his sixth years were going around making people almost completely invisible. "That’s all for today, and for next week, as well as a bit of practice, read the chapter on hover charms. Thank you, have a great rest of week sixth year. I'll be here, if you have any questions!"

- RP Lesson. Attendance post is fine!

June made her way to class, and found her usual spot in the front giving Misha an quick smile as she sat down and made her ready for class. You didn´t had to ask June if she had done the reading, before you could even think about it or say she would already done it. When he asked an question the blonde raised her hand quickly. And smirked as she got chosen once more. June was just quick and professors knew that she would always give the right answer. " The Disillusionment Charm is a charm that hides the true, magical nature of something.'' She replied and could turn around and smirk to her classmates once more, but decided to just leave that. And focused on her notes as she write some parts down Misha added. The blonde was curious to learn the spell. Although the feeling of this spell was disgusting and that was not something she looked forward too. But she looked closely as Misha demonstrated. June decided to stay in class and try the spell. So she took out her wand and went standing in front of a wall and performed the same wand movement Misha showed around herself and performed the spell. She watched around her to see if something happend, at least the feeling of the spell she felt and it disgusted her. She tried a few more times and smiled as she perfected it. Would be handy to have such an spell. When the lesson was over she left the classroom.

Hinata settled into her seat with a polite nod to the professor. Based on the reading, they would be learning the Disillusionment Charm, which was definitely going to be handy. As the professor demonstrated the charm, she leaned forward slightly, concentrating on how the spell was performed. It was impressive. However, if she squinted and looked closely enough, she could still see a faint outline. Still, no doubt this was going to be more than useful. When the professor performed the charm on himself, Hinata once again watched the wand movements closely. She did snort at the warning of disillusioning younger students. She could only imagine the chaos that would bring. As the class was dismissed to practice, Hinata stood just as Mikael did and she followed her cousin out. It would be for the best to practice with him anyway since he'd been helping her with most of her spell repertoire.

Mikael entered the classroom making sure to sit as far away from Theodore as possible. When the professor mentioned the reading, he rolled his eyes. He didn't need to answer a silly question just to prove he knew what he knew. Besides, it was predictable that Davenport would be answering the question. As the desk blended into the background, his eyes caught the faint outline. An imperfect disguise. Useful but not infallible. Even as Misha demonstrated it, he could still see the professor if he looked close enough. But then again, if one wasn't looking for it, he would admit that it could be easily dismissed. Subterfuge and concealment. When it was their turn to practice, Mikael didn't even think twice before standing up. The classroom was definitely not the place considering Theodore's presence. While he would no doubt consider following after Mikael, he was sure that the Gryffindor would not resist an audience here in the classroom. And so he left and went down to the Duelling Chambers so he could practice the Disillusionment Charm. Should be easy enough.

Theodore strolled into the classroom, bag slung over one shoulder. As the professor greeted the class, he slid into a seat, giving his classmates a lazy grin and wave. When it was mentioned that the class would be about the Disillusionment Charm, he glanced around, mildly amused as the Slytherin girl answered - always her it seemed. "Does she ever let others answer the question?" he asked another classmate under his breath. He was just wondering really. Girl was such an overachiever and he was starting to think she needed to loosen up. As the professor demonstrated the charm on his desk, Theo raised an eyebrow, tilting his head as he tried to spot the faint outline of the table. "Not bad," he said mildly impressed. When the professor cast the charm on himself and vanished into the background, Theo gave an appreciative whistle and smirked. "Now that could come in handy for a few… situations," he said, an undeniable smirk playing on his lips. Once the professor announced it was their turn to practice, Theo sighed in mock disappointment as his cousin left before exchanging a glance with another girl. "Wanna give it a go?" he teased, arms opened wide before pulling out his wand with a flourish. After a few attempts, Theo managed to cast the charm on a spare chair, making it blend into the wall behind it. As the class wound down, Theo packed up his things but lingered near the door. "Hey Professor, I was just wondering if you've actually had to use that here in the castle. Just so I know how... useful... it could be," He'd heard that the professor was married to the school nurse after all. With that, he slipped out of the classroom, his laughter echoing faintly in the corridor.
