“Good afternoon, sixth years. I'm Professor Vader Hume, and I’ll be your Professor for History of Magic for at least this year, if not longer. You may call me Professor Hume or Vader, I don’t mind either one.” He paused, looking out over the students.
“You should be aware by now how to conduct oneself in a learning environment, so I won’t go over basic rules. Instead, I’ll lead you through what we’ll be learning this semester. You have probably heard of this infamous wizard in Defense Against the Dark Arts before, but in case you haven’t - Lord Voldemort is who we’ll be focusing on this year.”
“We’ll focus on his personal history, what wars he caused, and what the overall effects his reign of terror caused in the wide Wizarding World were. Theories abound about how he managed to survive for so long, especially after Halloween of 1981. Horcruxes are one theory - a subject you won’t learn in the normal library - you’ll need a Restricted Section pass if you want to learn more.”
Vader nodded as he looked around at all of the sixth years. “Now, I think that is enough for one lesson. I do have an extra credit homework assignment: tell me what you think about being part of this historical year of Hogwarts New Zealand.” He smiled as he dismissed them.
