Sixth Years, Lesson Four

"Good Morning Sixth year, I hope you've had a pleasant week, and I'm glad to say, that I got no reports of seemingly disappearing first years." He said, making his way to stand in front of the table of exceedingly dense cakes. "I do hope however that you did practice last week's spell" He looked around at the class. Smiling at them. He wanted to just get started, they didn’t have much to cover and he wanted to be sure everyone got a shot at practicing.

"If you did the reading, you'll know that today we will be looking at the Hover charm," He said with a smile, making his way around the back of the table and putting down his mug. He walked back to the front, his wand in hand. "It is a levitation charm as the name would suggest, and works much like Planerio or Wingardium Leviosa. What sets it apart, is that it is a lot stronger." Professor Haden had discovered he did this thing he called pacing. Walking back and forth as he spoke, so that he was in front of all the rows at one point.

"Applied correctly, the Hover Charm will allow you to levitate something heavy, something possibly even heavier than a human. Perhaps useful for the prefects." Misha said moving to stand at the side of the cakes. He waved his wand, and the entire table, plus the cakes were raised off the ground. He looked to the class and smiled. Before placing it back onto the ground. "Today's task is simple. There is a cake for everyone, levitate it." He gave another wave of his wand, and all the cakes went to be on the tables in front of the students. "There is also a box of knives sitting on my table, using the hover charm, or the summoning charm you learned as first years, take a knife and cut yourself a slice of cake. Eat it, throw it, I don't care. This is to help you practice" He took a seat on the table where the cakes had been moments before.

"If you feel really confident with the spell, feel free to levitate your desk, my desk, or anything else in this room. Just not the people." He gave a warm smile. "I'll be here, if you have any questions, and once you feel confident, you can leave. The homework, as always is to the read the next chapter, which is on flame freezing charm"

RP the lesson, Attendance post is fine

Halloween Feast wasn't something the blonde liked before. But this time it had been somewhat fun. And it wasn't because of the feast. But perhaps because of what happend. She had to smile and think of the photo Fraser had taken of her. And wanted to have it herself, making sure to hang it in her room. So she could look at herself, nothing made her more happy. But something what came close was Fraser complimenting her. And making her laugh, feeling special perhaps even? Perhaps she was gonna like Halloween after all.

The blonde made her way to class and gave Misha an quick smile before sitting down in the front like usual. Making herself ready for class with her wand in her pocket and her parchment and quill in front of her to take notes. She quickly smirked at Misha's comment on missing first years. The hovering charm seemed like an boring one, but June read of it and it was more powerfull than you thought she believed. Usefull for a prefect he said. It felt stupid though to levitate an cake, she wanted to levitate an person. But ofcourse that couldn't be the first practice. The blonde took out her wand and looked at the cake in front of her on the desk. If anyone wanted trouble she would leviate the knife to them, but June ofcourse was carefully and did what she had to do. She made the cake levitate quickly and didn't felt like cutting an piece of cake and eat it. She could accidently let it fall on someones head, but that was not something June would do. Because June never made mistakes so it was not realistic. She decided to take it more to the next level and made her desk levitate, and practiced a few more times with different stuff. It was sad that she couldn't levitate an person still. And left the room as she finished and the lesson was over.

Hinata walked into Charms, quite looking forward to another lesson. She couldn't help but smile at the professor's humor about disappearing first years. When the professor began to introduce the Hover Charm, Hina quickly jotted down his explanations. She wondered though why Levitation spell couldn't be used with heavier objects. The demonstration with the table and cakes was quite impressive and she hoped that she would be able to manage that much once practicals begun. Hina stared at the cake that floated to her table intensely as she muttered the incantation softly to herself. When she felt like she was as ready as she was ever going to get, she pointed her wand and whispered the spell with as much confidence as she had. The cake wobbled slightly before lifting off the table. Hinata’s eyes lit up as she managed to hold it steady. Carefully, she guided it higher before lowering it gently back down. She sighed in relief, her breath leaving her after holding it in. Next, she turned her attention to the knives on the professor’s table. She tried to use the Hover Charm as well but the knife clattered back to the box. Since it was a dangerous object, she decided to not practice a new spell on it. With a quick swish of her wand, she summoned one using the Summoning Charm. It flew into her hand neatly, and she used it to cut a slice of cake that she snacked on as she watched the rest of the class finish the activity, trying to hide a laugh when chaos erupted.

Theo entered the classroom, his uniform actually presentable for once, though the same couldn't be said for his hair. "Whoa. Cake for breakfast Professor?" he asked as he skipped over to the cakes. Oooooh, they looked good. "Can I have one?" he said as he reached out to grab one only to be dragged away by the back of his shirt, choking on it before he was let go. He stuck his tongue out at his cousin before moving to his seat.

As Professor Haden explained the day's task, Theo smirked looking forward to this activity. When the cakes floated to their respective places, he found himself with a particularly overly frosted one. He couldn't even help himself from taking a bit of frosting on his finger and popping it into his mouth, pleasantly humming at the taste. As someone cleared their throat, Theo sighed dramatically. "Alright, alright," he said as he brought out his wand and cast the spell on the cake. It went up higher and higher until it was above his classmates' heads. And that's when he got the idea. He first practiced maneuvering the cake, circling it around wider and wider. The bolder he got the wider he let it go. He had a target in mind of course, as he usually did. As he neared his target however, a sharp sting at his side caused him to lose concentration.

"Uh-oh."

Before Theo could react further, the cake took a nosedive—right onto the head of a girl seated two rows in front of him. Theo froze for a moment, his wand still raised, before hurrying over with an exaggerated apology. "Oh Merlin I'm so sorry," he quipped, but the grin on his face was hardly apologetic. With a quick Scourgify, he cleaned up the frosting smeared all over her. "There you go, good as new. Though, if you ask me, the frosting suited you just fine." He sighed at the destroyed cake all over the floor, lamenting the loss of the sugary goodness. He didn't bother to look at the girl's reaction, he was already sure she was furious. Returning to his seat, Theo winked at a Hinata. "Note to self: don’t moonlight as a waiter."
