With one hand curled around a long necked bottle of beer, the other foraged through a
magazine that was simply brimming with room ideas for Izaak to feast his greedy eyes
upon. It was early days yet he knew but Alexis was coming up to the four month mark,
she even looked pregnant now, that taut baby belly was something Izaak was growing
well accustomed to through each and every night when the young couple fell asleep in
each other’s embrace. The remaining months of her pregnancy would pass in a second,
Izaak was certain so finding the time to transform the spare room into a nursery would
be a little harder than first thought. “What do you think of this?” Izaak asked his mother
who had sat beside him on the couch, peering over at the magazine that he had been
flipping through as he tapped a finger to the print of a yellow nursery as opposed to the
pink and blue themed ones he had quickly grown tired of especially when he didn’t know
the gender of their baby. And although he had a secret suspicion it would be a tiny baby
girl, Izaak was no doctor and suspicions were a world of difference away from diagnosis.

Though as the mother and son continued their brief browse, it all seemed very much like
a place setter, like there was this more important question they needed to ask but each
were stumped for answers. Fletcher had requested that the both of them meet him in the
Bondi home but for what Izaak and Amanda had no clue.

so sorry, so tired...

Fletcher kissed his beautiful Leah goodbye, his hand and his lips lingering in her touch before she turned to leave. Turning to Jay, he said, "Come on buddy, let's go next door." The boy seemed to follow his directions despite the trouble he gave to Leah when he had to be baby sat. Hoisting the little boy in his strong arms, he left the house, locking the door with a simple spell that he had muttered under his breath, earning him a curious look from the blonde child. "Maybe when you're older you'll learn that one." He wondered if Jay was to be a squib or if he would choose to go to muggle school once he was of age but knew that as he got older it would be more difficult to make excuses for the magic that would come up unexpectedly that training at Hogwarts taught one to use properly.

Dropping Jay off at Leah's neighbours, he thanked her and reminded her a few times to keep this a secret from Leah. Fletcher had to do speak to Amanda and Izaak. Both knew not why but it was important none-the-less so he walked over to Izaak and Alexis' home with an anxious yet happily moronic grin plastered onto his lips as he played with something very special in his pocket. Only taking a moment more, Fletcher Bennet walked into his girlfriend's brother's house without knocking as he didn't want to bother to wait when Izaak and Amanda knew that he was going to be there. "Hello?" he called as he closed the door behind him and ruffled his brown hair as another nervous action. Walking forward he couldn't help but imagine Alexis and Izaak's little children running around and making this house the mess that Leah's often was because of Jay.

It amazed him just how ready the younger couple were to have their baby but he had a inkling that they would be surprised with all their new family would give them. But they had Leah, a seasoned mother, and himself for any help they would need if today would work well and then if the following event did as well. Fletcher felt his heart pound against his chest as he touched his hand to the soft, velvety box. The thought of giving it to his love was nauseating but it was well worth it because he adored her and knew that he never wanted to be without seeing her azure blue eyes or without the scent of the hypnautic coconut and ocean breeze. When she fell asleep in Fletcher's arms, her peaceful smile made him sure that this was the person he wanted to spend the rest of his life his life with.

Despite lacking experience with love, Fletcher knew that without a doubt this was the woman that he would love forever, the woman that would give him beautiful little children in the future and of course the woman that he would grow old with. Fletcher Bennet had fallen in love with Leah Finch the second he met her. And would be forever in dept to Kobe, a dog who must have acted out of fate to bring he and his wonderful Leah together. His family adored her and Jay and knew that they would be estatic for him if it all work out, his little sister, Avery, especially who seemed to think that Leah as an older sister-figure and it was all he needed to know. His family would accept her because he was so madly and deeply in love with her, as opposed to any other girl he had dated before.

excuse lameness

It was something so simple to most, but for Amanda looking through those baby things was such an amazing feeling. Knowing that her son valued her opinion and wanted her to be involved in her grandchilds life made her heart warm, something that Marcus had never been able to do. She was sure by now his heart was made of ice, and he chose to freeze anyone he came in contact with. As Amanda poured over the tiny baby clothes and cribs she listened to her son trying to decide, looking at the more sensible yellow option the mother looked a little closer "I like the color, but those little ribbons aren't the best for a new baby" she said, finding it hard not to point out these little details. She was sure Izaak was going to be an amazing father, but new babies were so delicate and required alot of safety thoughts to go with them. Sensing her son would be worrying about this she kissed him gently on the forehead and whispered to him "Don't worry, you'll be fine" she reassured him, knowing full well he would become the best dad in time.

Amanda looked up as she heard somebody enter the Bondi apartment, Fletcher most probably. She was nervous as to why her daughters boyfriend had called her and Izaak together today, but was happy to be around family nevertheless. As Fletcher entered she sat up in her seat, turning her attention to him, she wondered what on earth he had called them there for, hopefully it was good news, it was a little odd him wanting to see her, she hadn't exactly played an active role in Leah's life lately. She would hear him out though, who knows he might be the next member of their growing family. "So what did you want to see us for?" she asked Fletcher suspiciously.

Izaak listened earnestly to his mother’s advice because despite his rather cold childhood
and all that he had been deprived of no thanks to Marcus, she knew just as Leah did all
the in’s and out’s, all the little things that doctors failed to inform you or that books failed
to include. Of course, he had never felt more frightened in his lifetime, not even before
he had sunk down on one knee to propose to Alexis and that was most definitely saying
something. He was freshly twenty-one, she was still technically a teenager and the truth
was was that it was a tiny human being. It would be demanding, draining, exhausting for
the both of them. An experience like no other. And yet a love so deep it was indescribable.

A smile rocked Izaak’s lips as his mother placed her faith in him when he was grappling,
still, for his own. Between her and his sister, the young man’s confidence in himself was
being built up all by itself and that wasn’t even bringing Alexis into the picture. There was
no girl on the earth quite like her he was sure, no one that could make him feel ready or
at least happy to steer his life down this path at such a young age. Alexis Marie was his
rock, his drug, his one way ticket to ecstasy that would not taste as sweet if it were from
anybody else’s lips. Strangers in the street that saw her swollen stomach, acquaintances
and friends of friends that they had met at the odd party , even some friends and family,
they all thought them irrational, irresponsible, too doped up in their so-called love to see
what kind of a responsibility they were taking. But anyone who actually knew the young
couple, the Finches to be, saw it for what it was; the entire opposite of the perceptions
most held. Izaak and Alexis weren’t stupid, they were real and just as serious about one
another as any other couple, namely Fletcher and Leah and was glad they saw that too.

Speaking of whom, Izaak heard the voice of his sister’s boyfriend call out from the front
of the house and he smiled a touch at his mother before calling back out, “In here man.”
But the young man barely had the time to stand in order to greet Fletcher when his pair
of horrified azure blue eyes noticed a flash of black and white as it dashed towards the
front door. “Kobe!” The young dog had been giving Izaak hell all morning, ever since
Alexis had walked out the door and up until then, surprise surprise, he had been so well
behaved. Now there was no unattended coffee mug or remote control, or unsuspecting
visitor that was safe from the reckless whirlwind that was their dog. But as quick as Izaak
was to jump from the mark, Kobe was up all over the older man; jumping, licking, even
gnawing away at his clothing. Izaak roused firmly on the Border Collie, speaking to him
in a particularly amused yet peeved voice. “Why aren’t you this bad for Alexis hey? She
doesn’t believe me you know.”
Locking the eager, gangly dog between his calves, Izaak
looked up at Fletcher, a smile on his features as he greeted him and clapped him on the
shoulder. He heard his mother speak out though and sharply remembered the mystery
of the situation. “You’re okay Fletch? Is Lee alright?” Izaak asked, wanting to dismiss the
possibility of any bad news first so that he could relax for knowing that they were all fine.

Fletcher chortled in half-amusement as Kobe all but attacked him. Petting the Border Collie pup lightly before straightening his stance so she was at his full height of 6'4". Returning the grin to Izaak, before turning his gaze to Amanda. He swallowed nervously, now aware that she had been a Death Eater he certainly didn't want to be on her bad side for she scared hom a far amount, despite being someone he knew that if he wished to he could crush easily. "Leah and I are great, perfect actually," he said with a smile, one that Izaak had often been dressed with when he spoke of his love. "Well I'm aware of the situation with Mr. Finch and as Leah's only family, I thought you both were the best to speak to."

Inhaling and exhaling nervously, Fletcher could feel his palms heat and his cheeks flush as he brought his hand to the back of his neck and massaged it in a honest try to calm himself and only wondered what would happen to him when he would ask Leah herself. "I was hoping to get your permission," Fletcher began, his eyes flickering from Izaak to Amanda and back to show that he was asking the pair of them and not just Izaak, as he had been in Leah's life the longest. "To ask Leah if she would like to become a Bennet." He couldn't help but smile like a great big idiot at the idea of being wed to Leah. He adored her and hoped that she would allow him the privalige to make her half as happy as he was. If he could, he would be more then satisfied as he knew he was simply the happiest man in the world.

All too aware that it was a little soon, Fletcher hoped that Izaak of all people would see how he felt about Leah, that he would very willingly do anything and everything for her because she was the one. "I want to ask to marry her," he said softly, smiling slowly at the thought of it all.

Amanda listened intently to Fletcher as he spoke but couldn't help but jumpt to comnclusions when he spoke of them being her only family and that he thought they were the best to speak to. She was pleased however to hear that Leah was fine. Leah become a Bennet? thought Amanda but before she had the chance to come to a conclusion on her own Fletcher spoke once more and Amanda's smile grew wider than ever. "Come here!" she said, her arms now wide open ready to embrace him ", Of course you can!" she said without hesitation, she knew how much Leah loved Fletch, even though she hadn't been around much mothers just knew these things, and there was the added bonus, the fact that he was so great with Leah's children. "If thats OK with you Izaak?" she said, suddenly remembering that she wasn't the only one that needed to be consulted. Afterall Izaak was the one who had been there for Leah all those years, he was the one who ultimately needed to decide whether this man was worthy of being his sisters suitor.

Perhaps even more exciting than this to Amanda was the fact that Fletcher had consulted her, this meant she was accepted in the family, he respected her enough to ask her if he could have her daughters hand in marriage. She just knew that Leah would say yes, how could she not. It was more than romantic that he had been so formal with her and Izaak, now all that needed to be done was for Izaak to agree with her. Amanda was so pleased that Fletcher would be making an honest woman out of her daughter, what Leah really needed was stability right now, something neither Izaak or herself had been able to give her.
