The entrance hall was completely bare with both noise and movement, and the staircase woven through the center of this room copied it's silent trait. The walls ached with sleep, the windows close to peeling back their curtains to shut their clear and transparent eyes. The winter chill from the outside air let the glass sit in a pale frosted stare. The stone tiles decorating the floor stretched in a repetitive pattern, droning on and on in an endless stance. The air was cold, the only noise that could be heard was the occasional creak of a bed post, the murmur of a student, or the call of a morning bird, all of which were dampened by the thick walls protecting the silence.
Abigail Lurken broke this phase. Her bare feet were frozen, but graceful across the stoned floor. Her baggy track pants were too long for her legs and dragged across the ground, collecting dust at the hem. Her faded grey tank top was too tight across her chest, but hidden behind her over sized dark blue GAP sweater. Her long brown hair, lay across her back, curling in a natural wave.
Abbey's violet eyes flicked across the morning air, the stillness of asleep bodies still irked the hallways. Her feet quietly tapped as she walked down the entrance hall staircase to the flagged stone floor that met the bottom. Gracefully skipping the trick step, and leaping across the stone floor to a tapestry covered wall on her left, she let her lips escape a relaxed sigh, slightly closing her eyelids over her piercing gaze, letting the long lashes that laced her lids fall in a dappled shadow over her cheeks.
The morning was icy, and the girls temper was much the same. Her life at this school was too interesting and irritated her beyond extent, but this was a new semester, a new year, hopefully some new faces and of course some old ones, which she hoped would change the score in her currently procrastinate-like schooling mood. Abbey turned her back to the tapestry glazed wall and slid herself to a seated position against it. Her head rolled back against the covered stone, her eyes flicking open and her teeth finding and biting at her lower lip. She wished someone would come and entertain her, by not being interesting. Hogwarts wasn't supposed to be boring, but Abbey's life was too interesting.
[Set after January & sorry for the sketch post]
