Fabiano Santiago-Cruz thought the library was safest for his health. It was the quietest place in the school. It was also filled with tons of books. He sat in a chair reading a teen romance novel. It was not his favorite genre, but it would do. He always managed to learn something from even the most trivial books. His father on the other hand, would have slapped him across the face for even thinking about reading such a book. It made him happy that he was not at home. The thought of home made him feel like he was being wrapped up in strong metal chains. There were just so many things he was not able to do. He was forced to read and do work. Read, so work, and network. That was all he did and all he knew how to do. It was a miserable life. Fabio lived a miserable life. He did not have any friends, and he did not like being around people. Whenever he was around people it was loud. Loud noises and voices scared him to death. His ears always started to ring, and that scared him. No one but his family knew of his little dilemma, and he wanted to keep it that way. He did not want students to purposely start yelling in his ears to make him start screaming.

Fabio closed the book and stood up from his chair. He placed to the book back on the shelf where he found it. He walked over to the more academic selection of books. He calmly scanned the shelves for another book to get. Fabio thought of a subject he found at least a little difficult. Herbology. They were researching a really complex and rare plant. He was surprised that he was even struggling with such a simple subject. It was more the plant than it was the subject. He liked classes with lectures and theories. Practical courses, such as DADA, were difficult for him. Fabio always managed. He was not only a Santiago, but he was a Cruz. He always made it though, no matter what obstacles stood in his way. He took a blue book from the shelf. Why did he think the color was such an eyesore?
