Full Name:
Silas Ernest Darlington

Date of Birth:
January 4th, 2033

Current Age:
Ten years

Family:
Mother: Daphne Darlington (nee Shield) - sectioned at St. Ludics home for the magically insane
A mishap during a dueling tournament sent her own spell back at her which both confunded and obliviated her simulataneously - wiping her memory and confusing all future thoughts and actions.

Father: Oscar Darlington - healer at St. Mungo's New Zealand
Has raised his three children ever since their mother's incident when the triplet's were five years old. He is a good man, tolerant and patient and still very loyal to his wife who he visits regularly.

Sisters:
Mercia - the eldest of the Triplets, she is fun and quirky, loves clothes and makes her own as well as her own jewelry. She loves dressing up and going what her sister considers to be 'girly' things.

Ameko - the toy boy out of the girls, she enjoys sports, sports and ... sports! She hates reading or studying of any kind and would rather be outside than in any day of the week.

Silas:
The quiet studious one out of the triplets, he misses his mother more than the others. Silas was the last born of the triplets, the two girls came out within two minutes of one another whereas he took another ten minutes to be delivered and even then there were complications. Their mother favoured him the most only because she had thought she would lose him. They have never been allowed to visit her since her accident as their father is afraid what it would do to them not being recognised by their own mother.

Pets:
Silas has a pet toad called Peeta

Place of Birth:
home birth

Place of Residence:
Breville Cottage five miles from Hastings, North Island, New Zealand

Blood Status:
Half-blood

Heritage:
Kiwi

Interests or Hobbies:
Herbology more specifically the language of flowers

His mother a well known local herbologist had begun teaching all of them the language of flowers when they were about three years old, it was Silas who fell in love with the ancient art of communication. He kept it up after his mother was sent away and does it now not just for her memory but because of the love he has for the subject.
Silas reminds his father and sisters of their mother daily, he is always seen as the glue that holds the family together. He is its backbone, the way that Mercier is its heart and Ameko is its strength, their father is the brains!

Strengths:
Quiet
Studious
Loyal
Determined

Weaknesses:
Stubborn
follows his sisters far too easily
takes things very personally
can be shy

Describe your character in three words:

Favourite place to be:
The garden or the potting shed at the side of their cottage where he presses his flowers

Friends:
His two sisters

Hogwarts House:
Unsure really, he doesn't mind where the hat sorts him - his father was from Hufflepuff and his mother a Gryffindor

Hogwarts Hopes and Ambitions:
Getting good grades
Being top in the class at Herbology
making friends

Best school subjects:
Herbology

Worst school subjects:
Probably DADA or transfiguration - these just remind him of the spells that rebounded on his mother

Plans for the future:
Reviving the lost art of the Language of flower

Patronus:
I hope it would be something like a Pekapeka bat because of its unique communication skills and it stays close to its family

Patronus memory:
I can't make a patronus yet.

Boggart:
Nightmares of his mother

Mirror of Erised:
seeing his family together again

Hey, Linda! I have some questions for you! ^_^ Feel free to answer them IC or OOC.

1. Has Silas ever travelled abroad? Where did he go?
2. How did his father explain his mother's accident to him? Did it take him long to understand?
3. What was the best gift he ever received? Why did it mean so much to him?
4. Does Silas get along with one of his sisters better than the other? If so, why?
5. Did he choose to own a pet toad, or would he have preferred a dog or a cat?
6. Does his father encourage his interests? What has he done to show this?
7. How often does Silas get angry? What would it take to provoke him?
8. What is his deepest fear?
9. If he could change one thing about the world, what would it be?

Thank you!

My second stab at this, first try got erased when my laptop just shut itself down
Thanks for ALllllll of these questions Claire =))

they were very thought provoking -

1. No, Silas has never traveled abroad - the furthest he has been was to the South Island.

2. He found it difficult to do as he could barely explain it to himself. He kept his words simple and welcomed questions from them and has always kept that conversation open for all of the triplets over the years. Silas's memory of this is ...
Sitting with his sisters on a sofa, all their feet just hanging off the edge. Mercier sat in the middle and held their hands, he sat on the right of her and their Dad sat on a coffee table in front of them. Silas never remembers his father ever sitting on a table before and this little trivial memory is what he recalls often, the small things, silly inconsequential things because once the words were out there, he couldn't take them in. He remembers looking at the armchair near the fireplace and wondering at first why his Dad wasn't sitting there but then recalls how Mercier's dolls were there as she had been scolding them all a few minutes before their Dad came in - apparently the dolls had made a complete mess of the bedroom and she would get the blame. He knows his dad said words like Mom, accident, hospital and he could feel Mercier squeeze his hand and he had glanced over to see her doing the same to Ameko's hand. He had looked at her and then to his Dad whose eyes were very sparkly. He knows now that his Dad was doing his best not to cry but at the time, he just remembers his Dad's eyes being lovely and sparkly. For the next three days, Silas continued to go to the greenhouse, to the kitchen and to the front door always waiting for his Mom to come but she didn't. He kept asking his sisters but Mercier would just walk away, it was Ameko who repeated what their Dad had said to them and she took him to speak with their Dad again. Silas cried and couldn't stop crying, he wanted to see her and couldn't understand that his Mom would not know him. Mercier being the eldest had even at five behaved as if she were in charge of the three but after that day, it was Ameko who stepped up.

3. At his eleventh birthday - January of 2044 his father gave him his mother's herbology books, some of these were first editions and very old. He is very precious about them because they were his mothers.

4. He doesn't, the sister's are more likely to have a favourite but not Silas. He recognises that they all have their differences and only sides with one over the other if he truly believes that iti's the right thing to do, otherwise he does his best to keep the peace. He loves them both and believes he sees different aspects of his Mom in each of them.

5. He chose the toad himself, a dog or cat would only pee or poop on his plants or flowers where as his toad Peeta eats the insects that would otherwise pester his beloved plants.

6. Yes, he does. He has fixed the greenhouse roof when Silas was nine, for some of Silas's birthdays and Christmases he has gotten him gifts like garden tools, a wheelbarrow, seeds and potted plants and his most recent birthday, he gave his son all of his mothers herbology books as well as a journal so that Silas could take his own notes for gardening and herbology.

7. Not ever really. He can get exasperated when his sisters take all the hot water in the mornings before he has had a chance to wash but he has never really gotten angry. I think what would provoke him to get angry would be if anyone were to find out about his mother and insult her or make fun of her ... or to make fun of the rest of his family.

8. That he will never ever get a chance to see her again, he knows their father has promised that when they are finished their first year at Hogwarts they will be taken to see her then if they still want to. Their Dad Oscar thinks that at that stage, they will be more mature and able to deal with what they see and how they feel but that they will also be able to decide for themselves if seeing their mother is what they want.

9. The belief that some people matter more than others.
