Ugh, Elt had looked absolutely everywhere for Turioona - well, this was the name she had positively heard the sorting hat call out before the very small and undeniably goblinish girl had gone up and sat on the stool, anyway. There was no mistaking that squat little figure; and even though her long, dark hair had been hanging like curtains over her ears, Elt was convinced they were pointed like hers. Not to mention she was just completely amazing to watch. But she couldn't find her anywhere, and was just beginning to think she might have dreamt her up when she caught a glimpse of dark, bushy hair through the legs of two seventh years. YES! With little regard for who she might trip up in the process, Elt began ploughing through the crowd towards her.

Oona had been looking everywhere for her older brother, but it seemed that she couldn't find him anywhere. She had been sure that she had seen him, but it was always hard to tell between the legs of freakishly tall people. The young Ravenclaw tied her long, curly hair in pigtails that wriggled with every step she walked, just how she liked it. She oved her hair, and it was almost long enough for her to be able to sit on it (which had always been her intention). Within her small hands were two cupcakes that she had smuggled away from the table for safe keeping. Naturally, she was already nibbling at one, frosting creating a baby pink moustache on her lip. She had to pause her leisurely walk, however, when she heard a commotion coming from behind her - several students losing balance, or even outright falling over. Her eyes widened when she saw a very familiar face, however - that Elt girl who had been sorted before her. Oona wouldn't ever forget her face - she fully intended to find her after she found her brother!

Oona rushed towards her, ignoring the clutter of students muttering under their breaths at them. With a big grin, she offered the uneaten cupcake to the girl. "Oona!" she greeted, gesturing to herself.

The commotion was fantastic. Well, apparently - Elt was much too busy throwing herself towards the normal-sized girl to look back at it. "OONA!" she repeated, taking the poor girl by her shoulders and shaking her repeatedly, as if the answer as to where she'd been all this time might fall out of her. Even once she'd let go, she couldn't keep still; her excitement was simply uncontainable. She took the cupcake and dived into the frosting whilst simultaneously springing up and down, gaining not only a mustache identical to Oona's, but also a pink, sugary nose. "I'm Elt! You're normal, like me!" she exclaimed, in Gobbledegook. "Yes, yes, yes! Let's be best friends! I love this cake! I love your hair!" Elt thought she might explode with delight.

Oona's eyes almost tripled in size as her fellow goblin started shaking her almost violently. She was used to tumbling around with her brothers and getting over excited with her extremely playful father, but was relieved upon release. The grin had never quite left her face, though, and only strengthened as Elt took the cupcake and ate it - smearing the icing on her nose and lips. The young Ravenclaw listened carefully at the grunts and snuffles - understanding roughly 70 percent of what she said. If that. She was definitely happy, and there was an introduction in there somewhere. She understood cake, though! Gobbledegook was not a language she would describe herself as 'fluent' in, however. A look of consideration came over her as she tried to think of something to say.

"Um... I'm not good at Gobbledegook," she replied awkwardly, shuffling her feet. "Hello, though?"

Elt waited patiently for her reply, stuffing a bit of cupcake in her mouth to pass the completely agonising time. But when the reply came, it was so immensely disappointing that she nearly wished she hadn't got excited at all. "Oh," she said glumly, her expression falling. "But you know some?" Given that Oona was the first person in the entire castle to understand any Gobbledegook, perhaps it wasn't so bad. The pair must have looked and sounded quite a sight, grunting at each other in the midle of the entrance hall, but Elt was mostly oblivious to the strange looks passers by were giving them. "I don't know very much English!" she said, despairing. This was one heck of an obstacle.

Oona deflated instantly when her response obviously wasn't desired by her new friend. She nodded sheepishly, her pinkie dipping into the icing and then stuck in her mouth. She knew gobbledegook from her father, who knew it from his father, who probably learned it from his father - she didn't know. But her father wasn't what one would describe as fluent, either, and so she wasn't entirely confident in it. There could be all sorts of differences in grunts, and sometimes it was hard to decipher, or make the right noises - she didn't want to offend her new friend. Elt not knowing much English was another issue - until a bright idea camping floating into the young girl's mind, and her expression brightened once more. "Pappi!" she announced, jumping up and down. She knew of someone that knew gobbledegook right here in the castle, and he loved her very much and she knew he would just love a visit from his favourite granddaughter.

Oona stuffed the cupcake into her mouth and swallowed hard, wincing slightly, before rubbing her hands on her pristine uniform. Her mother would have choked at the sight. "A professor knows gobbledegook," he finally explained to Elt, after linking their arms and beginning to drag her along. "Come on!"

Pappi? Elt gave Oona a bemused look, wondering why Pappi, whatever that was, had her bouncing up and down with excitement. When she explained in Gobbledegook, Elt's face positively lit up. Yes! Perhaps, with any luck, it would be one of her professors! With this fresh optimism, she directed her last piece of cupcake towards her mouth. Unfortunately, the cake it never reached its destination, because Oona had linked arms with her half way through its course and knocked it out of Elt's hand. She was momentarily disappointed - it had been a delicious cupcake - but then, remembering where Oona was dragging her, she stopped thinking about it and began to run along beside her new best friend.
