It was a Saturday afternoon and Maddiie was sure this was Brightstone week. The end of her quill would be heard tapping on her parchment feeling as if this day was lagging so much. She should be enjoying this weekend at either brightstone or the mall that had just open up a few days back. But she couldn't, her work load was piling up and the only place she seem to be able to concentrate more was the school library. Of course she wasn't the only one who had linger about the school grounds. As a bunch of younger first and second year seem to have been busy in their studies or being chatter bugs every chance they had once the librarian was to busy to take notice.

Maddiie sighed feeling a bit overwhelmed wishing she was home at the moment. The cottage her father had brought a year ago was feeling like home at every visit she had stayed there. Her room was the same size as the dorms, but it was her own, and that it what she had missed the most. Biting down onto her bottom lip she would look back down knowing the next vacation wasn't anytime soon. Oh how she dreaded the long school days, like she had mention it was a drag. Her honey optics would look up to see if the group of younger pupils were still around only to see they had left leaving a pile of books behind. They would suddenly be picked up by a unknown source like any other book, a charm spell would settle them back into their shelf. One book had drifted next towards the restriction section, were dangerous magic and creatures was informed filling the pages of these books. Maddiie mind would wonder what was in those books being here for seven years and had never once looked at a single page.

Alex had been thinking all day about how he was going to catch up on the school work he had missed, seeing as he had avoided going to classes for a while due to the family issues that he had to deal with over the past month. It was absolutely terrifying for him, knowing that he would be sitting his final exams at the end of this year, he knew he had to do well, seeing as he wanted to become a Auror after he finished his schooling. He walked into the Library, to see a lot of younger kids, running around doing there thing, some reading, others having quiet conversations with in the ow little groups that they had formed over the years that they had been occupied the school. Alex wasn't like most of the other kids, he didn't really care much for having people around him, he was more of a lone rider, just a go with the flow type of a person. Alex looked around in the section where he knew the books for transfiguration would be, he really wanted to become a Animagus, but he knew he would have to pick up on his school work first before he could even attempt the transformation.

He found the book he was looking for in the second row of shelves from the center of the library, near the tables and chairs, where the students got there books and went to read them at. He looked over to see a girl that was in his house, he didn't really recognize. He felt lonely seeing as he had no friends at the school so he decided to go make conversation with her, not really knowing how to start it off. He walked over towards her slowly. " Um.... Excuse me, you wouldn't know where to find a book on animagus's would you?"

Maddiie had been gazing where the restrictions section was when her thoughts were interrupted by a boy who seem to have been wearing a symbol of hufflepuff house. ((Seeing as it was the weekend)) She had never seen him before, and was curious to know why she didn't know him. "Yes those books will probably be towards the third row on your left" she smiles, as she pointed out the section for him. She had guess that maybe he kept to himself, and probably was more into his studies than wanting to socialise with many students. Which reminded her, why she was here, to study. "Stuck studying as well?" she bit her lower lip, as she grab the nearest book closer to her, not minding a conversation if one was to progressively happen.

" Thanks." Alex said with a smile. "..... Yes i need to catch up on everything, Ive missed so much.. I'm Alexander Fields by the way." He said as he extended his right hand. He didn't know if she would take it and he was bad with introductions, seeing as it was so long since he had met someone new. He knew it would be good for him to make some new friends and to talk about what had happened with his brother, seeing as he had bottled it up over the past year and not said a single word to anyone about it and now every one seemed to forget what had happened. The blood curdling scream that echoed across the grounds, as the beasts dragged him into the Forest, to a secluded area where no one knew about, so no one would ever find his body. He shook his head, slightly hoping that the girl wouldn't notice, he just wanted to rid himself of all these thoughts that haunted him and probably would for the rest of his life.

"I know what you mean" she nodded as her right hand slip next to a stalk of books. "I've been in and out of school so when I'm out I tend to miss almost a whole year" she sighs pouting a bit. She didn't want to go into details in what her past has brought upon her. To much to explain, and rarely knowing the person she left it that. "I'm Maddiie Hollawarth" she replied back as her left hand would slide into his right, briefly shaking it as well. It looks like they were both stuck in the same situation, so she couldn't help but offer him the seat opposite from were she was seated. "Please do sit down" she gestures cleaning up her mess.

" It's very nice meeting you Maddiie." Alex said as he walked around the table and took the seat opposite her. He looked her over, she was beautiful. " So what year are you in?" He asked politely trying to make conversation, he didn't want there to be an awkward silence and ruin his chances at having a good friend ship, with her. He pulled out his wand and muttered " Accio Animagus Book." Hoping that he would not get in trouble for using magic in the library. He watched as the book slowly began to float over towards them and plop itself on the table. He opened it up to the first page, which was all on how to prepare yourself for the transformation and what could happen if it goes wrong.

Maddiie nodded smiling "Like wise" as she spoke with a sweet tone of voice. She would watch as Alexander summon, a anigmus book, as it floated towards him without a hassle, she couldn't help but chuckle inside knowing well he really didn't need her help after all. "I'm a seventh year actually, and that's why I found it strange why I never seen you before. What year are you in?" she reverse the question back to him, as she too grabbed another book, of dark creatures. For some reason Maddiie has gotten really into mysterious creatures. They have capture her interest, more really because she had wanted to know if she was ever to stumble upon them how would she defend against them. At the moment she was reading along the lines of wraiths and if they did exist. She figure they must have seeing as ghost in the wizaring world so anything was possible.

" I'm a seventh year, I haven't really talked to many people. I try to stay to myself, but I've started to feel a bit lonely of late." Alex said with a smile, he could tell that she knew he didn't need help to get the book and that he might have come across as a bit desperate for someone to talk to. " So where a bouts in the world do you come from?" He asked genuinely interested. His Australian accent, noticeable with his speech. It was easy for him to get to school in the holidays all he had to do was fly over the little bit of ocean that separated New Zealand from Australia and he was at school.

Oh that's not good, Maddiie couldn't help but felt sorry for him. She had knew what it was like when you distant yourself from the other people. That was basically her, since the past two years of Hogwarts. "I'm actually a bit of a mutt you could say" she blushed a crimson red as she bit her lower lip, a habit she often does every now and than. "I'm from London, but my parents they both have different backgrounds, my father parents are from Spain, and my mother was from Puerto Rico" she said in a british accent. "But I have this accent seeing that I'm from London" she said nodding. She couldn't help but notice he had an Australian accent, it was cute she always loved the Aussie accent, "Australian right?" she said with a grin.

" Yeah, I am Australian. On my fathers side we are from Ireland and on my mothers side where from Scotland." Alex said with a frown on his face, did he just hear right. Did she just call herself a mutt. " Um forgive me for asking, but how are you a mutt?" Alex hated when people put them selves down around him, it made him feel bad. Just seeing how hurt and upset they must be, to be able to say such things about themselves. He liked to stick to the lines, if you have nothing nice to say don't say nothing. It was probably the most important thing any one had ever told him in his life.".. Puerto Rico and Spain, there both beautiful places, I loved it when I went there. I wasn't tehre for long, it was just a silly little holiday."

Maddiie couldn't help but, laugh dropping a book as she does. "No a mutt is an American Slang, for when your mixed blood" she laughs harder, her face turning red. The libarian must of heard Maddiie, rushing quickly over to hush Maddiie. Maddiie stop laughing and apologize keeping a grin upon her face. "Yeah sorry about that, my father had travel a lot, so whenever he took us with him, we always end up learning a few things" she says reaching over for another book an Theories of The After Life. "Yeah they are beautiful places. I haven't visit Spain yet, hope to soon but yeah its lovely" she says as her finger trace along the binder of the book. "Do you have any idea what you want to be doing after Hogwarts?" she looked up curiously at him.

((its okay no problem))

" Yeah I want to follow along in my forster fathers footsteps and become a Auror. It's been my dream job since i was a little kid." Alex said, with a smile on his face. He had never heard of an expression like that, it seemed crude and harsh. If you called someone a mutt in Australia, you would expect a mouth full back or at least a punch in the face." What about you what would you like to be when you graduate?"

"I'm still thinking about it" Maddiie sighs. It felt like seven years of her life was wasted because she still wasn't sure what she had wanted to be. At first she really thought she was interested in herebology class, which lead to a couple professions. But than that has changed over the years due to unfortunate events in her life. "An aurou (sp) is great though" she curled her lips into a smile for him. "Now its the Newts exams you have to worry about"

" I know, but I don't think I would be able to pass them any time soon, so I'll just have to take my time with it." Alexander said with a smile. He liked the fact that she was putting time into thinking about, what job she wanted. Most people just thought about it and jumped right in there. " So what electives have you picked for this year?"

"Well so far I,ve taken up Care of magical creature, possibly Arthirmacy (sp) again, and Muggel studies" she notion at some of the books pile up next to her. The one she like the most was probably care of magical creature, its getting rather interesting since she missed so much last year. She looked at Alexander wondering the same for him "I'm guessing you've gots a whole bunch of electives on the account of your future choice of profession?" she ask, tilting her head towards the side. Maddiie father was a Ministry official, his profession revolves around unspeakable and mysterious magic. So typically she couldn't ask her father much about his job, just the general information he can speak about. Other than that, he wasn't allow to say much.

" Yeah there is a fair bit I have to take to be able to be ready for the job." Alex said." Ive been thinking about taking all of them, but I don't think I would have the time." He truthfully meant what he said, he would only have enough time at the moment for one of the lessons. Which was a shame seeing as he needs to be educated as much as he can. " So how old are you?"

"I'm 17 but will be turning 18 soon" she says casually. She was really enjoying the conversation she was having with Alexander. Its been a while since she conversated for so long, maybe because she was either studying or isolated within her own dorm, watching the time fly by. "And what about you?" she ask than added."I was wondering seeing as we both need to catch up on our classes" she bit her lower pout trying to summon the words she needed." If you like to study sometime together, I've been looking for a partner for sometimes, seeing as it was the year we take Newts" she chuckle a bit uneasy.

" I recently turned eighteen." He replied. He enjoyed this conversation. For some reason she was so easy to talk to which was good. " Um yeah... I would like that a lot. It's always better when you have help with your work." Alex replied with a slight pause. His slightly tanned face, began to turn a light red. It was good he had made a friend that was his age and a girl, just a week ago he thought that he wouldn't even have a friend for a very long time to come. His green eyes gazing around the room, looking to see if any one could see that he was blushing.

((lol ))

Maddiie eyes widen an relief, and couldn't help but notice his comeplexion shade a shadow blush. She chuckles slightly "Thanks you save me from putting up a flyer in every corridor." And to be be honest she didn't have much time to look for one either way. She had taken up the drama club again, which was emerged with two other clubs. She was co-owner, along with Pat, and Abbey, so surely she would be busy with that. "So what be your favorite subject than?" she ask.

" Transfiguration, I love everything about it, just how the structure of things change." Alex said feeling kind of more relaxed. " What about you, what's your favorite subject?" He asked, he was hoping they would have that in common, but it was unlikely that they would and if not he would be happy to help out as much as he could with it. He scratched his head, messing up his perfectly white hair, causing it to not in a few places.

It was getting late in the evenings, those around that were left behind had already creept away. Unlike muggels library were you had to leave at a certain hour, the students at Hogwarts were allow to stay up according to your age, and the meanings of being here. Maddiie had take advantage of that, as she thought of which subject she fancy the most. "Honestly besides care of magical creature, history was my favorite but now I would say charms my least Astronomy. But I really don't know why, if I focus more I always tend to do better in Astronomy" she shrug not knowing why. It was the same with her best friend, he couldn't stand Astronomy but yet he does well in it.

Alex noticed that the library was almost fully empty except for a few students who still sat down, buried in there books. It was good to know that Maddiie liked her school work and at least wasn't one of the people who just didn't care." Astronomy is a good subject, but it does drag on a fair bit." Alex replied to her comment on Astronomy not being her favorite subject. " My least favorite would have to be, Ancient Runes, I have never really been able to understand it." he looked back down at the book he had forgotten about to see that some people, try to change into an animal and they end up, half of what they want to be.

"Oye I think I took that subject once. Its not as bad as you think, its merely having to do with letters and the meaning of it." she explain it as she lean back closing the book she was holding. Now to get off school subject "So besides worrying bout school you do anything for fun" she ask Alexander. "I'm sure you like quitdditch at least, she playfully chuckles keeping her gaze towards him, as she stretch her legs a bit.

" Yeah I love my quidditch, I'm not that good at it but im a good flier. I just need practice with the game. What about you?" Alex said as he picked his book up and tapped it with his wand and it slowly floated back towards the section it was in. He was hoping that she was a good quidditch player so she could teach him how to play it, he knew the rules but just lacked a style.
