Like Cassius Styx, Terror Zhefarovich was taught martial arts and how to fight. His father was a specialist in pressure points in order to immobilize the opponents. He had told Zion to run and get his stamina up last year before he would really start the training. In return, he just tested to see what Zion would do for him. Take notes, switch things around. Small, simple things. Eventually, he would find bigger and better things. He left Zion a note to meet him at the lawns precisely at 9AM. Terror would not tolerate any sort of lateness. Punishment would occur if that were the case. For this, Terror just wore thin, easy to move in pants and a loose t-shirt. It would be hard to see that Terror indeed worked out and trained.

Zion wasn't sure how he'd gotten involved in this. But somehow he was in Terror's service. And there wasn't exactly anything he could do about it. He'd been doing his best, and thankfully Terror hadn't asked him to do anything... really crazy. As long as Zion behaved, he hoped that remained the case. He had done the running that Terror had asked him to, done all the silly little tasks. He'd just gotten back to the dorm when he saw the note. He glanced at his clock, and swallowed hard. He had ten minutes to get to the lawn. He dropped his bag and took off again running. He came skidding onto the lawn by Terror just as his watch ticked over to nine, a little out of breath. "I'm here, I'm here!" He managed, running his hands through his hair and giving the boy a shy smile.

Terror started to wonder if Zion would ever get here on time, but he finally made it, right on time too. The Slytherin was a bit impressed with his dedication. Terror decided to start with something small. After all, it wasn’t like Zion had any sort of experience with fighting. "Today, I am going to teach you how to defend yourself. So, swing at me." Terror tapped his jawline with his finger to show him where to aim. "Right here." He made no such effort to even block. Basically, he left it wide open for Zion to have an open punch, but there were ulterior motives to this. It was the reason why Terror and Cassius never sparred. Cassius always went for brute strength, whereas he went for strategy.

Zion hesitated. "What?" He blinked, before taking a deep breath. "Alright, alright," He offered almost immediately. He knew that he wasn't supposed to question his orders. He knew holding back wouldn't get him anywhere, so he balled up his fist, bouncing a little bit before swinging hard at Terrors face- hopefully harder than he'd been expecting from Zion.

Terror noticed the strength that Lind took and swung at his face, but Terror swiftly brought his arm up to block, and aimed the other to hit a weak spot in the upper arm to make it go numb. "Never said I'd let it connect." Terror knew how to block it and counter because he told Lind what to do, and thus, expected and used strategy to defend himself. But, this was also the best defense against a punch to the jawline. "Cassius' signature move, and that's why he doesn't use it on me when I mess with him."

Zion was surprised when his blow was blocked and yelped when his arm was hit in turn. He fell back, rubbing his arm with a shy smile. "I could've used that on my first day," He offered, hoping to get something of a smile out of Terror. "He really doesn't try to fight you then?" he asked, a bit in awe that Terror could get the best of a hot head like Cassius.

Terror was a little surprised when Zion fell back from his counter, since he didn't exactly push. Though, he had the opening to land a kick if he so desired, but he didn't. He chuckled under his breath. "Right, he got you good that day because you protected your other little friend." Terror's expression changed just as fast as it came as he was now more serious. "No, because I know what he will do. Maybe if he gets a lot bigger then I might have some trouble, but when he gets mad, he doesn't think. He becomes so blind that it is easy to predict. Once you have the instinct to think ahead that fast, it is easy to take him down." Terror paused as he looked up into the sky. "Except with magic. He seems to be pretty skilled it in, so if he gets pissed at you, disarm him immediately."

Zion listened to Terror, taking note of everything he said. His heart twisted a little at the mention of Henry, but he brushed it aside. Sometimes friendships just didn't last. He rolled his arms, trying to shake loose some of the tension. "So once I learn how to defend myself physically, will we practice duelling?" He asked, running a hand through his hair. "Or is the physical defense the end of our deal?" He asked, curious now that the thought was on his mind.

Terror noticed how Zion seemed to not like it when he brought up that first year dorm mate that they had that eventually left the same year. Surely not Cassius' fault, though that would be impressive. Terror chuckled at the thought of training him on dueling. "I said I would help you defend yourself, but I am not a miracle worker." Terror pointed out something he felt was very obvious. "This is all I will teach you since blocking a punch to the face will keep you upright for a while." Terror motioned with his hand. "Shall I demonstrate again?"

Zion couldn't help the way his heart fell a little. Despite the... oddity of this relationship, he wasn't exactly spending much time with other people. Especially since Henry had left. But he pushed it down, and took a deep breath. "Can I try?" He asked, trying to brace himself in case he missed. "Hit me," He clarified, though he somehow knew already it would go terribly.

Terror was a little surprised that Zion would want to try again. Should he go easy on him? Terror entertained the thought but he would figure it out if Zion blocked the move. "Just remember that you asked for it." Terror could counter his own block, but whether or not he would do it, that was another story. He balled his hand into a fist, and sent it toward Zion's jaw. Oh right, he would need to tell Zion that with Cassius, he would need to learn to block it from both sides. That boy was ambidextrous.

Zion already knew this was going to be a long and painful process. But he needed to learn how to defend himself. He did manage to smack Terror's arm just before he was hit. He yelped, stumbling a little. If nothing else, he'd learn how to take a punch. He rubbed at his jaw, straightening up. "Okay... where do I need to smack to stop it?" He asked him.

Terror's fist made contact, but the strike on his arm was really close to the spot that would have numbed his arm. Zion was getting close. At least he didn't fall to the ground. Terror made sure that Zion was looking, and he pointed at the right spot on his arm. "Here. You have to be precise. It is the same spot on each arm. Forgot to tell you. Cassius can fight with both hands. Very well." Terror was not that lucky, but he was still strategic. "It won't stop him from doing anything else, but it should give you time to run or get out your wand."

Zion rubbed his face, and nodded, noting the spot. "Great. So that's going to be fun," He muttered to himself, before taking a breath. "Okay, let's keep going." He took his stance again, tensing. Hopefully with a bit more practice, he'd be able to actually get it. He took deep breaths, trying his best to keep calm even though he knew it was coming.

Lind was a glutton for punishment. Terror didn't want to keep it up until he would break the boy's jaw. "No, that is all for today. We can pick it up on a later schedule, Zion." Terror could see that the boy might need some healing as well, since Terror did actually make contact a couple of times. "You should probably see a nurse or at least rest your face. I don't want to break your jaw, which might happen if you get tired and can't block my punches."

Zion blinked, and unthinkingly touched his jaw. "What, really?" He rubbed his skin. "Okay, maybe you're right," He hesitated a second, and looked back up at Terror, almost shy. "Hey, um... outside of the arrangement and stuff, do you think... maybe we could be friends?" He asked, forcing himself to ask. He was working on not being such a wimp, after all.

Terror nodded since if he said it, there was no chance that he did not mean it (unless he was working to mess with heads, but that was not the case here). Although, Terror liked to think that he was prepared for everything, but Zion threw the f word at him. Friends? "I see this training has given you a bit of courage." Terror could use more people that he could dangle around like a puppet. "Sure, I'll be your friend, Zion."

Zion had been expecting to be turned down- or maybe even hit again- but his entire body relaxed as Terror agreed to be friends. He smiled, his shoulders relaxing. "Do you want to walk back to the castle with me?" He asked, stepping back and hoping that Terror would agree. It would be nice to spend some time with a friend- even a scary one like Terror.
