Second Years Lesson Six

Mallory couldn’t believe that the year had flown by so quickly. She smiled warmly as her students came into the classroom, and once everyone was seated, Mallory stood. “Hello again, my darlings. This is our final lesson of the semester before the exams. Today I would just like you to review what we’ve learned, and come to me if you have any questions about anything. Before we begin, however,” she tucked her hair behind her ear. “I would like to tell you that it has been an absolute pleasure teaching all of you this year. I have seen such remarkable improvements in all of your work. You are all growing into remarkable young witches and wizards.” Mallory smiled and moved back to her desk. “Go on, my dears, I’m here if you need anything.”

Tori was sort of dreading review week, not because she didn’t think she could do it, well, she was a little worried about the exams honestly, but she was concerned that she wouldn’t be able to get her head back in the game for Durmstrang. She was sure it would be fine, but it was hardly something she was specifically willing to risk with everything else. She let the review go in one ear and out the other, but took notes as well, so she could read over them later. She couldn’t believe she wouldn’t be seeing all of her friends for six months. That felt like a lifetime to thirteen year old Tori.

Rose had hardly loved charms, much, or really at all, but she didn’t dislike the professor and she didn’t hate the class much at all either. She just wasn’t really an “in class” person, she much preferred the freedom of the air. There were bits she had enjoyed for sure. She called the professor over to reexplain one of the spells, not really caring which one it was, but she tried to look like she was engaging in the class at least. Collorportus or something about doors. She’d figure it out eventually.

Prim was glad classes were over, they still had a couple of review lessons, but that wasn’t really anything serious. The semester had gone by so fast she was pretty sure she had some whiplash from it. It wasn’t all bad though, she’d enjoyed what they’d learned and she’d watched Eury walk out of enough classes to think she maybe would have to pay more attention next year. Prim glanced at her notes, making extra notes as they reviewed and then glanced up for some support as she waited for the professor to come and explain some of the concepts to her again.

Eury rested her chin on her hand as the professor spoke. Final lesson before the exams. Oh well. She supposed it was best she review her spells with Tizi-nii or Kael-nii soon. She'd already gotten Scourgify down but Repello needed more work but they were getting there in between all the duelling practice that Tizi-nii had been giving her. When the review session began, Eury flipped through her notes lazily, suppressing a yawn. Year-end was always a tiring time. She couldn't even imagine how Elio-nii was holding up. When class was over, Eury packed up her things and went with Prim to ask if she wanted to get some extra studying done.

Asher Styx-Potter was relieved that this was the final week of lessons before they would have to endure exams. Asher did not mind the exams. They were somewhat easy as long as he studied well. Asher had everything ready on his bed. He swiftly grabbed his belongings and left the Gryffindor house so that he could get to his class on time. Asher walked in the Charms classroom and sat down in his seat. Professor Grayveson greeted the second years, and let them know how much she loved teaching them. Asher just smiled. He looked over his notes for the remainder of the time, and got up once the period was over. He was sure that he would do well on his exams.
