The smell of chocolate wafted over her as Lillith waited, two cupcakes in her hand, one for her and one for her date. They were decorated with candy canes, chocolate and the such. She had made them herself of course, in fact she had spent more time making them rather than getting ready for the ball, and they had turned out delicious. Even if her date didn’t like her (which was not possible), he would at least like the cupcakes she made.

Lillith sat and put her cupcakes down beside her, humming along with the song that played in the background. She hoped her partner liked to dance, because that’s what she was in the mood for dancing, that and she wanted to show off the things she learnt in the dance lessons.

@Flynn North

Admittedly, Flynn was not all too sure about this whole 'blind date' thing. He couldn't even think of why he had thought that signing up was a good idea in the first place. But while he was not sure about it, he was not the sort of person to back down so showed up to the ball in the best clothes he owned. The current problem was that he didn't know who Lilith was, not even bothering to try and look up what this girl was supposed to look like. Maybe something he should have considered, but he was now just hoping that maybe she had looked up his face instead so she would actually be able to recognize him.

If not, this was going to be one awkward date trying to find each other.

Lillith waited for a bit longer before deciding to look for him. It had occured to her that maybe he didn’t know her. Well, that would, admittedly be a problem. All she knew was that he was not a hufflepuff, and he had dark-ish hair. She didn’t exactly remember his face, after all she had no reason to pay attention to someone she didn’t know. She did remember his name though, so with cupcakes in hand, Lillith walked around and approached every dark-haired, non-hufflepuff, boy who was alone and asked, “Hi! Are you Flynn North?”

She could of course just have asked if they were “Flynn” but there was a big chance that there were more than one “Flynn”s in this school. Lillith soon started wondering if he’d even come to the ball. He must’ve right? Other than the fact that it was a big party with food and dancing and music, he had also signed up his name, which must mean that he planned to be there.

Just standing there and looking around the room as it filled with people was just a little awkward. Though he supposed it was not outwardly obvious that he was waiting for someone, he could have just come alone as some people did do. But maybe if he couldn't find his date (which doesn't sound too terrible a prospect), then he could go and find someone else. Maybe Finn had decided to come to this shindig as well. Finding the one person in the castle he actually considered a really good friend was a better way to spend his evening than bein stuck here with someone he might not even end up liking very much. Which was a possibility, as was the possibility that whoever this Lilith person was wouldn't like him much, either. But it looked like he didn't have to wait for long, trying not to smile too painfully as a girl came over and asked who he was. "Yeah," he responded, shoving his hands into the pockets of his green pants, "That would be me. Are you Lilith?"

Lillith smiled brightly. After asking a good number of guys she seemed to have gotten the guy right. “Mhmm! I’m Lillith.” She looked down at the cupcakes and for a split moment considered just eating both by herself, but shook the thought away. “Do you want a cupcake?” She asked, offering it to him, a hand slightly outstretched. She hoped he would take it, Lillith didn’t exactly understand people who didn’t like sweets. I mean, what was there not to like? It’s sweet, it’s good and this one was made by her, which already made it a hundred times better. “I made them myself.”

"That's... great," he tried to not sound too disappointed that his date had managed to find him in the crowd of people. A small part of him was still hoping that maybe she wouldn't and then he could make his excuse to leave and go and find Finn or something. But the sudden cupcake being shoved in front of him was a bit of a surprise to Flynn, blinking as he stared at it for just a moment. Was he supposed to bring something to give to her as well? Because he hadn't done anything of the sort. "Oh, um, thanks. It looks really nice," he admitted as he accepted the offered cupcake. And it actually did look pretty good. "So you bake, then, I guess?"

Once he took the cupcake, Lillith started to unwrap the cupcake liner off her treat. The girl decided that she'd done enough polite waiting to eat. She did have the remaining of the batch in her dorms but she had decided to save them for later, and maybe even share with the other puffs. "I know." Lillith grinned, saying it with a tone a little far from humble. She cut the cupcake in half horizontally and put the bottom part on top of the icing like a sandwich, making sure to take the candy canes out first. "Yup! Best baker in Waiheke Island!" She said with the confidence of a kindergarten-er raising their hand to answer a question. This was of course, to a certain degree, false. Lillith licked the chocolate icing off her candy canes and started eating her cupcake. Closing her eyes at the delightful masterpiece that was: chocolate and sugar.

Though Flynn was sure the cupcake would taste very nice, he wasn't exactly very hungry right then. Which did leave him with a bit of a predicament as to what he was supposed to do with the cupcake now. It was not really like he could just put it in his pocket for later. And if he put it down, no doubt someone else would mistake it for something that was being served and take it for themselves. So, he was left standing there rather awkwardly, an equally awkward smile on his face as he listened to what Lilith had to say, though most of his concentration was working out what he was going to do with the cupcake still held in his hand. "Well, at least you sound confident," though he would only really believe her once he did get around to eating her baking himself.
