🌹 Rose Giving Saving the best till last

Hugo was enjoying the rose deliveries. How could he not when the day had started with him receiving a bouquet of pink roses, which made his bucket lookan his deliveries should have left him at this time in a lot fuller ththe afternoon. Every time he looked at them, he thought of Teddy and smiled. He hadn't had a chance to see his boyfriend all day, and he wondered if his boyfriend had received the rose he had sent yet. Though a singular rose did seem somewhat inadequate compared to the half dozen he had been sent. The bucket now contained seven roses, six pink and one last yellow to deliver. one that he had been saving all day. Now he had one last challenge. to find his boyfriend. he knew that he had quidditch practice. but didnt want to ambush him on the pitch. sure they were officially dating and not a secret. But he wasn't usually one ot make a spectacle. Instead, he waited in the courtyard for Teddy to head back into the castle, sitting on a bench, a book, and his late afternoon coffee in his hands. Looking up each time someone passed. eventually, a gabble of voices indicated the approach of the Gryffindor Quidditch team. he slipped the bookmark into place and got up when he saw Teddy approach. he stepped forward. "Happy Valentine's Day, Teddy. thank you so much for the roses. they are so, beautiful" he said stepping closer and reaching to give his boyfriend a hug. "I have a rose for you. not one i sent but one of my deliveries" he said clarifying. he had definatly sent his boyfriend a non yellow rose. but a delivery was a good excuse to see teddy.

Organising rose deliveries with Audrey last year had been fun, but Teddy was happy not to be involved with the planning this time around. All he had to think about was one lot of deliveries and he knew most of the students on his list or where to find them which made the whole thing easy enough. However, in the back of his mind he kept wondering if Hugo had received his bouquet yet.

That thought was on his mind as Teddy made his way back to the castle looking sweaty from practice. Hugo appeared and pulled him into a hug. He beamed when he thanked him for the bouquet. Good, Eli had sent them all, Teddy would have to remember to thank him later. "Yay! I'm glad you liked them," Teddy was pleasantly surprised when Hugo held out a rose of his own. “Oh this must be from one of my other admirers,” he teased then reached for the rose.

hugo held Teddy for a moment he smelled like fresh air, sunshine and exercise all things the he probably didnt get enough of. when he let go the look on teddys face was contagious. " Of course, I like them. How can I not? they are from you" he said before leaning in to give Teddy a quick kiss. He had missed Teddy today. and now he was with him, even if just for a little while did he realise how much.
he went back to his bucket and picked out one of the yellow roses nestled next to all of the pinks. and held it out to Teddy. "It must be, because despite what it looks like it's not from me. And I know for a fact you are admirable" he said "have you gotten the rose from me yet? he added wondering if he had received the single red rose, which didnt seem like much compared with the half dozen pink ones.
