Delilah could almost feel each second as it passed. Each one bringing her closer to graduation and freedom from school and the person she used to be. Some days she felt like she was about to burst with anticipation and others she was absolutely terrified. Today she was somewhere in the middle and was looking for Ivy. She had promised to go over some of their charms work together but as she entered the great hall she couldn't see her friend anywhere. But she did see Flynn. For a moment she considered ignoring him and going to sit at her own table, but she really needed to speak with Ivy.

She had never talked to Flynn much over the years. Yet somehow Delilah had never been free of him. First had been an ill fated blind date to the Yule Ball, then Oleander's, and prefect meetings, and lastly amongst her friends when he started dating Ivy. She would hesitate to speak badly about him but she could hardly say she liked him either. But It looked like he wasn't going to go anywhere soon. She hesitated by the doorway before taking a deep breath and approached the Gryffindor table. "Hello, there." she said with a polite smile and gestured to the empty seat in front of her that was across from him. "Do you mind if I sit here and wait for Ivy?"

The end of the semester was getting incredibly closer and admittedly Flynn still didn't really know what to think about it. It was a good feeling but also weird and just a little bit scary as well to know that in only a couple of short months he was going to be free from school and exams and studying. But really he wasn't trying to think about it too much. Just trying to take things one day at a time and remind himself that he still had NEWTs to be worrying about at the end of the semester - even if he had zero plans of actually studying for them.

He was sat at the end of the Gryffindor table, head ducked as he flicked through the little leaflet he had compiled. He'd been planning this for a while and had started the process of officially changing his surname, but he still had some forms to fill out. And he didn't want anyone to know. It was still a surprise. So, when he suddenly heard Delilah's voice he straightened, quickly shoving the papers into his lap. "Er yeah, I guess. If you want to," he brushed off, trying to pretend that he hadn't been doing anything. "Don't know if she's coming, though."

Delilah told herself that it wasn't too late to leave. Flynn didn't look that happy to see her, not that she could blame him. But she was determined. With a tight smile she sat down but frowned when he said Ivy might not be coming. "She said she would meet me here..." she said mostly to herself and let her voice trail off as she glanced at the doors again. She shook her head and tried to not sound disappointment. "Well I have to eat sometimes." she said and poured herself some tea. Unsurprisingly an awkward silence fell over them and she struggled to find words. Even taking the time to sip her tea didn't provide much inspiration. But eventually she cleared her throat. "I wasn't interrupting you was I? Were you studying for something?" Delilah asked when she realized what he had been looking at had suddenly disappeared.

He simply shrugged a shoulder as Delilah seemed pretty determined about the fact that Ivy was going to be coming. "Alright then," he simply offered, not really having very much to add to that. If they had made plans to meet up, then they had made plans. And while Flynn was sure he could probably tell the girl to leave him alone, he supposed he didn't mind her sticking around and waiting too much. Especially if that did mean he'd see Ivy. "Nope," he straightened somewhat, brushing off the question, "Don't worry about it, wasn't anything important." He was lying, it was quite important to him, but he just didn't want to talk about it.

Delilah was used to feeling uncomfortable. It was the general state she usually lived her life but it seemed to reach a whole new level as she struggled to make small talk. Normally she didn't struggle this hard and she wasn't sure what was at fault. "Oh alright." she said but wasn't entirely convinced. His posture straightened which lead her to believe it wasn't exactly nothing. But in the end it wasn't her business so she shrugged it off too. She served herself some eggs and toast and poked at it halfheartedly. "So...are you going to be staying at Ollivander's after graduation?" she asked tentatively. It was something she wondered about, especially when they worked the same shifts at the wand shop during the back to school rush. Flynn never seemed to really enjoy his time there, as far as she could tell, so it felt like a reasonable question.
