running barefoot

Minoas' smile widened when Briar asked him if he was intending to bother all of the professors.
"Of course not and even if I had to, I would be avoiding to visit the office of professor Styx." he said, imagining his office as a dungeon full of embalmed creatures and jars containing parts of animals in slimy substances.
"Better depend on yourself than on others. When you'll graduate you won't have Hogwarts hospital wing to provide you so it's better to get used to it and master brewing the specific one." he pointed out, agreeing with her initiative of making her own supplies.

"What if it isn't an ordinary snake and it is a gigantic one?" he asked as he couldn't imagine a huge snake turning into a small snapped twig. "Maybe if a turn the splinching person into professor Styx being spliched, that could work for me!" he exclaimed with his macabre idea which wasn't a good one as professor Styx would be present at his first ecounter with a boggart as his was the professor of defence against the dark arts.
He decided not to worry about it too and that it would come to him naturally when the time was right.
"That's a state of defence as well for my ego!" he defended himself for saying that in the end of the match.
"It wasn't exactly me talking back then. I was frustrated with the outcome." he gave another shot to redeem himself from the title of the troublemaker.

"That sounds like a full schedule. Good for you!" he said as she had a lot of things to catch up with.
"I'll be going back home, visit relatives and my grandparents that I have missed so much. Maybe travel around Europe with my parents. I would also have some lessons with my educator. This time I'll have to practise with the bow and maybe stealth. Centauric things I guess." he said with a shrug
.

yeah professor Styx is not really a good professor to bother, though i have ended up bothering him at least twice. fifth year it was with professor Kingsley in order to get one of his students punished, and then last year i had to take extra defence against the dark arts classes as i didn't get high enough in my OWLS to go through to NEWT course."[/b] she said, they hadn't ben too enjoyable, a creepy professor in a creepy room but there were some advantages too it, firstly it could be another excuse as to where she had been during the full moon, and secondly it meant she could to that course this year and she had done well, and was actually achieving O's for it. "that was my thinking, one day the school wont be able to supply me, and i am sure the hospital has more on their hands than to give out the potions." she said. besides although a backup plane was good, she would rather be able to keep herself sorted.
"well if it is a huge snake make it a huge branch, a log or something. hang on, make it a giant jelly snake, that cant be scary at all." she said the last idea exiting her. jelly snakes were nice, and were a quick energy boost when she was feeling really low near a full moon, though she still preferred natural foods. "professor styx splinched probably wouldn't be a good plan as he is the professor for that subject, you would probably have a little more to worry about than a boggart if it turned into that." she said, there was something about the man she didn't like but she didn't now what.
when he stood up for himself, she tittered, "alright, alright calm down. I wasn't meaning to insult you at all. it was just a light comment." she said. shaking her head slightly. "yeah, its going to be a good holiday hopefully. she said, It would be rather full but that was how she liked life things always going on, doing nothing bored and frustrated her. "you sound like you have a good holiday planned too. bow and arrow is one of the best tools for hunting, I don't know why muggles use gins, they are so loud that the animal has already nun off, arrow are a lot quieter and more effective, and stealth is useful as there is no point having a good bow if the animal can hear you a mile away" she said. she envies his relationship with his tutor slightly, she would be returning home to the forest she had grown up in for the first time in six and a half years over the break, but the problem was that she knew as soon as there was tracks of centaurs about she would have to leave as she had been kicked out of the heard and was an outcast. if she returned they had the right to attack her.

Minoas didn't know that his sister had those two close encounters with his least favourite professor.
"I hope I'll never have to bother him. Attending his classes is more than enough for me." he remembered each time he was entering the dim lit classroom, under the piercing, cold sight of the professor.
"I don't usually judge people without getting to know them but there's something on that person that doesn't feel right. I could swear that he's planning to take the headmaster's post and take over the school. I bet he would love to teach dark arts and get rid of all the houses except Slytherin." he slandered about his professor, joking at the most part as his ideas were farfetched but were inspired by the mysterious and dark aura that the professor was surrounded.

His grey eyes gained an excited intensity as Briar had a very resourceful idea.
"That could work pretty well Bri. It's a great idea and pretty hilarious." he said as he liked the idea of a giant jelly snake, wobbling and collapsing on the ground. "I'll be prepared now. Thanks!" he thanked her. He might have a lot of time until he was going to face an actual boggart but better be prepared than clueless when a giant snake was going to slither around defence against the dark arts classroom.
"Oh no, you didn't insult me. I'm trying to convince myself that I do all this for a better reason and not just for causing mischief." he mentioned, not really managing to convince even himself.

He wasn't surprised that Briar was finding archery cool. Probably she wa a good archer, brought up with centaurs meant that she was at least good with the bow. "I wish that the bow they are going to give me, won't be as tall as me." he hoped as he had seen what kind of bows centaurs were using. They were quite big for a twelve year old.
"I'm sure that stealth will take me some time. You have to know first your environment when it comes to it and I'm sure that there will always be a damn twig, snapping underneath my feet." he said with a smile.
"What I have missed and I want to do on my holidays, is swimming. I can't wait to go for some snorkeling with my cousins." he mntioned one of the hobbies he liked but he hadn't the chance to do in Hogwarts. The lake didn't appeal to him. He wasn't feeling that its murky waters were trustworthy.

Briar smiled at minoas's expression when she told him about her encounters with professor Styx. "he isn't my favourite but hr is a good teacher. he knows what he is talking about she said though she wasn't a huge fan of the professor she enjoyed his classes. "I hope that you are not right" she said shaking her head, she could tell that he was joking, but there was an atmosphere about that man.
she laughed at his response to her idea it had come to her in a flash and she didn't know where form. "I do have a good idea every now and then, though not often" she said winking. "I bet that boggart wont know what hit him." she said laughing, though the talk of jelly snakes made her want to eat one, unfortunately that wasn't something she usually kept i her bag.
you don't need to convince yourself, you do what you do, you wouldn't be Minoas if you didn't. and you wouldn't be my brother if you didn't cause mischief"[/b] she said. she had met loads of people in the school but the two she had bonded closest with she had met in the forest. that wasn't a coincidence. she had ties to the forest, and formed ties wit people in it, not everyone from there but some. her brother and sister mainly.
when he said about the bow and arrow she thought back to when she was young. she had been using a bow and arrow since she was about six or seven. "they do have different types of bows, long ones are good as they shoot far, and can easily fit over their shoulder. but i used to use a small one, it was easier to fire but wasn't as powerful and didn't go as accurately. "yeah, stealth is something that you may need to work on, though once you get the hang of it walking silently is easy even through autumn leaves." she said. she wasn't perfect at it, but she was pretty food, and she knew where to put her feet cut she would get too impatient and rush ahead. "that sounds like fun" she said though she wasn't entirely sure what snorkelling was, she knew that it was something like swimming, not her strength. but she knew her brother did enjoy being in the water.

"Okay, I'll have to give him credit for his teaching." he back down a little his dislikeness and he tried to be objective. "Nah, I'm just kidding." he shook his head with a smile. "But seriously, he makes death eaters look like freaking school girls." he joked as he could imagine them getting intimidated by his presence as well.
Minoas liked a lot Briar's idea about his boggart. Now all he wanted was to face one and see if that genius idea of her would work. "I don't know what you believe. All I have to say is that today you had a streak of inspiration." he said as she had provided him with so many ideas. "I would love to see Styx's face when I'll manage to repel my boggart so easily." his overconfidence obscuring the fact that he would have to actually face first a giant snake. It was easy to use words but in reality it could be far from easy.

He had the impression that Briar told him that he should do wha he had to do just to prevent him for overthinking. The young lion knew that eventually in the end he was going to have enough of his reckless ideas and grow up. So he wanted to enjoy every single adventurous idea he was coming up with.
"I was sure that you knew how to use a bow. Maybe I'll be lucky and have a normal size bow that it won't be difficult to depent." he hoped although he had the impression that his educator was going to make his life miserable to toughen him up. "Exploring the seabed is always fun. All you need is a mask and a snorkel and then just swimming for hours, observing the underwater attractions." he said, already daydreaming putting on his mask and diving into the water. He knew that Briar wasn't really fond of water and that she couldn't really feel his excitement but it was logical since she was brought up in forests by centaurs.
"One year to go and then you graduate..." he pointed out after a short pause, wondering what was she feeling about her last year at Hogwarts.

Briar nodded in agreement when he said that the professor was a good teacher. "he has been in the school an awful lot longer than many of the other professors." she said. the turn over of teachers was fairly rapid most teachers hardly lasting more than a year, but Professor styx had been there for at least six, and she was sure he had been there before she had started too. she shook her head when she said that they made death eaters look like school girls. "I wouldn't know I have never met a death eater myself" she said she had heard their reputation, but not much more, she hadn't experienced their actions, or spoken to anyone how had.
she smiled when he said that she had had a streak of inspiration "well you mush have caught me on a good day. but now my weeks supply of inspiration has been used up" she chuckled. she smiled at his confidence in repelling the bogart. sometimes they weren't as east to repel as you thought, but she would not ruin his good moon, the last one she had faced had almost gotten to her. her sister calling her names, but that was before the news had gotten out.
Briar nodded when he said that he thought she knew how to use a bow. "If you are really worried about size, I have a slightly smaller one in my dorm that i made for a Halloween costume last year, it isn't fine tuned, but it is pretty good, and it won't take long to tune it" she said thinking about it. it was a good pice of wood. it just tended to send arrows slightly down and to the left, but that would be easily fixed with a few modifications. "snorkelling sounds interesting, but I think i will give i a pass" she said, it sounded claustrophobic to her, and what sort of attractions were there underwater that she couldn't find on land, she didn't know. she rolled her eyes when he said one year left, "as everyone reminds me, I hope next year will be slightly quieter than this year." she said. not quieter less busy she liked being busy, but quieter less drama, she had been in the centre of a fair bit of drama on the last school year, starting with her sister falling out with her and trying to curse her, and ending in the gossip magazine. "and you will be in third year, third year is pretty good" she said. though to be honest all of her earlier years had mixed together slightly in her memory, so some of the stuff she thought had happened in third yea may have been second or forth.

Minoas was informed that Styx was a professor for a quite long time in Hogwarts. He also knew that he used to teach herbology once. "And he had to drop herbology for defence against the dark arts?" he added, straight after Briar, quite indignant for taking over that sibject. "It would be my favourite subject if he wasn't teaching it." he explained his sudden indignation, refering to defence against the dark arts. "Me neither and I hope I don't." he said about the death eaters, listening now and then from his father about their deeds. He knew that there were other groups of dark magic practitioners around the world but death eaters were the most prominent in New Zealand.

"Don't worry. That was enough inspiration to absorb out of you for today." he chuckled as he wasn't planning to occupy himself further with his extracurricular ideas. He was already spending enough energy on things that he shouldn't focus on at that time. "Let us enjoy our holidays first and we'll see what we can make of our next year." he said, not rushing for anything. Suddenly, his attention was caught by the pointers of his wrist watch. "Zeus' Thunderbolt!" he exclaimed, almost jumping on his feet. "I can't comprehend sometimes how time flies away!" he said and stoop up. "Sorry Bri but I must go. Have to revise history of magic." he explained his sudden change of mood.
"Thanks for hanging around with me and making me forget about exams for a couple of hours." he said. It was a nice break from books and notes. "If I don't see you around or at the end of the year feast, have awesome holidays and we'll keep in touch with owls. Take care!" he waved at her as he was walking away, almost tripping on a rock in his rush to return back to his revision post.

Briar shrugged. she didn't trust Professor Blaze much either, he had been the one who was there when madlyns farther had been killed and he hadn't done anything to it, and he had told Madlyn and herself about it but not how, that they had had to work out themselves. "Year, and we now have professor blaze for that class" she said mealy stating a fact, not telling him of her view on him. she smiled when he said that he didn't want to meet a death eater. she was glad that there were some risks that he didn't want to take.
he checked his watch and started to leave. "do you want the bow? if you do i will fix it up for you" she said serious with her offer. she watched as he stood up "nah, it was nice talking to you. I am sure I will see you before the end of year feast but hey, food luck studying" she said before he headed towards the castle. she stretched out once more. she was cool after her run now and hungry. her stomach started gurgling so she got up and headed up to the castle after her brother, not to study, but to eat. then the afternoon she would find a training room and practice some spells. she wanted to get as many spells as she could down pact non verbally as she could.
