Rose for a new 'Puff

Maddie had decided that rather than go all the way up to the Divination Tower she would try Professor Pratt's new office in the Hufflepuff House instead. She waited outside the Hufflepuff common room and hoped that she would be able to either find a Hufflepuff that she knew, or, even, Professor Pratt herself.

 

[Kennedy Pratt]

Kennedy had just finished up her work in the Divination tower and had already received a rose from Eduardo while up in the tower, so she figured it would be safe to leave and go back to her office in the Hufflepuff common room where only the Hufflepuffs could enter. She didn't think she'd be getting any other roses. As she walked up to the portrait entrance, she saw a girl waiting outside and she wondered if she had forgotten the password. "Hi there," she greeted the student. "Did you need help honey?" she asked.

Maddie smiled at Professor Pratt, she had never really interacted with the Professor before but she seemed really nice. "Hi Professor, I have a rose for you" she said as she handed over the rose and the note that came with it.

[Kennedy Pratt]

Kennedy was still getting used to being in charge of an entire House of students rather than just a handful in her classes, so she wasn't sure whether the girl in front of her was a Hufflepuff or not. She smiled, pleasantly surprised that she had another rose and took the yellow rose from the girl. She took it gently from her and opened the card to read it. Once she saw who it was from, Kennedy was pleasantly surprised yet again.

When Kennedy first arrived at Hogwarts she hadn't expected to stay as long as she had so she hadn't bothered to make very many friends with her colleagues, but now that she was the Hufflepuff Head of House, she knew she was here to stay. The two women had always been cordial to each other but now with this rose, Kennedy felt she should start making an effort to get to know the Ancient Runes professor better. Not only did she have more experience as a professor at Hogwarts, but she was also a Head of House as well; she could learn a lot from her. Plus, it'd be nice to hang out with a fellow woman in the lounge every once in a while instead of always gravitating towards the gaggle of men: Eduardo, Jon, or Maurice. Kennedy was taken out of her thoughts and looked up at the girl who had given her the rose. "Thank you," she said with a happy smile. She was in even higher spirits after receiving this rose and was rather fond of all the roses she had gotten this year.
