sam, i'm here! meet me in the courtyard in ten?

te amo chulo,

as hurriedly as the note had been scripted upon the parchment, it had been tied to the leg of an owl and sent away to her beloved addressee. indianna was barely capable of containing the excitement that riveted her petite body as she fitted the cork on her bottle of ink and plopped it into her handbag. thus far, the transfer student had only been at hogwarts new zealand for the last half of the hour, an unproductive half of the hour at that. her bags still lay in a cluttered heap at the foot of her dorm bed, her classes were still in the midst of organisation for the following day but the seventeen year old was far from caring. in fact, she would have written to her boyfriend sooner were it not for the eager second year student in the common room that had insisted on giving her a tour of the castle. indi had been far too polite to refuse when the younger girl obviously took a certain pride in no longer being the new kid in the corridors, one that indi was positive the second year would have shouted out the school already if she could have. as indi had climbed the moving staircases and peeked out stained glass windows to all sorts of places that were pointed out to her, the raven-haired girl had hoped that she might have bumped into sam along the way, wishful thinking of course. no matter, indi now shrugged to herself as her dainty fingers worked on knotting her handbag shut, at least now thanks to the younger student she could plan for a place to meet him. leaving her luggage unzipped and untouched, the seventeen year old finally charmed her bag into cooperating and danced from her dorm room in a pair of camel coloured ugg boots.

the afternoon seemed to be hurried on its way to being over as indianna stepped out of the castle and onto the unfamiliar school grounds. the sun was burning low in the sky, slicking the surrounding hills in a peachy pink and bouncing almost harshly off the lake in the distance. her eyes scoped the grand view of the new zealand landscape and a warm feeling pricked itself up inside of her almost instantaneously. beauxbatons had never managed to stir with her stomach like these to produce such a sense of homeliness, and merlin, she had been there for six years. perhaps it was for the sake of sam being here, or maybe it was because she was in a school that spoke her first language and not her third. it could have, of course, been the fact that her mother now didn’t have to work until she collapsed just to make a living. but right here, in this moment, as she found a bench by a rosebush and perched herself upon it, all that indianna could think of was sam prince. the way he made her feel was in such an out of this world kind of way that she found that she had to pinch herself every so often just to check that her relationship with him was real. the holidays had seen sam and indi attempt to cram as much time with each other in what time they’d had free. the pending nature of her application to transfer had been rather daunting in the way that it would be the deciding factor as to whether they’d be able to enjoy a normal relationship, not one that placed them half a world away from each other. but now here she was, almost feeling as if she were in the midst of a fairytale, wondering honestly how it could possibly get any better. but indianna knew she’d be pleasantly surprised, sam had a way about him like that.

fiddling with the navy blue stitching of her sleeve, indi couldn’t help but to smirk at the subconscious decision she’d made to wear her house colours. judging by what sam had told her of the different houses, the girl had had an inkling that ravenclaw would be like the jam to her toast, it had her name written all over its academic ambition and quiet, amiable students. admittedly, she would have loved to have been sorted into her boyfriend’s house too but being that she was so far from both of the other two houses, indianna was definitely pleased with the decision of the sorting hat. she wished that audrey could be here too, most likely grinning over her sorting into gryffindor like the bold little thing she was. but her best friend was back in france, after spending the summer in new zealand now that indianna had moved there too, so she would just have to settle for letters and hope that sam would put up with her blabber. two years ago, the latina definitely would not have ever in her wildest of day dreams managed to conjure up an image of her pouring her heart out to a boy like sam. or just a boy, period. Their entire gender had had her quivering in her boots. Until sam had wandered into her life by tossing his change into her guitar case and had shaken her world up until it could take no more. he had changed her completely and all for the better, sealing the deal when he’d told her that he loved her. indianna knew she hadn’t ever known a more glorious feeling than love in the entire world and likely never would.
