Alice stepped outside onto the great lawn. She had never been a great outdoors person. This was probably because she mainly associated outdoors with pe - her least favourite muggle past time and subject. However, Hogwarts seemed to have had a different effect on her, and now she liked to be outside in the sun or cold. Not loved, but liked. Today, with her having nothing to do, she decided to just go and sit. She had read all of her Hogwarts books, and all the 20 books that she had brought over with her from England. She had used the school owls to send a letter over to them, asking them for some more books, specific ones that she had chosen for a reason.

Looking around her, she saw many people sitting, reading, chatting and kissing. Yes, kissing. Alice raised her eyebrows slightly, laughing gently. IF she had a boyfriend, she wouldn't sit out of the great lawn, attached to him like a leech and kissing him as if there was no tomorrow. Deciding to give the sad couple a little bit more privacy, she turned her back and walked in the opposite direction, towards a tree. Sitting down by the tree, she closed her eyes and let the atmosphere sink into her bones. Patience wasn't a word that instantly came to mind when discussing Alice, but it was something that she was fairly good at. She had planned to draw a picture to send to her parents, who admired her drawings. Knowing that they were muggles and that they wouldn't be able to see the school as she did, she decided that she would send them an image from her own mind.

Danielle walked outside with her sketch pad. She couldn't draw - at all. But she liked doing it anyway. She could only draw Suns, and even those weren't very good. But she liked it anyways. She walked around looking for a place to sit. She knocked off the places where people were kissing - it made her feel awkward. She then saw her friend Alice drawing also, ao she headed towards Alice. Danielle didn't want to scare her while she was drawing, because she could have messed up, she when Danielle saw herstop she said, "Hey Alice!" Danielle smiled towards her, and sat down. "So whats up, my Raveclaw bud?" Danielle asked.

Alice looked up as someone addressed her. Smiling and jumping up, she gave Danielle a big hug. A friend was just what Alice needed at that moment and, like a saviour, Danielle had appeared. "Hey! Good thanks." She said quickly, not wanting to burden her troubles on Danielle just at the moment. She still felt bad with what had happened with Isobel and Ryan, and didn't want to make Danielle feel any worse. "Hows Gryffindor?" She asked, curious how Danielle was since they had last seen and spoken. "I just knew that you would get into there." She added, feeling on top of the world with Danielle's presence.

Danielle smiled as Alice hugged her. She was a great friend, and Danielle very much liked her. "Great! As am I!" Danielle said, after Alice. Alice was very sweet, and smart, so she knew she would get Ravenclaw. "Gryffindor, is great, it seems, out of my friend group I am the only one of them! Hooray for umm, me!" Danielle laughed. She always had a good time with Alice she could be funny. "Well, thanks! I knew you would get Ravenclaw, Miss-I-Like-To-Be-Smart!" Danielle laughed. "So Anything new?" Danielle asked nicely.

Alice laughed along with Danielle. "Im not that smart." She mumbled, embarrassed slightly. "Nothing really? How are you since, since, well since the whole thing with Ryan and Isobel, and Ryan and Jaedan?" She asked, unsure whether this was a sensitive subject or not.

(OOC: Sorry for the lame post :p )

"Sure, your not!" Danielle laughed, Alice was very nice and cool. She seemed cool, and real. "I'm been fine since those, b**ches wanted my man. They are idots, I hete them, both of them." Danielle said rolling her eyes thinking about them, she did honestly hate, they both were terribe.

Alice breathed a sigh of relief. She had been worried that Danielle would get upset, but now realised that her brave friend probably wouldn't do that unlike her. "Well, i hate Isobel. Im just confused about Jaedan. She said some harsh things but i don't think that she meant them." She paused here, reflecting over the things that Jaedan had said to her. "But im glad that you two are still fine." She said warmly, actually please for the pair of them. "But, im just curious, how do you find him being in Slytherin? I mean, aren't Slytherin and Gryffindor meant to be arch enemies?" She asked, a frown covering her face. She had wondered since the sorting ceremony why Ryan was in Slytherin, he had always seemed so nice and friendly to her. She didn't want to add that Isobel was pleased, because this felt harsh to Danielle.

"Me too. I hate Isobel. I hate Jaedan too. I think she meant what she said. She thinks she is popular when she is not, you have more friends then her Alice. And even if you don't you have me." Danille smiled. Alice was a great friend, and Danielle wanted to be a great friend back. Alice is absolutely a best friend to Danielle. "Yeah, me and Ryan are fine - its the girls really." Danielle said, huffing at them. "Meh. Whatever I don't care, but of course Nick, and Isobel have to be in the same, house." Danielle rolled her eyes just thinking about that.

Alice laughed softly at Danielle's insistence that she didn't like Jaedan. "I suppose so." She said, secretly agreeing with what was said about trying to be popular. "I don't think im that popular. Well i wasn't at my old school, it was the girls who spent their weekends with boys and who kissed everyone in sight. Like Isobel, really." She said, sighing. She had hoped that Hogwarts wouldn't be like it, but she had yet to find out.

"Well, its true. Don't try to hide it Alice. Scream it! ~ JAEDAN FEANOR WANTS TO BE POPULAR! ~ Being popular deons't even matter, though. Don'tcha think?" Danielle told Alice. It was true though, Danielle didn't think being popular meant anything. "Even if you aren't. Like I said, you have me."Danielle smiled. She laughed slightly at Alice's comment on Isobel. It sounded like her. "My first kiss was Ryan. Who was yours? Or did it not happen yet?" Danielle asked, nicely.

Alice laughed. She had to agree with Danielle, everything that Jadean did, suggested that she wanted to be popular. Alice never really thought about herself being popular, because she knew it went to your head and she found it irritating when others let it cover themselves. But, she didn't want to ***** about someone who she wasn't sure about, so she just smiled and nodded. "I don't care about popularity. In my opinion, the people who think they are popular, end up becoming bigheaded and then have no friends. Its having real friends that count, like you." She said warmly, smiling over at Danielle. "Wow, my first kiss. Well, it was this horrible boy, i was going out with him before i came to New Zealand. We had been like best friends since reception, and well he asked me out. In a friendly way. We went out for a little, and kissed. Not against a will, but just in the 'going out way' that 11 year olds do." She said, thinking how much she had matured in the few weeks that she had spent by herself in New Zealand. "But anyway, 1 day, i came across him snogging Isobel. She was just angry at me because i know why she hates everyone and life. Im not sure if it was him or her that started it, but neither of them were trying to stop. So i dumped him and left for New Zealand the next day. He has written to me, thinking it was his fault that i have left the continent, but i have been pretending that i haven't got the letters. Immature really." She finished, sighing as she thought of the friendship that was now ruined by her hateful cousin. "So thats my story, and that is why i am now mistrustful of boys. Not that i am interested in any, and i highly doubt that any of them are interested in me." She said, laughing slightly. She had found it easier to talk about now, but originally she had found it too hard, and used to cry when she thought about how upset she had been. "But please don't tell anyone." She added, hoping that she was right when she thought that she could trust Danielle with a secret.

Danielle was mostly always truthful. So saying she didn't like someone, or what she felt about them didbn't scare her in the slightest. "Me either. It seems stupid." Danielle said bluntly. She thought Alice was a true friend also. But Danielle just smiled. She didn't have any comment. She was just happy. Danielle listen intetly to Alice's story. She said some occasional, "Oh!" or a "Are you joking?". Danielle never knew why people were evil. What did they gain? Nothing at all. "I hate Isobel. Such a jerk. Why is she evil, what happened to her?" Danielle asked, thinking about how annoyingly obnoxious Isobel is. "Alice. Never." Danielle laughed. Danielle could keep secrets forever.

Alice smiled at Danielle, she knew that she could trust her and felt stupid for ever doubting Danielle to keep a secret. She wasn't happy to tell Danielle Isobel's secret, because she had promised her parents that she wouldn't. Ignoring the question and hoping that no more would be asked, she just sat there, smiling. Telling people's secrets was what Isobel did, and Alice wouldn't sink to that level unless they were her own, giving her the right to share them. She knew what was bothering Isobel, and although she had to guess at some facts, she still couldn't work out why it affected Isobel's actual character. She guessed that there was something deeper troubling her, considering that Isobel had been mean for as long as Alice could remember. Smiling at Danielle, she sat there, unsure of what to say or do next.
