After the lessons..

Mark didn't have any idea what to do after his lessons. He felt a bit tired, although he didn't just want to go to common room and spend his time there. It was the best time for him to explore the castle, to see all the rooms. Mark still felt pretty lonely, he got to talk to Eric and that was a big achievement for him already, because his shyness was hard to break through. Mark was wandering around fourth floor and he noticed a lounge. He heard older students talk about a room where everyone could go, all students could just play games there or meet not depending on what house or what year they were in - and this room clearly looked like it could be the one.

He went inside the room to notice how huge it was. Mark didn't have any idea what he could do there being alone. The boy walked around the room and no one was there. This lounge had a lot of wizarding games and Mark couldn't help himself but check all the games out. He only hoped that one day there would be some students that he could call his friends not just acquaintances. Mark also noticed a fireplace and he immediately went next to it.

Mark grabbed a scarlet&gold blanket that also had a Gryffindor emblem on it and placed it on his shoulders. He sat on a sofa and started looking at the fireplace. He let his thoughts take him away from reality as he fell asleep on the sofa..

The first nights in the new home at Hogwarts were great. The newlessons were over and Jarica was relieved to be able to get along witheverything and find a great deal of enthusiasm to learn everythingagain. She knew little about the magic world as her dad had told herdaughter. On the way from hours, she had entered the reading room topick up a book called Lightning Thief. Jarica liked to often read newbooks that wrapped up with legends, myths about gods and theirorigins.

Jarica saw the fireplace and went straight, but as shecame closer she could see that the place was busy. But also she want todisturb the boy, who was sitting on the sofa and looking from thesidelines when he had thought. Hi, Can i join with you, if you doint mind? Jarica asked and she was smiling at the boy.

Mark even had a pretty good dream for those 5 minutes that he had got to sleep without being disturbed by anyone. Boy had a dream about being in Canada with his best friend, Paul, and just running around and afterwards talking about how beautiful is life and how both of them are going to be millionaires. After a while, Mark snapped because a voice of a girl made him open his eyes and looked at her. He didn't recall seeing the girl before and she seemed very friendly as she had a smile on her face.

- Umm, okay? Mark looked at her, looking a little bit confused and saying it in not that loud voice as she has just woke up from his little nap. He fixed the blanket he had on his shoulders and looked at the fireplace. Mark really wanted to get to spend time alone, at least a little bit, but as every moment passed, it made him realise that it wasn't that easy in this big castle. Mark just starred at the fireplace, almost falling asleep again, although he managed to keep his eyes open.

The thread of thought broke out when she met the boy's gaze. It was noteasy to come into the pack, but it had to be fought for his place insurvival. She hoped she would find new friends here and meet them.Perhaps Jarica looked shy and fearful, but it wasn't. Jarica opened herbook and began to read, because she didn't know anything else to dotonight, and there were no real friends.

Mark didn't really understand what the girl wanted from him and why she'd even ask for permission of joining him, if she didn't show any interest of talking to him. Of course, society had a stereotype that boys should be the ones to start the conversation, but Mark was shy and that was exactly what stopped him for saying something or trying to start a conversation with a girl he doesn't even know. Mark didn't look at her anymore, he kept staring at the fireplace, although in his mind he tried to figure out, who is she and what house is she from, as he clearly didn't remember her from the house meeting, but then again - there were way too much people for him to remember everyone.

Mark looked at the girl as she began reading a book. If he wanted to, he could try and break this silence, although girl seemed to be way too focused on reading and Mark didn't want to interrupt her, so Mark decided just to fix his blanket and try to fall asleep again. He put his legs on the sofa, looked at the fireplace and tried to keep his eyes open, hoping that maybe the girl would be the one to say something and if not, Mark was more than ready to fall asleep again, because looking at the fire made Mark want to sleep more.

This momemt was a litle bit strange. She looked at him and he looked at the girl. She looked at his egs on the sofa. Jarica understood that she needed to be first one to talk, if not he would fall asleep again. So Jarica started talking to him, still being a little bit shy, and she closed her favourite book. - My name is Jarica, it's my first year at Hogwarts and I'm a bit shy.. What's your name? She asked him and started smiling, she hoped that this talk would turn out to be good and that she would make a new friend.

It took a while for the girl to say something. Mark couldn't help but notice that the girl even closed her book just to start talking to him. Mark still didn't look at her when she started talking, but after she finished, he looked at her. - I'm Mark Ross, I'm from Gryffindor.. Mark gave her his hand for her to shake as a gesture of trying to be nice. Girl mentioned that she was shy, although Mark didn't want to say that out loud. It was hard for him to admit to himself, it wouldn't be that easy to say it to someone else.

Mark realised that he had to start making first moves if he wanted to meet new people and make new friends. He didn't know what he could possibly ask her, but then he remembered that Jarica was reading a book. -What were you reading? Mark said it in a quiet, shy voice, although he hoped that she wouldn't notice that. Mark kept staring at the fireplace, from time to time fixing his blanket on his shoulders. He also realised that it was a second time that a scene liked this happened to him, just in the common room not here.

Despite the fact that the conversation between them seemed a little stillclumsy. But, she decided not to look at it, because she knew there was always an awkward moment in life when the young people would be ableto laugh at memorable memories later on. Very pleasing to meet you,you have a very nice name Mark! Jarica smiled at the young peopleand provided her hand to squeeze it tightly and then let go.

After hearing the boy's question, Jarica looked at his book and said. This is one of my favorite books, called the Lightning Thief, anddescribed there as a modern world in which Greek myths are reality. It was a small part of the story, but it would be better he read himself not Jarica tell him about this story.

- Thank you, I guess.. Mark looked at the girl and didn't know what to say. He felt a little bit anxious because he didn't know what to expect from this conversation. Jarica seemed like a person who was just looking for friends, although Mark's shyness was breaking through and it made him hard to speak with anyone.

Mark listened to Jarica's answer.
- Interesting.. He didn't know anything else he could say. Mark looked at the fireplace and hoped that the girl would be the one to bring this conversation to life. She didn't seem to be that shy if she could come to him and start speaking first.

Ur Velcome! The smile didn't fade from Jarica's face, though the awkward moment between them was still not over and her thoughts on reading the book slipped into the other plan.

She didn't really know what else to tell about the book, but she didn't think it was so important for Mark. It seemed to Yard that she could see something in Mark's eyes that did not suggest a dreadful friendship. It must be because of her attitude. You're a fool, Jarica! She thought to herself and opened her book to read a little and then go to bed.

The girl seemed to be shy herself, because Jarica couldn't manage to keep the conversation herself. Mark was used to not being able to keep a dialogue going, but he always thought that being in Hogwarts meant that most of the people should have been brave and able to talk with anyone they meet on the way and that made Mark question his being in Gryffindor once again.

Mark just kept staring at the fireplace, not knowing what to say to Jarica. Keeping the silence for more than 5 minutes, Mark fell asleep on the sofa once again.

When Mark sleap, she close the book and she left Mark alone. Jarica feel a litlle tired and she go to the bed.
