Estrella was rather excited about the task Professor Heimdall had given herself and her classmate. Casting runes for people outside of class was daunting, but it seemed like it would be fun at the same time. Rather unsure of where to settle, considering she wanted to be in a place with a lot of traffic, she decided on the gardens. They were fairly decent this time of year, and had plenty places to sit on. Finding a decorative metal table that remained a pearly white- she wondered if the Groundskeeper had cast Impervious on it- she sat down, bag of runes in hand. She played with the coin purse, figuring that next time in Brightstone she would have to pick up something that you really used to hold runes. The Ravenclaw wondered who would stumble upon her today. Maybe some lucky couple would get their fortune read? It was all up to fate. She hadn't taken Divination, but she wondered if this was similar. Runes had seemed much more interesting in any case.

Kat had been in the library for the better part of the day reading over some things for Arithmancy that she was having some problems understanding. After a while she started getting a little drowsy and decided that she'd probably better get up and do some walking around. With that she packed up her school bag and headed outside since it was quite a nice day. Kat walked across the lawn and past the lake making her way to the gardens. She hadn't been in here for a good long while and with good reason...brought back too many memories that she wanted desperately to keep buried. Sucking it up like a big girl she went in anyways and walked around for a few minutes when she saw Estrella sitting at a table. With her curiosity sparked Kat walked over to the Head Girl and said, "Hey Estrella! So what is all this?"

Estrella smiled broadly as someone she recognized approached her table. She was grateful for this stroke of luck, considering it would have been awkward anyway to ask to read a stranger's fortune. "Hey Kat!" she replied enthusiastically, "Enjoying the weather?" The Ravenclaw gave her bag of runes a little shake as she glanced back to the girl, elaborating on her answer. "Well, there's this assignment I have to do for runes, and I was actually waiting around for someone to help with it. Care to have a rune read?" The girl personally didn't like the one rune draw, as it was rather quick and could be hazy in meaning.

Hoping that she was being convincing, she added, "It would take all of a minute." She smiled broadly, careful to exhibit her pearly whites. If Kat agreed she could get this assignment done and over with, and pursue other interests.

"The weather is great, especially for this time of year!" Kat said with a grin. She walked over to the table to get a closer look at exactly what it was Estrella was talking about. Letting her curiosity get the better of her she said, "Might be fun to find out what my future holds or whatnot! Sure I'll do it!" Kat herself hadn't taken runes and was curious to see what it was all about.

Estrella grinned back at Kat, glad that she would be able to get her assignment done so quickly. Her dark eyes reflecting gratitude, she exclaimed, "Thank you! It means a lot!"

The Ravenclaw bit her lip as she tried to remember exactly how to do this. Professor Heimdall had said something about having the querent ask a question. She could do this as many times as she wanted if she so desired.

"So- uhm- just take a seat, and ask any question! I think you're supposed to keep it as simple as possible... But don't worry about it too much! And if you have more questions we can keep doing this." A wide smile broke out on her face as she jarred around her coin purse, figuring that it wouldn't hurt to mix up the runes a little more and let fate really decide.

"Happy I could help!" Kat said genuinely as she took a seat in front of the older girl. She wasn't really sure what kind of question to ask as she really wasn't sure what exactly she wanted to know about her future. Without much thought she asked, "What career will I have once I leave here?" Kat knew it sounded stupid, but maybe she'd get to ask another one if there was time.

Estrella's lip pursed as she thought about Kat's question. "Okay, let's give this a go," she started, shaking the bag around until she was satisfied that everything had been mixed up. Without looking she stuck her hand into the bag, and pinching a rune between her fingers she managed to pull it out and place it on the table.

Wunjo. Well, that wasn't too helpful. However, it was a good rune all the same. Grinning at Kat, she said, "Well, I don't know what you're going to do- but whatever you'll be doing, I know that you're going to enjoy it. You're going to have a lot of success, prosperity and some luck even."

The Ravenclaw girl smiled apologetically, adding, "I'm sorry that's so vague- if you want to ask another question you can, I have all day. And I'm not expert at this so thanks for giving me some of your time in the first place!" Hoping that she wasn't coming off as a cheeseball, she asked, "Do you have any more questions? I'm supposed to use the one rune draw this time around, so it won't take long at all."

Estrella wasn't so sure that she always believed in runes, but they were interesting none the less. And in her opinion, they were much more reliable than Divination. She knew that she had made a good decision by not signing up for that particular class.

Kat liked the sound of what the first rune said. Success, prosperity, and luck were definitely things that were worth looking forward to. "No it's great! It's a lot better than divination that's for sure...never could understand that class." she said truthfully. Thinking about it for a minute or two Kat asked another question. "Urm, will I ever get married and have a family?" She knew it was a silly question especially for a girl of almost fifteen, but it was something that she was more than a little curious about.

Estrella grinned broadly at Kat. "Well, I'm glad you're okay with it- that's a really generalized reading but what the heck? It's positive enough." Her eyes lighting up, she tossed Wunjo back into the bag. Gripping the end of the bag she shook it around violently, making sure that every rune had shifted somewhere else. Without another word she pulled out the second rune, and placed it down on the table, face up.

Berkano was the next one. Estrella blushed a bit. "Well, this one's associated with fertility and birth, so I'm pretty sure you're going to have kids!" She laughed, wondering what the Gryffindor girl would have to say to that. The Ravenclaw hoped that the other would like her reading.

"Positivity is my middle name!" Kat joked with a little chuckle. She watched as the older girl put the little tile back into her bag and then shook it up. She wondered how this whole thing really worked. Was this some sort of exact 'science' to predicting the future and if so why wasn't it taught in Divination? It was confusing yet interesting at the same time.

The next tile was laid out in front of her on the table. When Estrella told her it's meaning Kat's face flushed deep pink. "Umm, so yeah. Kids...that's something to look forward to I guess. So any chance you'd be able to tell me just who I'd be having these children with?" She already knew the answer to that. It of course was no, but she had to ask anyways.

Estrella's lip pursed as Kat asked her the third question. Chuckling nervously, she said, "I'm gonna tell you straight up, I will not be able to name any names. I may be able to figure out a little about what this guy is like though." Interested herself to see Kat's future beau, she shook about the coin purse once more, and was quick to draw three runes. It wouldn't hurt to practice this draw either.

First, she pulled Uruz. Second, was Eihwaz. Third was Algiz. Estrella's smile broadened as she looked up to Kat. It took her a little longer this time to put the meanings into words, but eventually they rolled off her tongue.

"Whoever this is, he sounds like he's going to be a good guy! I'm jealous!" Estrella laughed. "From what I can see here, he's going to be reliable, dependable and trustworthy. He'll also be very protective of you. And-" she giggled at this, "It looks like he's going to be intelligent and physically healthy. Very masculine." She let Kat mull over this for a moment, though she didn't expect the poor girl to sit here all day.

Kat got a little dreamy-eyed as she heard Estrella's explanation of who she would end up with. She could think of a few guys who held some of those certain qualities, but none that she could think of right off the bat that had them ALL. Oh well, something to look forward to I guess and at least I know that I won't be completely hopeless forever she thought with a smirk. Kat thought for a moment longer, still trying to piece it all together. It was definitely something to look forward to and she didn't think she wanted to know anything else just yet...it would have been too much for her to try and process all at once. "Thanks Estrella! This has been interesting and definitely given me some things to think about and look forward to," Kat said with a grin as she stood up from her chair. "I hate to do this, but I really must run. Have a few things to do. Thanks again and anytime you wanna do this again I'll definitely be your guinea pig!" she said brightly as she turned to leave the gardens, hoping desperately that the Ravenclaw wouldn't think her rude for skipping out in a rush.
