The dull ache that Niamh felt in the back of her head, which went down to her neck and spread from there, was there as always when she woke but today there was a bit more hope because her parents had been able to find her a tutor, of sorts, to teach her how to control what caused her migraines. Somehow they were caused by overstimulation because she had the gift of sight. It was because the Irish girl had gone so long without realizing what the flashes she saw were visions instead of what she had assumed to be a brain tumour or even seizures. Sufficed to say, the Slytherin was relieved to find she was wrong. While she had not written to this Seer herself, Niamh knew a little bit about him as, she assumed, he knew a little bit about her.

As with everyday, Niamh put on her dark shades to block out the bright sun because although there was hope that one day she might be able to control this today was not that day. She dressed casually, and for the weather in New Zealand, under a coat. While her classmates and peers were going to Hogsmeade to have butterbeer or go on a date, the girl's father was taking her to meet Bryce Chamberlin. She had time to have lunch with her father before hand but only just due to the time difference. In New Zealand it was the following day and she hated to take up much of the man's time. Her father had told her that he had a small child which was why they were meeting him. Admittedly, children made her nervous with their common loud outbursts which were always so shrill and the migraines she had almost all the time didn't need a reason to kickstart or get even worse. When the two MacPharlain's were caught up, they floo'd to a hotel nearby and made their way to Bryce's home. It seemed that Hogwarts New Zealand was also having their weekend break because she dodged many students while walking with her father. Once they had made it, she swallowed hard and left her father to knock on Bryce's door. Her father stood further down and off the stoop entirely. What he would do while Niamh had her very first lesson she was unsure but he was seeing her off for now.

Admittedly Niamh was a bit nervous for this, as she didn't know how she could make speaking with Bryce easier as she knew he was deaf and the only bit of sign language she knew was much more of a swear than a sign. While she waited she glanced over her shoulder at her dark haired father who was smiling encouragingly at her. Somehow she felt that her being a Seer was more of a relief for her family than it was for her, like they had suffered alongside her when she felt somehow bitter that she had gone through the pain and now, despite her hope, was doubtful of what might happen and that she would ever be able to control these visions that she had gone with absolutely everything she could to stop. She wondered what the man could teach her that Niamh and several Healers had been unable to think of to help her improve and cope.

It wasn’t really uncommon for Bryce Chamberlin to have a day to himself. Beau was off with his wife, and Bryce had an appointment to help with another potential seer. It was someone that went to school in Scotland, a Slytherin from what he was aware of. It seemed as though he was helping only Slytherins, which he had no qualms with of course. Bryce was preparing a little food for himself, and the guest. He did not know what she would like, so the former Ravenclaw just decided to make a ton of fries. That would be the best thing, something easy to eat while in the middle of training. He just wondered what the girl was like. Was she nice? Would she come to accept what he cannot do, such as listen? He can see, and interpret, but that is about it. Bryce noticed that the fries looked as though they were turning golden, and smiled to himself. He strained them from the oil, and turned off the burner. He did miss his son, but also hoped that his son would have a great upbringing like he did. He also saw Gaige from time to time. He was a beautiful child too, born just four months after Beau. He hoped that the two would end up being almost like brothers.

'Good thing Roo and I decided to wait on other children until later,' thought Bryce as he placed all the fries he made into a large bowl. He carried them from the kitchen and to the living room. He looked at the clock and saw that it was almost time. He cocked his head to the side when he thought that he felt something. The house door was enchanted so that if someone knocked, it would send a light vibration. He also had a doorbell that would do the same thing. This was the only way that he would know that someone was there. He set the fries onto the coffee table, and walked to the door. He opened it to see two people, and wondered if this was the girl. Bryce smiled and offered his hand out to either of them, before he said in his monotone, accent less voice, “Hi.” Bryce looked toward the father and wondered if he would be present for the lessons too. It would not pertain to him, that was for certain. “I understand you are having visions and headaches?” Bryce had some, but he was always too busy to let them interfere with his life. He ran a yearbook, a Quidditch team, was prefect, everything. However, everyone was different. And he was determined to help her.

Niamh watched as the door opened revealing a young man - not much older than herself. She could only assume he was to be her teacher while she had imagined him looking much older for some reason. The lean girl smiled awkwardly and very nervously at him, it looked about as natural as a horse tap-dancing might have. That is to say, not in the slightest. It was clear that the expression was foreign to her just from the grimace that had found it's way afterwards. It was not out of disdain for Bryce or the situation but for herself and her embarrassment over the situation that brought them together. On the other hand without looking over at her father, Niamh knew he was smiling from ear-to-ear up at the pair of them. She shook his hand and said, "Hello" rather loudly, uncertain if that would help or if he would have to cast a spell that might help him understand her. Her father waved politely and said, "I'll see you shortly" then walked away to do whatever he willed. She didn't care what he did, really. As Bryce asked about her troubles she nodded her head and said, "Constantly." Well, the migraines were constant whereas the visions were confusing and choppy and gave her the migraines. It left her unable to do most things because she was in so much pain so if all it took were lessons from this man to help her than she was alright with whatever he would have her do. If it helped to stand on one foot while pledging her life to defend the Queen, she would even do that. She wouldn't be happy about it, but she would do it. Bryce was in control of that entirely. She only hoped he knew what he was doing.
