Beauxbatons,Ilvermorny
A light snow coated all of the surfaces so Reeve had his work cut out for him as he readied the pitch for the game. The man cast a charm on his clothing to keep him dry and then got to work. He'd just put the finishing touches when he realized even more snow was beginning to fall. It was quite lovely, even if it was a little cold. The stands were still full, no sign that the children and professors were plagued by the weather. He figured they were used to it. Greeting the players, Reeve awaited the captains and their lineups.

Kit was excited that their game today was a home game, even if the weather was less than pleasant. She gathered up her team as they prepared for the game and thought of her speech, as it could be one of the last she gave as captain. She needed something to really pump her teammates up. "We have got this. I know we've lost against the French in the past, but it's our field again, which means we have that home-field advantage." She didn't really know if that was true, as flying in the air wasn't much different on other fields, but she wanted to instill some confidence in her teammates. "Reiji and Mason, focus on their seeker but also keep March from getting hit too much. March, you just gotta focus on yourself, and chasers, I'm confident we can score a decent amount of goals," she added, knowing that the snitch points had decreased, giving them a fighting chance. "Summer, you just keep blocking, and we will this thing. I know it!"

Briony was stoked for her first game. She had pulled her hair out of her face just before Kit started going on about how to play the game. It wasn't a great speech, but she guessed it was okay. The 2nd year gripped her broom and waited for the game to start, breathing into her gloves to keep her hands warm.

March was glad they’d be up for the game, he was sure he could win this year given Kirby wasn’t around and she’s always been his bigger rival. This new seeker was untested, he could do this.

Celestine was exhausted, she had a lot of study to catch up on with class time she'd missed for performance last year. She really needed to ace her Charms exams especially for her future career on the stage. It meant that she almost missed the trip to Ilvermorny, not least because she'd handed in the team sheet instead of her History essay and had to go beg Mme Deborde to let her swap the papers around. She suspected Tullia had been busy with final exam preparation too, she hardly saw the girl with how busy they both were.

But Celestine was nothing if not a professional performer and she had no intention of letting the Ilvermorny team see just how utterly disorganised she was. Smiling broadly, she handed in the recovered team sheet to the referee and let the mask slip just a tiny bit as she looked at her own team, giving an almost helpless look. "Let us just do our best, yes? If we all try our best, win or lose, we can go to an American diner after. They are so charming!" If nothing else, they'd have fun.

Ray had definitely not been too slack in the leadup to the game or anything, he had been practicing baseball at the very least. He still kind of wished Quidditch let you show off more than one skill. Though he did have to actually put in an effort to do that one skill well. He saluted Kit and readied up to take to the skies.

Reeve watched the flurries until the captains arrived. He reviewed the lineup cara and then put them into his pocket. The ref cast a charm on himself and then addressed everyone. "We've gone over the rules, and I'll be expecting a fair game. Beauxbatons will guard the North hoops, and Ilvermorny will guard the South. Let's have fun out there. Shall we?" Reeve gestured so both teams could take to the sky.

He opened the game chest, watching as the bludgers rose to wreak havoc and the snitch swiftly disappeared amid the flurries. With the quaffle under his arm, he also joined the teams in the sky, tossing the quaffle into the open. "Game on!"

OOCOut of Character: Game Notes - please read

1. Be sure to review the rules. Any questions regarding the rules should be sent to your captain(s). If they cannot answer, they can PM me.
2. If you have any issues seeing the score on the referee's first post or with your access to the quidditch system, please send a PM including both me and your captain(s). It may be that they've forgotten to add you to the system or may be a bigger issue.
3. Dont forget to refresh the page before you post! Someone might sneak in a post while you are working on yours and first post counts.
4. You should always be pressing a button, whichever is appropriate for your game play during your post. Doing so boosts your success rate as well as allows the timer to kick in appropriately for your teammates and opponents.
5. After a player is hit by the bludger 3x, gameplay should stop. This allows for a quicker return to game post- substitution.
6. The game is meant to be interactive, so read your fellow players posts before posting! Stick with the game from beginning to end, from kicking off the ground to touching back down! Have fun!
7. As you are all in the same group and color, it would be most helpful for me if you consider including your school in your profile and/or utilizing the buttons with your school name.

Kit listened as the referee gave the instructions and then quickly nabbed the quaffle, heading towards the Beauxbatons keeper.

Veronique was more than ready for today’s game. Picking her to be the team’s new seeker had been the best choice the captains could make and she was going to show everyone why. Sure, the Americans might have the advantage of the home game but she wasn’t going to let the unknown terrain bother her. Especially not since they’d be up in the air anyways. Once the referee blew his whistle Veronique shot up in the air, her eye immediately catching a glimpse of gold. Some would call it luck, she called it skill. Without hesitating she shot towards the snitch and grabbed it right out of the air before some others had even noticed she was chasing it.

"Beauxbatons wins!" the man declared as the crowd erupted in gasps, cheers, and other shocked expressions.
