Jingyi was pretty desperate to make the Quidditch team the next year, even if he had heard how hard it was to actually get a spot on the Gryffindor team. But just because it was hard didn't mean he wasn't going to try, striding confidently out onto the pitch with a borrowed school broom to try and get in some extra practice. If he wanted to try-out next year then he needed to be as confident and skilled as he possibly could be, which meant putting in the work and getting in some scoring practice every now and then. Not that he was complaining as he really enjoyed playing Quidditch and loved the sensation of flying.

Glancing around the pitch, he was quick to spot a girl he recognized from classes, grinning as he decided to walk over to her. "Hiya!" He called out cheerily as a greeting once he was a little closer, "Are you here to practice as well? Do you wanna practice together? Two is better than one!"

With the second semester now underway, it meant that Evie couldn't fly on a broom anymore during a flying lesson. She was disappointed that the quidditch team didn't take in any first years and really wanted something done about that. Nonetheless, she didn't want to give up. She borrowed one of the school's brooms and made her way to the Quidditch pitch so that she could practice. If she wanted to show everyone how much she wanted to be on the team, then mounting a broom during her free time was definitely a good way to do so. It was a nice day and Evie was quite excited to get up into the air. However, before she could do so, a classmate began making his way to her, and Evie smiled at him. She was unaware that others had the same idea as her, and perhaps this would be a good way to make friends outside of Molly. "Yeah, let's practice together!" she agreed, before mounting the broom. "Let's see if you can catch me!" She kicked off, flying as fast as she could to the other side of the pitch.

He was pleased to have someone else to practice with. Trying to practice by yourself could be incredibly boring. And pretty hard as you couldn't really practice your shooting very well if there was no one around to try and guard the hoop. Not to mention you had to go and fetch the quaffle yourself after every single shot. He was about to suggest some practice they could do, but before he even got the chance, the girl had mounted her broom and shot off. Jingyi just frowned as he watched her go. That was not really the practice he had in mind. What was playing tag going to accomplish? "I was thinking more actual practice!" He shouted after her as he swung a leg over his broom and slowly kicked off into the sky himself.
