Valencia had decided that she was going to join one of the school events that the school had offered, even though social events weren't her thing. But Valencia thought that she should at least try and join. She wasn't sure what she was going to be dressed up as at first, as she hadn't really bought her own costume to Hogwarts. But she was somehow inspired by something she remembered her dad watching on television before they went to Hogwarts. Valencia slowly and nervously walked into the Great Hall. She had hoped that her costume wasn't too bad, as she had noticed that all the student's costumes were awesome. She had decided to take a seat in on of the chairs that were placed at the back of the Great Hall, glancing around the room.

Weston was so excited for the Halloween party. He had dressed up as one of his favorite superheroes, and he couldn't wait to show off his super cool cape and his super cool mask. He was also eager to see the Great Hall, having heard that the Hogwarts staff usually went all out for the schoolwide celebrations. He had barely fit his mask in place when he had started running towards the Great Hall from Ravenclaw tower.

It was a long journey, so Weston was a bit out of breath when he arrived. That didn't stop him from immediately gasping in delight at how creepy the whole room looked. There were even bat silhouettes flying near the ceiling, like a dozen little Bat-Signals. Perfect. It was dark and a lot of people were in costumes, so it was kind of hard to spot his friends. But he was sure he'd find them soon, and he decided to start at the snack table.

The pumpkin pasties looked delicious, so Weston grabbed one before turning around to scan the crowd again. He was leaning against the snack table, one hand resting on it, the other holding the pasty when he felt it. A strange tickle. Like something was brushing against his hand. Frowning, Weston glanced down at his hand on the table and spotted what looked to be a giant black tarantula crawling across it. He immediately shrieked, dropped his pasty, and jerked his hand away, sending the black object flying across the room towards a girl. He was too busy clutching his hand protectively, heart beating fast in his chest, to realize that what had looked like a spider was simply one of the spider-shaped cupcakes that had been charmed to crawl around.

((up to you whether it hits her or not!))

Valencia had been people watching the Great Hall when suddenly something had hit her on the side of her head, which caused her to make an 'opmh' sound from being hit. As she was rubbing her head from being hit by this mysterious thing, she looked down to see what had hit her as it had fallen to the ground. When Valencia looked down, she stood up from her seat quickly and shrieked, as she noticed that it had looked like a spider. She then quickly covered her mouth from embarrassment, hoping that not many people had heard her from her slight screaming over a spider. Valencia looked around to see if anyone else had heard her, but only a few people did. She looked down again at the spider, still shaking and biting her nails from nervousness. As she got a closer look at what was on the ground, she realised that it was a spider-shaped cookie. She gently picked it up from the ground and held it up slightly. "Is this anyone's spider cupcake? You uh, dropped it on the ground"

Even though he could practically hear his heartbeat in his ears, another sound managed to cut through all the noise. Weston immediately recognized the scream as that of someone who had spotted a giant tarantula. He looked up and noticed a nearby girl looking down at something in horror. He vaguely remembered flinging the tarantula in her direction and assumed that was the black blob on the ground near her. Instinctively, Weston took a couple of steps toward her to warn her to run away before the spider bit her.

Instead, the girl knelt down and picked it up. Weston's jaw dropped as he looked at her with a mix of horror and admiration. He frowned at her question. "Wait, that's a cupcake?" he asked, taking a cautious step forward. Indeed, it was just a black, heavily frosted cupcake with eight legs. The cupcake's legs wriggled, and he yelped and jumped back. "Ugh, why would they give it legs? It's so creepy." He shuddered. His fear of spiders was so intense he had trouble looking directly at it even though he knew it was fake.

Valencia looked up at the direction where she saw a boy taking a few steps towards her. She nodded and looked down at the spider cupcake. She moved it slightly, which made the legs move in a giggly motion. Valencia shuddered in disgust. "I don't know why they would add legs that move onto the cupcake. It's nasty" Valencia says again as she shuddered, as she looked away from the cupcake that creeped her out. She didn't know why they even had added legs onto the cupcake, especially making them giggly. Valencia didn't like spiders. They had creeped her out too much. "I'm guessing the cupcake is yours then, Batman?" Valencia says with a small smile and laugh as she handed the cupcake to the boy. "Do you still want it?"

Weston was glad the girl agreed with him. Scary things — especially during Halloween — could be fun, but there was a line. And Weston drew that line at food. There was no reason to ruin something as wonderful as a cupcake with enchanted spider legs. That was just an abuse of magic.

He shook his head vigorously at the girl's offer. "No way." Even if it hadn't fallen on the floor, Weston wouldn't have wanted to eat it. He could practically imagine the spiders cupcake's legs wriggling around inside his throat if he tried to take a bite. "We should throw it away. Actually, we should smash it and then throw it away so it can't crawl out of the rubbish and follow us." And by "we," he obviously meant the girl. There was no way he was going near that thing. Grabbing some napkins from a nearby table, he held them out to the girl. He still couldn't quite believe she was holding that thing with her bare hands while its legs were still moving.
