When Eurydice finally partly admitted to her brother what had been happening in school, she did not expect him to get a job at the school. She didn't even expect the school to hire him - and hire him so quickly. It didn't end there, either. Sometimes, it felt like Tizi-nii was around more often than not, which wasn't right because he had a job, and that meant he should be in the Library more often than not, but she also kept seeing him in between her classes. And now, here she was in the Duelling Chamber, wand in hand and wearing clothes fit for training rather than her uniform or usual outfits. Apparently, Tizi-nii wanted to make good on his promise to help her practice, which would be useful because she'd just stupidly signed up for the Duelling Tournament. "How are we going to do this?" she asked him curiously because he hadn't said a thing about how they were going to practice.

Despite wanting to help her practice, doing it at the school did rather limit him a bit. Whilst at home he would be very aggressive in his wand work with her, because there would be family around to help if needed, the school likely would not necessarily understand and whilst his goal would not be to hurt her, when it came to duelling often nothing was guaranteed, and that was why they mostly paired students of the same year together. Still, it wouldn't do to have her not understanding how to knock down a bigger and older opponent, and given the older students had a tendency to go for something flashy, sometimes the best offense was a good defense, and that meant she had to know how to switch it up quickly. "We're going to work on switching, going from offense to defense and then defense to offense. If you can be quick, you can win." he said, nodding to the room he'd set up in advance of her coming. "I'm not going to be casting any spells on you, mostly because I feel like that would probably get me into trouble," though he didn't know why when he was probably more welcome to do so than her own professors who certainly didn't seem to have a problem with casting spells on students. At least Mum and Dad would have given Tizi permission, and what was more, he would have asked first which was a darn sight better than some professors he would not name. "Are you up for it?"

Eurydice looked at the work that her older brother did in the room and it made her a little nervous. What if she completely sucked at this? And switching between offense and defense. She liked to think she was pretty decent at offensive spells. She’d managed to learn hexes from the book that Kael-nii had gotten her. And loathe as she was to admit, she could be pretty good at the jinxes they studies in Defense when she could practice with dummies - she refused to cast at Jonah and Eli without a nurse present since she didn’t trust the DADA professor. It was a relief that Tizi-nii wasn’t going to cast spells at her, even if it was because he might get in trouble since he was part of the school staff. It meant that he would if they were home, but she was sure he would only do it if someone else was there to make sure nothing goes wrong and she wouldn’t really be hurt. “Okay,” she said with a nod as she readjusted her grip on her wand. Switching from offense to defense would be the trickiest because Eury apparently sucked at offense. “Who am I defending against then?”

Tizi shook his head as his sister, of course, misunderstood him. How could she expect to defend against anything without first learning how to switch from a shield to a spell without something flying at her? “No, you won’t be defending against anything, not yet, you’re clearly not ready,” because if she was ready, she’d not have come to him and maybe this isn’t what she had in mind when she’d told her brother she had problems, she knew what Tizi was like, ergo, this is what she wanted from him. Tizi was going to run with that whether she agreed with it or not because the point was to get her comfortable defending herself before she had to worry about a bigger target. “If you get this down, by the break I’ll even cast a heavy duty spell at you,” he said, nodding to her to take a place away from him. “Show me your shield and then switch to a simple offensive spell immediately after it drops. We’re working on you being fast and accurate.”

Eury knew she wasn't ready. But to hear Tizi-nii say it still felt like... well... there was a saying that was a punch in the gut, but she didn't know what being punched felt like, but it definitely hurt. She didn't say anything though, because he was right. Still, she didn't know how they were going to be testing her shields if Tizi-nii wasn't going to be throwing spells at it. She could cast shield spells well enough in class when she had time to prepare. When she hadn't been though, Morrie's spell easily shattered her shield. "Okay," she said nervously as she shifted from one foot to the other as she got into a stance that she'd been mirroring from Kael-nii. Loose and easy to move at a moment's notice, she'd heard Kael-nii tell Hina-nee one time. "Protego," she cast. A shield took form, though she wasn't sure how strong it was. When she thought Tizi-nii had enough time to examine it, she dropped it and cast "Stupefy" immediately, the spell flying out of her wand to hit one of the dummies squarely in the chest. Considering who she'd been learning with up to now, it wasn't surprising she was better at offense than defense.
