Pretty in Pink

[Chace Harker]

Chace would normally have been embarrassed by the color he was wearing, but it was something he forced himself to get over. By Merlin's kneecap, he had a date and he was going to have a good time. He waited in the Entrance Hall for a girl who had quickly become his friend. The Slytherin was more than happy to accompany her to the dance tonight, even if their pairing was nothing of romantic proportions.

Zoe was excited for the Yule Ball, and it was her last year too. She had chosen a dress that was very her. It was a dusty pink, long and glamorous. She entered the Great Hall where the Yule Ball was to be held, and she saw Chace standing there, wearing a pink dress shirt, to match her. She smirked. She had never seen a man wear pink before. "Pink is definitely your colour!" She exclaimed, playfully eyeing him. Though Chace was an attractive guy, after becoming friends with him, any feelings of that sort had gone away, which made the night a whole less awkward.

Sticking his tongue out at Zoe playfully, Chace brushed at his shoulder. "I should wear it more often, huh?" he remarked. He flashed a grin at his practically new friend. He hadn't expected to have a Yule Ball date this year, yet he'd asked her randomly. Going to the dance was better than sitting in the Common Room waiting for the rest of the happy sots to return. He was in pretty high spirits. The fact that his date was hot- more so than a lot of the girls in the school- was quite the plus.

"You look very nice." Chace said this nonchalantly, acting like he wasn't flustered when really, he thought the word nice was a joke. They'd agreed that they were going just as friends. The Slytherin boy knew that he had to keep any and all comments to himself. Holding out his arm for her to take like he had done so many years before, he asked, "Shall we, Miss Weasley? We've got plenty of time to waste, but it'd be even better to waste it showing up everyone else on the dance floor."

Zoe grinned as she accepted his arm. "Lets dominate the dance floor." She said mischievously, and gave Chace a wink. They were there as friends, even though she had recently become friends with him, and she thought it was great that she was with a really hot guy, though she didn't feel a spark, which made it more comfortable. They walked to the dance floor, and then she turned to face him. The music was upbeat and she started moving her hips and bobbing her head to the music. "This song is pretty cool." She said to him, her hair moving about loosely around her face.
