Ana pulled down hard on the thick purple and gold rope that hung down behind the counter of her dark artifacts shop. Since she kept no solid hours she had started this as a system to let any current shoppers she was about to close up and they had about fifteen minutes. Her times in the shop had been shorter and shorter as her pregnancy wore on but nobody dared mention anything about it, lest they be on the receiving end of some rather nasty wandwork. She didn't remember being nearly so angry and irritable at the end of her last pregnancy, then again her darling little Callista had been born two months early and Ana had not gotten nearly as big, aching, and beyond cranky. Sitting down in her chair once more Ana waited for the last person to do their business before finally starting on all of the security charms to lock the place up for the night before wandering back up to her apartment for a well deserved night. "Damn it... Can't you just come out already little one?" she whispered as to not wake up her small daughter, just over a year old and quite small for her age.
Anastasia had grown to love the child she had once considered a curse and a parasite quite quickly, she looked just like her father but had bonded with her mother far deeper. Even responding more to Greek lullabies, her first word being "Mitera", Greek for mother. Ana thought about heading into the nursery for a bit but she didn't want to disturb her daughter from slumber, especially not when she was about to have a nap herself. She didn't know where Hades was on that bitingly cold July afternoon but it wasn't too important, he was usually back before the moon rose. She had just settled herself down on the couch when she felt a long sharp pain from her slightly overdue baby. "Mother fu.k!" she hissed, that had been a rough one.
