Connor didn't think anyone could blame him for dreading this delivery. He couldn't fathom how he had gotten so unlucky as to be landed with it in the first place. But it was on his list, and he wasn't going to be accused of shirking his duties. As a Prefect, he had to be better than his personal problems. But that didn't mean he was going to relish the task, or take longer on it than was absolutely necessary. It took him a moment to spot Nicole at the Slytherin table. but once he did he made a beeline for her, silently dropping the rose and its card next to her plate and turning to walk away, unable to help the scowl that had curled across his face just from being close to her.

Nicole loved Valentine's day, even if the anxiety of it all drove her a little crazy, the urge to turn and look hopefully any time someone walked pass with roses making it nearly impossible to get anything done all day.

She hadn't had any trouble looking away pointedly though when she'd spotted Connor making his way between the house tables though, not wanting to look at his dumb face any longer than she had to. When he had the nerve to dump a rose off next to her elbow though she couldn't help but scoff, giving him an unimpressed look. "Wow, thanks," she said flatly, clicking her tongue, the thrill of getting a rose all but ruined by who had delivered it.

Hearing Nicole's voice sent a fresh dagger through Connor's heart, though he kept walking away without looking back. He wasn't going to rise to whatever bait she tried to throw at him. Their fight was her fault, and unless she was willing to apologise, he wasn't going to engage. He had decided that a long time ago, and was determined now to stick to it. He just walked away, leaving the rose and its attached note sitting on the table by Nicole.

Do you think we'll unexpectedly match again at the dance? -Adorah

Nicole wasn't surprised when Connor ran off after dropping off the rose. Clearly he still wasn't sorry for what he and Eric had done last year and Nicole had no interest even looking at him until he'd gotten over himself.

Her dour mood was lifted somewhat when she saw who the rose was from, chewing on her lip nervously. She'd sent Adorah a pink rose in a fit of what she could only describe as madness, considering Adorah had a cool girlfriend already and she had no chance. But she hadn't signed it. Maybe she should have sent Adorah a yellow rose too just in case. But still, Adorah had thought about her. Enough to send her a rose. Levied by the thought, Nicole continued eating, all thoughts of Connor almost entirely forgotten.
