Pocketful of sunshine

Brad was quite amazed that Nathalie didn't considered mermaids as beast. They scared him alive! "They're worse than horrible! They're worse than centaurs" Again, he shivered and plastered on his scared look. "You don't know who Plunkett is? Wow... So in conclusion I should get an O later on" He laughed. Brad was never a big fan of learning but at least he had heard a little about the witches back then. "Mirabella Plunkett, the woman who fell in love with a merman and transfigured herself into a haddock." He said putting on his nerdy glasses on and pretending to be smart. "Hmm... I am smart, eh?" He tapped his chin with his finger and laughed. He took off the glasses and place it back to his pocket. "I'm not wearing one of these! I'll look like a dork" He complained.

Nathalie had had to laugh when she heard Brad explained who Plunkett was, honestly, she really had no idea who he was talking about, now that makes her feel a little embarrassed, but rather than flushing like she used to, she cannot help but laugh. "Oh.. so that's who she is.. guess I wasn't that top student that they were talking about then, I really had no idea who she was, I'm probably sleeping by then. " She said, putting a finger on her chin innocently, "But you do look quite good with the glasses, you look decent.. not that you aren't of course." She then added, smiling once again at her own statement.

Brad pouted and pretended to be offended "Why aw you laughing af me (why are you laughing at me)" He looked at her and widen his eyes showing his famous puppy dogs eyes. No, he was definitely not embarrassed to goof around and look stupid. "Hmmm do I?" He looked at himself in the mirror with the glasses on. "Maybe I should draw a scar similar to Harry Potter and maybe you girls will fall in love with me. I'll be the modern Harry Potter! Ha!!" He laughed and took it off again.

"Oh, I'm laughing because you're pretty funny Brad...no, what I mean is, you are REALLY funny." Nathalie said, still laughing until tears had started to form in her eyes, she's having to much laugh at the moment, and probably, once someone sees her acting like that, they one thought that she's sick. Going behind Brad as he checked himself in the mirror, Nathalie tried to take the glasses away from him and wear it herself, "you're crazy, now, how do I look?" She said, smiling at him as she waited for his response.

Brad made himself looked nerdy and draw the scar on his forehead and looked at Nathalie. "How do I look now?" He said with a British accent, imitating Mr. Potter. "Hey, I do look like him! A lot! I'm just a little shorter, and my hair is different, and my face, wait... That's everything" He said and laughed. Just then the girl took his glasses away from him and wore it. "Hmm.... You don't look so bad as well, you can be the female version" He then laughed.

Nathalie laughed as Brad started to imitate Harry Potter, it was pretty funny, no, it is REALLY funny. "Maybe you should have changed you face, if so, then I'd agree that you look like him. " She said with a light smile forming on her face, she was being too happy now, too happy that she's afraid that she'll have to cry later on. "Oh, is that a compliment Brad? Cause if so, then let me tell you this, you're doing a bad job at complimenting me." She then said, giggling as she had heard her own statement.

Brad tilted his eyebrow and looked Nathalie in a confusion. "Why is that bad?" He asked innocently and escorted her to the door, ready to leave the tower. "The wind is hard, we'd better go" He said, plastering his serious face. The weather wasn't friendly, perhaps it was going to rain, so if they were staying in the tower, they would stuck in there for several hours and Brad didn't want that to happen. "Hmm... Miss, we'd better leave nowww!" He smiled and ran downstair, all the way to the garden and then to the corridor. He stopped and looked back.

"No, it isn't. It's just that, it wasn't the normal compliment that I often receive." Nathalie said with a soft smile as she saw that she had caused Brad to be somewhat confused by her statement. Of course, she didn't mean that he was complimenting her badly, she had just said that, no real meaning behind it. "Oh, sure then" She then added, a bit disappointed that once again, they would have to return to the confinements of the castle, or more so, their school.

Nathalie followed Brad as he ran down the tower, being as nonathletic as she was, of course, she finds the run to be quite hard. She had even stumbled a few times on her way. Reaching him, she cannot help but to be on her knees as she tried to catch her breath. "Really Brad, you are a real gentleman." She commented with a laugh as she started to stand up now, her hands on both side of her hips.

Brad laughed one more time and saw Nathalie coming and started running toward him but then she stopped, he definitely could see that the girl wasn't used to running. "Am I? Thank you" He winked and laughed as he reach to his bag and grab a bottle of water and toss it to the air and then gave it to the girl in front of him. "Here you go, you need it more than I do." He smiled and handed it to him and took a few steps backward, leaning to the wall. "See? Am I not a gentleman?" He said and grinned, followed by laughing.

Nathalie had caught Brad's water bottle with grace, holding it in her hand as she tried to muster a glare for him. "Yeah right.. A real gentleman indeed Brad, in fact, that would be true if you are the only male leaving on this world." She said sarcastically as she brought the bottle to her lips and began taking a drink. "I won't give you any Brad, so don't try to wish that you'll be able to drink." She then said with a smile, not that charming smile that she would usually use, but rather, a confident and mocking one.

Brad chuckled as he listened to Nathalie being sarcastic. "Ouch" He pretended to be hurt, and place his hand on his chest pretending to be hurt and laughed after that. "Oh no worry! I have another one" He winked and took it out, tossing it to the air and caught it. He twisted it and drank it "Ohhh this is soo good" He said after drinking the whole bottle and threw it to the bin near him.

Nathalie had had to laugh when she saw how Brad had reacted to what it was that she had said, surely, he was really funny. "Now, now Brad, you know that I am just kidding, right?" She said to him, patting him on the back as she did so, really, she was surely having fun by then.

SHe then had had to pretend to frown when Brad said that he still had another water bottle with him, "Mou, I can't really defeat you eh?" She said with a giggle, throwing her own bottle to the same bin.

"Hmmmm of course not, how can you defeat the awesome Brad?" Brad laughed and lead the way, gesturing Nathalie to come with him. He wasn't going to stay around the corridor when the storm was about to come. "Do you want to go somewhere?" He asked, if she wasn't going anywhere, he was either going to go to the common room or probably his room. His roommates weren't there anyway.

Nathalie pouted when she heard what it was that Brad had said, really, he was just too carefree that's it's too funny for her. "You're too proud Brad, one day, surely, I'll be able to defeat you, for sure ne?" She said, smiling as she followed him inside, surely, just like him, she didn't want to get sick just because she had just decided to go and play when a storm had just broken out. "Not particularly, got any place in mind?" She asked him, shrugging, she got nothing to do at the moment, well, aside from reading her books which she had figured to be able to wait until nighttime then.

The rain started pouring heavily, Brad stopped and faced Nathalie, smirking. He threw her to his shoulder as he ran to the field and dropped her on the ground. "Oops" He laughed, it was cold since it was autumn. He was wet and cold, he gave a hand to help Nathalie get up. He was going to give her a towel later on, no he didn't want her to get sick just because of him. "Sorry about that" He laughed once more hoping that she wasn't mad.

Nathalie let out a squeal when Brad had literally threw her into his shoulder, being rather light, she figured that it was just so easy for him to do that, now, she looks like a lifeless doll hanging limp on his shoulder. She cannot help but to laugh though, being carried in a rather unlady like manner made her thought of her father, thinking how he would react if he saw her in such situation, she was just about to say something when Brad, being the gentleman that he was, had dropped her with further ado in the ground. "You're so mean..." She said, pouting as she felt the cold downpour of her rain, she did't mind it though for she was having a lot of fun actually. Smiling to herself, she had thought that she could at least get some revenge on him, so grabbing his hand, she pulled her down, as strongly as she could.

It was cold and windy, Brad was pretty crazy for making her all wet and cold. "I know, I know... I apologize" He said in a babyish tone and laughed and splashed the puddle to her. "Oops" He smirked and jumped on another on which made a big splash. Not too long, Brad could see some of his professors walking on the corridors. He signaled Nathalie to come with him to hide behind the bushes. "We'll get a detention for this" He whispered trying to hold himself from laughing. As soon as he couldn't see the professor anywhere on his sight, he burst into laughter and lied on the cold ground and started to shiver. "Come on let's go, or we'll be sick" He smiled, standing up, giving a hand to Nathalie, helping her if she wanted to stand up." As soon as he reach the corridor, he took out his wand and summon towels and gave one to a friend of his. He wrapped himself, drying his hair and was trying to warm himself. "8 o clock, in my office, mister Kuang" A professor suddenly appear and disappear. "Dang" He muttered.

Nathalie could feel the cold droplets splashing onto her face. On her lips and over her eyelids. She knew that they must look silly, standing out in this storm, her head tilted towards the sky. But there was no one to see, and she didn't care. A bolt of lightning struck, followed almost immediately by earthshaking thunder. She could feel it in her teeth. They chattered. Or was that from the cold? She giggled, softly, in a dreamy sort of way. She was being silly. "We'll be in trouble." She said as she hid with Brad behind th bushes, normally, she wouldn't hide from any professor, but right now, of course she would, she could already picture out their reaction once they saw her like that after all. Reaching out for Brad's hand as he offered to help her stand up, she nodded her head in agreement, she was going back inside before she got struck by lighting. Or caught pneumonia. Or both.

Wet strands of hair clung to her face, and her soaking dress stuck to her body as she made her way along with Brad towards the school's corridor, to the place that would shelter and protect them from the rain. As she was drying herself off, a professor came, telling Brad to meet him in his office. Nathalie had had to hold back her laughter by then, she just knew that it would come. "You are in deep trouble Brad, and it's not my fault."

Brad stuck his tongue out as he looked at Nathalie and laughed. "Come on I don't want you to be in trouble and I don't want your parents to kill me for making you skip class tomorrow because you're not feeling well.... Because... You were out acting like a maniac with me" He laughed and lead her to the common room. He did have so much fun with her, no one in the school was like her beside Vivian who was sometimes worse than Brad. Acting like a fool was in his blood even though some people hated him for being too wild. "It is your fault, you should have stop the rain" He laughed and entered the common room walking toward the fire place. "Oh man... This is good" He smiled as he sat in front of it. "Hey I'm gonna go change and probably hit the shower and then I'll be back down here." He got up. "So I'll meet you down here? Or are you too mad at me?" He did hope that she wont be mad at him. He now felt bad that he had to involve her in such an action, after all who liked being all wet? Most girls hated being wet, because then their hair wont look perfect.

Nathalie followed Brad to the common room, honestly, it didn't make sense how a girl can enter the boy's dorm while the boy couldn't enter the girls', too much discrimination she guessed. "Don't worry, they wouldn't know, and well... I don't regret playing in the rain, it's fun." She said, laughing as she saw his reaction, before, she had always thought of the rain as something that would comfort her whenever she feels alone, when she wants to cry, she would always do that when it's raining, that way, no one would notice the tears streaming down on her face, but now, she had actually find it to be some sort of enjoyment, the feeling of the water in her skin, cold, yet, soothing at the same time.

She smiled as she saw Brad sat up in front of the fire place, obviously enjoying the warmth that was coming from it, she finds him to be rather amusing and amazing at the same time, he's just too carefree and lenient, everything that she wasn't before, "I'll wait.." She said, however, as she glanced down on her still wet clothes and her not so ladylike her, she decided other wise. "On second thought, I'll go change as well... You'll be the one to wait for me then?" She said, tucking her hair behind her ears, not really minding if she doesn't look as prim and as elegant as she was before.

Brad was relieved knowing that Nathalie wasn't mad at him. He nodded and smiled before running to the bathroom and took a shower. He grab a white shirt and wore a nike jacket of his on top of his shirt. He wore his black sneaker and black pants and ran down to the common room. It was pretty chilly but after showering with warm water, he felt better. He slam himself on the couch and slept for a while, waiting for Nathalie to come down. Soon he was drifted to sleep. Unlike other students who had insomnia, Brad was the other way around. He would sleep whenever he could and he wont care if other people called him names just because he slept too much. "Yum yum pudding" He sleep talked softly. He was probably dreaming of the different flavors and colors of pudding in the restaurant.

As Brad left to shower and change, Nathalie proceeded to return to her dorm too. She knew that the others might wonder why she was dripping wet from head to toe, yet, she didn't mind. She was too happy to even care about what the others would say to her now, she'll think about that later, but at the moment, she had to hurry and return to meet her new friend. Entering her room, Nathalie grabbed a towel and took a warm bath. It felt nice, after a long stay under the cold pelting rain, the feel of warm water on her skin makes her feel really comfortable, and she likes it. Enjoying herself, Nathalie didn't noticed how long she had took, and thus, in a hurry, she went out and tried to sort out which dress would she wear. Deciding to wear a simple fleece raglan sweatshirt and a fleece straight leg sweatpant, Nathalie hurriedly left the room and headed back to the boy's common room.

What she had seen was not what she had expected though, for in all honesty, she had expected to see Brad sitting and waiting for her, but rather, he was sleeping, and just that, he was muttering something. Smiling to herself, she decided to not wake him up, but instead, she sat in front of the couch where he was sleeping, legs crossed in front of her, watching the dance of the fire in the fireplace as she did so.

After sleeping for a while, Brad heard someone walking down the stairs but he didn't bother opening his eyes. Several minutes later, he opened his eyes and jumped as he saw Nathalie sitting not too far from him. "Sweet mother Merlin!" He said quite loud and tidy his hair. "Why didn't you wake me? Don't tell me that you were charmed by my gorgeous, innocent sleeping face. Awww that's cute" He laughed and sat beside her, nudging her playfully. "I'm hungry, let's go eat" He suggested and stood up, offering a hand for Nathalie. Well at least he was trying to act like a gentleman who helped girls standing up. "What's the menu today?" Brad was sure that the menu was so much different than Hogwarts or Durmstrang. Low fat food and those kind of meal were served there.

Nathalie had almost jumped from her seat when she heard a sudden voice, of course, it was no other than Brad, there was no else around aside from them of course. But even so, the sudden sound had really startled her. "You almost gave me a heart attack Brad." She said, pouting abit as she placed her hand on her chest, feeling her heart beat too fast. "And no, I'm not watching your face, I'm watching the fire, and I don't see any resemblance in it, is there?" She said, laughing a little as Brad sat beside her and nudge her. She had had to smile playfully as Brad offered his hand to help her stand up, reaching out, she hold his hand and pulled him down on the floor once again. "I don't know, I haven't eaten anything since morning." She said as she stood up, brushing her wavy blond hair out of her face, "Let's go?" She then asked, smiling innocently as she offered her hand to help Brad stand up once again.

Brad looked down and fixed his shoe but suddenly his hand was pulled by Nathalie and he almost fell. Right after she offered him her hand, he high-fived her and stood up, fixing his shoes. Once he fixed it, he narrowed his eyes, looking at Nathalie and messed her hair. If she was Vivian who think that her hair was so precious, she would be mad at him. "Hmm don't lie to me, I know that you were watching me" Of course he was kidding, he never think of himself as cute or somekind but he loved messing around with other people. Brad lead her to the hall, the corridor wasn't too dark at this time. "Do you dance?" He asked as he did a simple shuffle dance. Brad was a dancer and he did gymnastic as well just like her older sister Sally.
