The best part about the sorting ceremony wasn't the feast that followed - it was winning all of Amortentia's pocket change. As the first student, Ares Zephyr, stepped up to the sorting stool, Eluned stacked two knuts on the table. "Gryffindor," she said. There was something about the walk. She could just tell.

Ten felt like she’d gotten her best friend back, even if that meant now it was costing her. “Not a chance,” she whispered, placing two more knuts on top of the first two. “Slytherin. He didn’t even wait to be called,” she said. The next boy that was called up was called Wilfred. Ten wasn’t judging, but she was just a little, “Hufflepuff,” two more knuts on the table.​
