Lily had spent the day wondering around Hogwarts. She was pretending to be finding her way around so that on the first day of classes she'd be able to find her way no problem, but really Lily was looking for some place to dance. Somewhere quiet. She was yet to find this place. She'd looked high and low. But all she had found were corridors which weren't that peaceful and anyone might be able to see her. Not that that really minded LIly but at least at first she'd want somewhere quiet. It was then she stumbled upon the library. Sure that was quiet but it wasn't really a place for Lily to dance. There was no space. Lily began to walk around the library, wondering if she may eventually within in the books and shelves find somewhere. She came to a shelf about the sport Quidditch. Lily didn't know too much about this sport, and so in a small moment of interest took the book off the shelf and began to quickly read. What the book spoke of was ridiculous. And Dangerous. Lily couldn't understand why people in the wizarding world liked it so much. She spotted a table and walked over to it. She took a seat and continued to read this unbelievable nonsense.

Trixie dropped her bag onto the floor beside her chair, and sat down. Finally, somewhere quiet! She'd been in the common room trying to read her new book, but found there was just too much going on. All the noise was distracting, so she'd left the common room to find somewhere a bit more peaceful. Finally, she'd found the library. This is better, though Trixie. She pulled Quiddditch Through the Ages out of her bag and began to read. After a while she heard a noise. She looked up, and saw girl around her own age sitting a few seats down. She was reading Quidditch Through the Ages too. Wow! thought Trixie, maybe she's a potential friend? Then, however, she noticed the sceptical look on the girl's face. Maybe not...

Lily couldn't believe anything this book was saying. Balls which flew manically. A tiny golden ball with wings. This was all stupid. Magic was stupid. She couldn't believe she'd agreed to come. Maybe she could take one of the brooms and fly somewhere normal. Lily couldn't help but feel a little shocked at this thought of her flying. She would never get on a broom. Not if the teacher had to drag her, there was no way Lily was going to fly on a broom. It was just stupid. No one wants to fly. Humans, weren't birds. They were meant to stay put on the ground. Not in the air defiying gravity. It just wasn't right. Lily swore under her breath in french. She continued to read. How can a sport on brooms change. Lily in a small moment of anger threw the book across the desk and on to the floor. Lily didn't care that it was a library book. She didn't want to be here. She also didn't care that there was a girl a few seats down looking at her. It was probably because, Lily's long brown hair, had been done into perfect yet slightly wild curls which matched her outfit. Lily didn't even bother to spare this girl a glance.

{{ aaah Lily, how cool is this? xD our PBs match up on Degrassi ;) }}

Felix couldn't believe he was actually outside of his dormitory so soon. He'd had to room with a few other boys but that was a part of living in a boarding school, wasn't it? He was glad his uniform fit well, and he didn't really look like a first year. He was tall, lanky, with an older face and much wiser eyes. He tucked a piece of his shaggy blonde hair out of the way as he opened the door to the library. Nobody would be in here this early in the year. To his dismay two girls, about his age it would seem, were inside.

He'd started to turn and walk out but then a girl in the same house colors as him threw her book across the table. he involuntarily snickered at it and instantly clamped a hand over his mouth as he retrieved the book. He put it back in its place on the shelf. Books should not be mistreated. He turned back to see the girl stewing in her seat. The other, a Gryffindor, just gaped at the random display of fury at a harmless book. Maybe he'd walked in on a fight? Had something been said before his entry?

He shrugged and pulled a copy of a muggle novel from his backpack, beginning to read. Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult. It was a story about a quiet guy named Peter who had been bullied all of his life, and came to school and mowed all the jocks and preppy girls down with a pistol. It was a bit mundane, and quite dark, but he liked the overall theme. It wasn't about shooting, and the underlying sexual themes weren't that big of a deal. It was how well the author conveyed the emotions the boy was going through. He tried to keep the cover hidden in case anybody recognized the name. It wouldn't bode well in his first week of school to be discovered reading a book about a school shooting.

His startling blue eyes flicked from his pages to view the girls from across the room. He didn't like...people. But in small numbers they could be tolerated. He cleared his throat, desperately wanting to overcome his phobia. It was worse when it came to girls.

Trixie stared as the girl threw the book across the table, looking angry. The look on her face showed her feelings very clearly. Just as Trixie was considering saying something to her, a boy entered. He sat down nearby and buried himself in a book, looking uncomfortable. He cleared his throat awkwardly. Trixie decided to ignore him and turned back to the girl, who was still looking angry.
"Something wrong?" she asked her.

Lily glanced at the boy who picked up the book and placed it back on the shelf, she wasn't too happy about him doing this. She wanted to stare angerily at the book and the stupid things written on it, but the way he cleared his throat, gave Lily the impression that he didn't really like people or girls. She was the same, only people tended to hate her, not her hate them. Well she hated them too, but she'd made more enemies than friends. She did also hate them but that didn't really matter. Lily however chose to ignore this boy, if he plucked up some courage he might say something and at that point Lily would consider addressing him, her hazel brown eyes did look the boy up and down. Tall and dirty blonde. Lily looked away from the boy and to the girl, who'd stared at her. She glared slightly at the girl. What did it matter to this girl if something was wrong.

"Nothing's wrong," Lily snapped and said in a slightly icy tone. "And what would it matter to you anyway. I don't know you."

((Do they? Cool, Maybe that's something we could work with.))

Felix was trying his best not to laugh at them as he read, still trying his best not to draw attention. He'd noticed the Slytherin girl's eyes following him as he'd replaced the book. If looks could kill...he'd be lying on the floor. All for putting a book on a shelf? He had shaken it off and continued reading, eyeing the pair over the pages.

Both girls were...or well, had been reading 'Quidditch Through the Ages'. Maybe there had been a disagreement over that and that was why the book had been tossed? He caught her eyes as she was staring at him, giving hima once over before whipping her icy gaze back on the Gryffindor girl. His mind was racing as they traded words. Wow, she's feisty.... he thought with an inner giggle, turning a page. He slipped his book mark in and pretended to be interested in the book's cover. He hated crowds, but loved a bit of good drama. So long as he wasn't involved in it.

He took care of himself, and wasn't about to be either of the girls' knight in shining armor. He kept his eyes trained on them from two tables over, ready to get up and leave if things got rough. The way the girl in green snarled he was afraid she may be able to beat him up...

However, he admired the way she kept to herself...inadverdently. She didn't bother to introduce herself, just snapped for somebody to leave her alone. He on the other hand, didn't bother to make himself noticed in the first place.

{{ gah, I just realized 'trixie' was in the topic description. sorry, hope you didn't mind me jumping in :r }}

Trixe glared at the Slytherin girl. She hadn't expected such a rude answer! This girl was confirming all the stories she'd heard about Slytherin house. Then Trixie heard a snort of laughter. She turned to see the boy who had entered earlier looking down at his book, trying his best not to laugh. He seemed to be enjoying the drama. This was a feeling she herself was very familiar with. She supressed a giggle and turned back to the girl, keeping her face calm.
"I was only asking" she responded coolly. "I just don't see what's so wrong with that book! I think it's pretty interesting! If you don't like Quidditch, why were you even reading it?".
She tried her best to keep the anger out of her voice. She couldn't stand people like this!

{{felix, it's fine that you joined :) }}

Lily looked back over to the girl, her stared stay the same. This girl was stupid. And she just kept talking, wasn't this a library. Weren't people meant to be quiet, and then there was the boy. Who looked like he was about to laugh. Lily was considering asking the boy what he wanted. But this was between her and the other girl. The Gryffindor girl. Lily had to be hated by her, Slytherins hated Gryffindors. And vice versa. Lily looked back ahead of her, not looking at the boy or the girl, letting the girl's words settle in the air. She was pausing for dramatic effect. She'd cut the newly drawn silence with her cold hateful words.

"It's not that I didn't like the book, oh it was an interesting story alright, but I don't believe it. It's all a myth." Lily said lowering her voice ever so slightly. "And you're stupid enough to believe it. Only a gryffindor would be that stupid."

Felix couldn't help himself, he grinned back at the Gryffindor and traced the hands that were interlaced on the front cover of his book. They were raised slightly from the page. His eyes flicked up when the girl said Quidditch was interesting. A fellow fan? He lay down on the desk only to bolt upright once more at his house mate's retort. A myth? And she was calling the other girl stupid? he thought with a sneer, only to realize a moment later that he had spoken it aloud.

"Oh..." he squeaked, clamping a hand over his mouth. He was trying to figure out if he should laugh or cry at his stupidity. What was he thinking, jumping in like that? His eyes narrowed and he sank into his chair, awaiting the wrath of the snippety Slytherin.

Trixie couldn't believe what this girl was saying. Quidditch, a myth?
"But.. how could it possibly be a myth? What do you think the teams in the school are for? What do you think the World Cup is for? Just a joke? Come on.. haven't you seen the house teams out training?"
Trixie didn't like fighting with people, but she couldn't get over how naïve this girl was being. Did she think it was all some big conspiracy just to confuse people? That when the players where flying they were on strings or something?
"And what do you mean, "only a gryffindor would be that stupid"? I can't believe I'm being accused of being stupid by a Slytherin."
Trixie had no idea whether Slytherins were meant to be clever or stupid - the only rumours she'd heard about them were about the Dark Arts - but she had to say something to defend herself. Then, she heard the boy sitting nearby speak. He flushed red, obviously embarrassed by what he'd said. He seemed to eye the Slytherin girl nervously, waiting the angry response that would no doubt be coming. Trixie decided to say nothing, and waited also for the girl's reaction.

Lily could smile to herself, of course she knew that quidditch wasn't a myth but it the exact effect she wanted it to. This girl was annoyed. And it was easy to tell. Lily was annoyed to but she hid it better than the girl did. Though the hate of the girl burned in her hazel brown eyes. She tried her hardest to not laugh at this girl. This Stupid Gryffindor Girl. Lily knew that Slytherins were smart, they were cunning and sometimes sly. Both needed brains. And while the rest of the Slytherins might not be too smart, Lily was. She could speak 4 languages after all. That showed ulimate brains. She'd bet her wand that this girl couldn't speak four languages. She opened her mouth to retort to the girl, when a male voice spoke. She looked to the boy, who'd until that moment had been silent. She glared at this boy. Who was he to speak to them. To involve himself. What pleased Lily about this was that the boy seemed nervous, Lily might have mistaken for fear. She stood up from her chair. Slowly, not taking her eyes off the boy.

"Yes I am. I'm calling that girl." Lily said mockingly, pointing to the Gryffindor girl. "Stupid. She's very stupid. She doesn't seem to know that after Ravenclaws, Slytherins are smartest. Better than the germs in the so called brave house of this school." Lily smirked at the boy, still not taking her eyes off him. "Do you have a problem with me calling this girl stupid?"

Felix went into panic mode as the girl lashed out at him, sinking further into his chair as she seemed to grow taller....and impossibly meaner. She glared at the Gryffindor girl for a beat or two and then when she was about to retaliate he had spoken up. He shook his head at himself, standing and gathering his things,"I...." he was at a loss for words as he shuffle d behind the table.

"Erm, not a problem perse...however apparently not all Slytherins are smart. If you knew so much about Magic and it's history you wouldn't have called Quidditch a myth, and you certainly wouldn't call Slytherins smart because the famed Draco Malfoy's cronies were some of the stupidest people the magical world has ever seen. Death Eaters usually come from Slytherin and the majority of them are as you say cunning, and the other half or so are well...dumb little dogs being led around on a leash who don't know anything better to do....in my opinion that is." he blathered for a bit before his eyes rolled back in his head and he collapsed -in a faint- upon the floor.

In reality he had no idea why he was in Slytherin other than the fact that he liked solitude and looking out for himself, but why on the first day out of his dorm, had he involved himself in this spat. It wasn't to stand up for the pretty Gryffindor was it? Or to prove the ice queen wrong? Those were in turn Gryffindor and Ravenclaw traits.

[Have I got this right, he's passed out?]

Lily continued to stay standing as this boy spoke. Explained. Lily knew that maybe saying quidditch was a myth was stretching things a little. But as she watched this boy, talk abd talk, she couldn't help but be amused. The cronies of some boy name Draco Malfoy, who Lily knew nothing about, must have gone to the other hogwarts she'd heard about. The one in the UK. Lily couldn't help but think that those were the stupid slytherins. All the Slytherins, Lily had met were smart. And from she'd heard the "Glam Squad" who were in Slytherin were all pretty smart. Lily just knew that after Ravenclaw Slytherins were smarter. Lily continued to eye this boy with the hate she felt towards him. If you could see hate burn like fire, her eyes would be a crimson colour. She watched as the boy collapsed. Lily stared at the boy, before bursting into laughter. The boy had collapsed. Lily couldn't help but feel proud of herself. She gave the gryffindor girl a smirk. Not showing any signs of moving to help the boy. She glared at the girl now.

"See what happens when people stand up for you. And stand up to me." Lily said. "They all just fall. Like when they first stand they're the falling water in a water fall, and I just freeze it. Look what you did to this boy, with your lack of bravery and abilty to stand up for yourself. Now go help your stupid little boyfriend. Or are you too stupid to be able to?"

Trixe watched as the girl rounded on the boy. She was talking quite harshly to him, and she hadn't expected him to retaliate at all. She herself certainly wouldn't have know what to say. But she got a shock when the boy spoke up. She had to hold back her laughter as the boy insulted Slytherin house (though she wasn't quite sure why he was doing this, as he was wearing Slytherin robes himself), but then she jumped up from her seat with a gasp. The boy had fainted! Before she had a chance to help him, the Slytherin girl had burst out laughing. Then, she rounded on Trixie. Trixie felt anger bubble inside her as the girl called her stupid yet again. And she was trying to blame her for the boy fainting! How could it possibly be her fault? Just because he'd stood up for her...
"Don't be so stupid!" she burst out. "It's got nothing to do with him standing up to you, he probably just hasn't eaten or something! You really aren't as scary as you seem to think you are. And what do you mean, 'boyfriend'? I've never even seen him before. You just don't like the fact that he said you were wrong."

Onyx heard a commotion coming from the other end of the library. By the time she'd arrived one boy was laid out cold and two girls were having a screaming match. She took note of their houses and crossed her arms, striding up quickly to stand between them,"Enough! Now then....." She glanced to a shelf, sensing something wasn't right and saw a tear in the spine of her newest copy of 'Quidditch Through the Ages" and nearly fainted herself.

"An explaination is in order, ladies.." she muttered, taking the book from the shelf and holding it close like a small child. She tucked her dark brown hair behind her ears and adjusted her glasses for a moment, kneelign by the boy to check his pulse. They'd had a death scare the year before and she didn't want anything happening in her library. Or anywhere on school grounds for that matter.

Lily could've continued laughing when a librian turned up. Lily smirked at the women. She didn't care that everything she had been taught at her previous school, like manners and respect for others were out the window. She scoffed at the explanation. There was no way she was giving one. Never. This while was her fault, she wasn't about to take the blame for it.

"There is nothing to explain apart from how this sorry excuse for a Slytherin shouldn't be such a little Hufflepuff girl." Lily said with a smirk. "Now, if you excuse me." Lily said as she begun to walk from where she'd been standing at her chair towards the exit.

"Oh, and it was that Gryffindor girl who threw that book, not me." Lily added just before disappearing from sight and out the library. Lily had learnt the art of a quick exit.
