Alternate RP Outside the walls

This is a roleplay outside of the site's canon.
Nia was much chattier with Scarlett than she was with Felton, but what was new. He turned to Felix who like himself had been left in the sand, left to catch up by themselves. "She's talking to Mils," Felton said out loud, as though Felix couldn't see that for himself. The redhead glanced at the older boy, still unsure as to what went down exactly last summer. "She's barely mentioned you," he added, casting his eyes back to the scene unfolding in front of them, "It's been a bit weird actually." They'd been tied to the hip for weeks, but the moment Felix had left for school it was like Mils had forgotten who he was. "I take it you dumped her?"

Felix didn't know how to take it that Mils hadn't spoken about it to Felton. Of all people, surely he was the one she would have turned to? "You can't dump someone you never dated," Felix corrected, glad that Nia was temporarily out of ear shot. "She just got too close, that's all." He hadn't exactly had time to explain the situation, and once he'd left for school it wasn't exactly as though he could send a text or an owl to tell his friends that he'd told one of them their fling was over. It was probably a good thing Amelia hadn't mentioned it, it just meant she didn't care anymore either. No one else needed the details, it wasn't important. "What about you?" Felix changed the subject quickly, glancing in the boys direction, "How's your mum?"

Felton thought Felix had a strange definition of date but he didn't push it. By all accounts he was the one getting close to her, so it was hardly fair to make out Mils was the one in the wrong. Felton had been apprehensive when Felix had joined, even more so when he'd left them in a worse state. The verdict was still out as to whether Felix was welcome in his eyes, although for the sake of the others Felton wasn't going to say anything just yet.

"Leave my mum out of it," he snapped, although he caught sight of the boys glance and smirked. The ongoing joke about the state of his muggle mother was a topic that often left the group feeling lighthearted, but there was still a time and a place. "She's fine. I'm fine." He was still trying to work out how to tell everyone that he was planning to start attending school next year, in a way that would mean he wouldn't be around as much anymore. Like Felix, he'd only ever be able to see his friends during the holidays. "We're just, moving along out here Fe."

Mania was a tad bit nervous how the group would react to her, for some reason this Mils girl made her extremely nervous. Maybe it was the part of her that loved all her sisters and wanted to think all girls were practically her best friends, that wanted this one to be too. As the other girl smiled and said they didn't mind her joining Nia felt her smile grow in size again. Phew, that was good. As she mentioned though that Fifi hadn't said anything about her tagging along she turned to glance at the other Gryffindor behind, biting the corner of her lip. Maybe she should have insisted the boy let the group know in advance but these were his friends and she figured it ought to be done in his terms, he knew them best.

Turning back to the rest of the group Mania let the comment glide over like water off of a duck's back as she smiled. "Ah he probably forgot, I'll make sure next time you'll know if I'm joining you," she said with a nod. They were being very nice to her which made all the nerves sizzle down and it was so much easier to just be herself. At the mention of swimming Nia grinned again, this time a little mischievous even as she turned to Scarlett. "I take it you like swimming? Good, growing up we spent all summers in Greece at the family house so swimming was a must, therefore I grew to enjoy it too." She explained eagerly, glancing to the water. "Is it deep enough for one to just run off the dock without hurting yourself?" Hera always said she shouldn't do that regardless or not if the water was deep enough, but her big sister wasn't here now and Mania had no intention of being overly careful.

Kai hung back as Scarlett and Mils made themselves known to the newcomer. The boy was busying fixing up the blanket his friend had lobbed at him anyway, but he didn't mind. He kept to himself, moving their bags out of the way to create some more space, although he too wished that Felix had told them before now that they were expecting additional company. In some ways he felt responsible for the others, something he didn't want them to know, but having kids from other places join them put him on edge. At least by the looks of it, Scarlett was able to keep her talking for long enough that Kai didn't think the new girl would notice the number of time he was looking at her, trying to sus her out.

Lucas preferred to sit himself in a chair than to sprawl out on the sand or the hard decking. It didn't help his back which was sore at the best of times. He'd waved at Nia when Scarlett introduced them, although he was more interested to see that Felix had returned. It had been a fun summer with him around last year, frankly the more the merrier for their group. Now that Mils and Felix had split up too it was just a bonus for Lucas, who was doing everything he could to get Mils to notice him (although albeit somewhat unsuccessfully). "Why don't you jump in, find out for yourself?" he grinned at Nia's question, half a mind to push her in the deep end to truly break the ice.

Mania was still perring at the water when Lucas with the hair said why didn't she jump in to find out for herself. There was a wicked grin on her face as she turned to look at the boy, eyes sparking at the challenge. "Say less!" The Gryffindor exclaimed with glee. Throwing her backpack down she didn't bother to remove her top and shorts from over her bikini. She could just let them dry in the sun later. Kicking her shoes off Mania gave the group a quick salute before turning to glance to Fifi briefly. Then she ran and jumped. As her body collided with the water and she found the water was deep enough she took a deep breath just before her head was submerged in the water. Thank Merlin she'd not put on any mascara.

Fifi was glad to see that Nia was already getting on well with his friends, and even Mils was being civil. He vaguely heard something from Lucas, but it sounded suspiciously competitive. Anyone that dared Nia to do something ought to realise she'd probably follow throuugh with it, it was why Felix was confident enough to bring her here in the first place. Everyone here was willing to throw themselves into the deep end and Felix chuckled as he watched the brunette leap off the dock, clothes and all.

"Ayeee," Felix wrapped an arm over Mils shoulder in an attempt to appear somewhat normal in front of the group, before walking them over to Kai who was now watching Nia quizzically. "Go on, you can't let her be the only one," he said, releasing his friend and kicking the chair of another. If they were going to tell Nia to get in then they too were going for a swim.

Scarlett could feel the tension in the air the moment Nia leapt into the water. She sighed, a glance at Lucas with irritation behind her eyes as she'd just wanted to ask more questions about Greece and her sisters. The blonde however was more than happy to get back into the water, diving straight off the end before anyone could mention it. She was under the water for a few seconds before her head finally broke the surface again, and she started peering around for her new friend.

Felix may have been trying to act as though everything was fine between them but he was only kidding himself. Milly ducked under his arm, immediately moving to the opposite side of Kai before peering into the water after Nia. She waiting to see where Nia was reappear, to see whether she was all talk and no action. She may have just jumped in because she thought people were watching, and be out the moment they turned their backs. After a few seconds, staring at the water, Milly was starting to get a little concerned. Scarlett had already joined her and popped her head back out but Nia was still no where to be seen. "Where did she go?"

Felton had already dried off his clothes once today, he didn't plan on giving it a second go. He followed after the rest of the group, taking his usual seat on the edge of the dock and dangling his feet over the edge. There was a reason this was the spot they often came to. Not too many people knew about it, it was remote enough that unless you used one of the fishing boats you'd never come out here, and yet it was close enough to the village that if they ever needed supplies they didn't have to go very far. "Probably your time then Fe," Felton teased, glancing back up at the blonde.

Lucas sniggered as no sooner as he made the suggestion, new girl was off. Straight off. She flew for a couple of seconds, as though she had actually managed to hover above the surface for a moment, before the splash replaced her, soaking him in the process. "Dunno, maybe you should find out," he said to Mils, nudging her in the back of her knees as she peered over the edge, just enough for her to lose her balance too, and join the other girls in the lake.

Mania liked the feel of the water. She'd often played mermaids with Gaia growing up, though if she ever told anyone that with the Slytherin around she'd probably be gone by the next morning. Nia was accustomed to holding her breath longer than she probably should be due to those little games they'd played, but even then it hadn't been too long before she popped her head back up. Moving her wet hair out of her face she looked around at the other people just as Lucas made Amelia fall into the water. Swimming over to the girl in quick strides she made sure she was okay. "You good?" She gave the girl another smile and peered up at the dock. "Don't make me drag you down here Fifi, I'll do it and you know it!" She challenged him both with her words and eyes. "I think we should definitely sneak up behind Lucas when he isn't looking and either push him in or just straight up drag him down with us right now." She whispered back to Amelia and Scarlett. He'd pushed Amelia in, it was his turn.

Felix caught sight of Kai glancing his way at Nia's illustrative nickname for him, but the Gryffindor just shrugged it off. His friends at Hogwarts were definitely more creative when it came to his nicknames, no one around here was ever going to call him anything like mi lord for one.

Crossing his arms over, Felix grabbed the bottom of his shirt and pulled it off over his head. Nia may have been happy to jump in with more than just her swimming gear on but Felix didn't feel like getting weighed down by his layers. He tossed his shirt into Lucas's lap, before getting a run up. By the time he was in the air, he'd lifted his legs up to his chest, to make the biggest splash he could between the three girls in the water.

Mils had screamed on the way down, practically belly flopping against the surface in the most ungraceful way. She should have expected something like that from Lucas who constantly seemed intent on driving her up the wall whenever he could, but not when she'd been concerned for the latest member of their clan. "Yeah, I'm good," she'd replied to Nia, a little out of breath and sheepish in front of her. Like all the members, she was a fair swimmer, and was now treading water. In truth she was just glad to see that Nia had emerged too, and that they hadn't just told a girl they didn't know if could swim to jump into a lake in which they couldn't even see the bottom. She moved out of Felix's way just in time for him to dive bomb beside her, shoving a load of water his way in discontent.

Kai knew it was easy to blend in with a group as active as theirs, but that didn't stop him from wanting to know more about Nia. He crouched down beside Felton, ignoring the commotion Felix was creating and and disregarding the way Lucas seemed to be stirring the pot. "It's Mania, right?" Kai called out, trying to get her attention once she'd finished gossiping. "Are you learning Law, too?" he asked. Felix had told them how his boarding school was a specialist one, one that meant he could one day work for the government, not that Kai could picture someone like Felix running a village hall let alone the country. Like Felix, Nia didn't exactly seem the type to be pursuing a career in politics however.

Mania was a bit disappointed she didn't get to drag Felix down into the water with them, she tried to look away as he was taking off his shirt but like.... He was giving a free show and now who was Mania to refuse such? When he jumped into the water, right in between all of them, Nia wrinkled her nose at the splashes of water wiping it off her face. Her head shot to the person that seemed oldest, in ways he reminded her of a mixture of Gaia and Hera, sort of looming around keeping his ever observant gaze on everyone.

Suddenly she felt like she was under a spotlight at the use of her full name and all. "Yes, but only my parents and Hera really call me by that name. Or the government, take your pick, most people just go with Nia." She explained, leaving Menace out of the equation completely. She was thrown into another loop at the mention of law? What? Who studied law at this age? Though she supposed Fifi had had to come up with something. "Not by choice, my parents, well mum, more or less forced me into a school where I could study it. She's a peach like that, wants us all to be either politicians or socialites like her," that was the best she could come up with, no idea what Felix had told the group. "She said and I quote; I didn't have this many daughters for all of them to do nothing useful with their lives." She mimicked her mothers voice and accent to a T, even flipping her hair like the woman always did.

Felix was too busy being underwater to hear that Kai had asked Nia a question. It was only when he remerged from the lake that he heard the third year talking about how her mum was forcing her to become a socialite. He flicked his head back, hair sticking up and turning back to face Kai who was now peering at like them a hawk on a perch. He didn't know what tactic his friend was currently imploring onto Nia, but he'd been on the end of it once too. He swam up behind Nia, wrapping his arms around her waist and kissing the side of her head, "Don't think this one is capable of not doing anything useful," he murmured quietly, mostly to her but not particularly making the effort to stop others hearing too.

The blonde was kicking his feet under the surface, gently bobbing in one position. "What are you doing anyway?" He threw back at Kai, keen to take the spotlight off Nia. It wasn't that he didn't trust her, but it was still a lot to feel like they lead a double life they couldn't talk about. "Your dad still want you to graduate early?"

Scarlett wasn't quite sure what a socialite even was, except someone that was social. If that was the case, it was probably a good job for her too one day, if she didn't already have her own plans. Nia had made a good point earlier, dragging Lucas into the water too to get him back for what he'd done to Mils. She took the chance of the others being distracted to dip back under the water, only reappearing softly once she was under the deck. She slithered through the water like an eel, until she could pull herself up by the wood behind Lucas's chair. It would have been so easy to yank him backwards, although she wasn't sure she had the strength to do it on her own.

Mania could only hope Kai had bought her little story, it wasn't all fake after all. It was some small lies mixed with a hint of truth, such as what her mum had said to them last year. She'd gone into a spiral when Hera had brought up her idea of becoming an event planner after graduation, her mum thought Hera should do something more prestigious, matter of fact all of them should. Except she didn't have high hopes for Nia, as per usual.

Being caught in the storm of thoughts and memories about her peach of a mum Nia was caught off guard when hands circled around her waist and then she felt a kiss on the side of her head. It was such a small thing to do but it unleashed an army of butterflies in her stomach. Not being able to help the smile, nor the blush Mania turned her head sideways to look at Felix. "You should try to tell that to her." She said and instantly regretted it. "Or maybe not, she'd argue with you. She likes to argue with people I think." Or maybe it was just people that dared to think differently from her. When Felix was focused on shooting a question back to Kai Nia took the opportunity to plant a kiss on his cheek but it was a little off its mark and ended on his jaw. Oh well, while they were in the water they were the closest to being the same height they'd ever be and she wasn't about to miss such chance. What she did miss however was Scarlett sneaking behind Lucas, looking like she was now contemplating her earlier plan.
