"Five minutes until the new year. Quick, Red, what is it that you want most in 2040?" Sebastian asked Kathryn as they stood out on the balcony, enjoying the warm breeze. It had been years since Sebastian had rung in the New Year in a climate that required a coat. He was pretty alright with that, especially since Kat would have been dressed vastly different if the temperature was below freezing. The view beside them was gorgeous, but Sebastian wouldn’t have been able to describe any of it. His gaze was too busy fixed on the redhead in front of him. Running his hand down the woman's arm, Sebastian leaned against the balcony’s ledge and waited to hear what she would say. He had an empty champagne glass in his hand, just waiting for a waiter to come out and refill it.

It had been a fun evening, the two of them leaving behind their families though surrounded by many friendly faces as they got ready to say goodbye to 2039 and hello to 2040. It had been a busy year for both of them, Sebastian beginning to tour once more, though this time as a solo artist, and Kat had taken on several roles, her star rising in Hollywood. Sebastian was grateful for the lives that they were both leading even if he always wanted more time for the two of them. He’d joked around about obtaining a time-turner just so they could literally have more time with each other, but he really didn’t want to mess with that. He knew that things could go terribly wrong when time was messed with, and with as good as both of their lives were going, Sebastian didn’t want to do anything to mess things up. It had taken the pair long enough to become a couple, something that Sebastian took all of the blame for. He smiled up at his girlfriend. Really, he was sure that whatever came out of her mouth right now would happen. Kathryn had such an optimism that good things always seemed to happen for her. And, if there was anything that he could do to make whatever she said happen, he knew that he would with no question.

The corners of her mouth quipped up into a grin at Sebastian's question, thinking that he would never cease to amuse her or bring a smile to her face. Katheryn Kingsley stood across from her very handsome boyfriend with a champagne flute in her hand. She took a sip from the glass as she looked out over the balcony at the tropical scene. Katheryn had been glad to get away from her family, her manager, and the pressures of her career. Seeing her family last week at Kiera and Carter's wedding party had been great, but she was sometimes glad for the geographical space between her siblings and herself. Kiera and Cameron frequently still treated her as the baby in the family despite the fact that she was a successful actress now. She was happy to be celebrating another new year with her love.

Katheryn didn't have to think about the answer to his question. She knew exactly what she wanted and what she would always want. "More time with you. That's all I really want, and all I need to be happy." she said. Kat reached up and brushed her hand across his face in an affectionate gesture. Kat had decided to take a little time off from making movies, but she hadn't told Sebastian yet. She planned to surprise him with at least three months worth of time where she could go on tour and be with him like a normal girlfriend would be. Kat moved closer to him wrapping and arm around his waist. "What do you want for 2040, Bas?"

The speed at which she answered the question didn't surprise Sebastian in the slightest. Kathryn was a woman who knew what she wanted. Smiling at her words and that she'd drawn ever close to him, the man leaned his head down, taking his time to kiss her cheek and then moving down to her jaw before he responded. "A time turner" he quipped at his old standby response before turning serious and moving away from her face. He could have stayed there all night but he did want to ring in the new year before they apparated back to their room to enjoy the rest of the evening. "But really, I want the same thing. You. However I can get you. Even if it's just an hour here, a day there, I'll take it...and try to not complain when we are together about all the times we're not."

Sebastian was happy at how successful they'd both been in the past year and was working on being alright with how often their careers kept them from each other. So, he was determined to enjoy each time they came together without being pissed about how little time it actually was. As the party continued around them, Sebastian was in his own little world with Kathryn until a woman came by and shoved some 2040 items into his hand before quickly refilling his empty glass. He glanced down and chuckled before donning 2040 glasses, the zeroes used for the eyes and holding out the other item to Kat. Grabbing her hand, Sebastian could see the huge countdown on the screen. "It's almost time" he stated excitedly, moving his arm around her shoulders.
