"Five minutes until the new year. Quick, Red, what is it that you want most in 2040?" Sebastian asked Kathryn as they stood out on the balcony, enjoying the warm breeze. It had been years since Sebastian had rung in the New Year in a climate that required a coat. He was pretty alright with that, especially since Kat would have been dressed vastly different if the temperature was below freezing. The view beside them was gorgeous, but Sebastian wouldnt have been able to describe any of it. His gaze was too busy fixed on the redhead in front of him. Running his hand down the woman's arm, Sebastian leaned against the balconys ledge and waited to hear what she would say. He had an empty champagne glass in his hand, just waiting for a waiter to come out and refill it.
It had been a fun evening, the two of them leaving behind their families though surrounded by many friendly faces as they got ready to say goodbye to 2039 and hello to 2040. It had been a busy year for both of them, Sebastian beginning to tour once more, though this time as a solo artist, and Kat had taken on several roles, her star rising in Hollywood. Sebastian was grateful for the lives that they were both leading even if he always wanted more time for the two of them. Hed joked around about obtaining a time-turner just so they could literally have more time with each other, but he really didnt want to mess with that. He knew that things could go terribly wrong when time was messed with, and with as good as both of their lives were going, Sebastian didnt want to do anything to mess things up. It had taken the pair long enough to become a couple, something that Sebastian took all of the blame for. He smiled up at his girlfriend. Really, he was sure that whatever came out of her mouth right now would happen. Kathryn had such an optimism that good things always seemed to happen for her. And, if there was anything that he could do to make whatever she said happen, he knew that he would with no question.
