Ought to Be Easy, Ought to Be Simple Enough

Rory couldn't believe who she was supposed to deliver her next rose to. What had she ever done to deserve this? Sure, this particular Professor Styx wasn't likely to murder you for making noise while she was lecturing, but Rory had now failed her class two years in a row. Even approaching the woman's office for a rose delivery didn't particularly ease her... uneasiness. Knocking on the door frame, Rory stuck her head through the door. "Professor? Um, I have a rose delivery for you, if now's a good time?"

Patricia was blissfully unaware of the buzz around the castle with the annual rose deliveries currently taking place. Patricia never experienced the event as a student during her time at Hogwarts but she treasured it as a Professor, seeing the joy in someones eyes was such a sweet thing to witness. Sitting in her office, marking papers as per usual, she was surprised when there was a knock on her door - two years in she was still surprised when people came to her door, she was a Professor after all and it wasn't an uncommon thing. Not lifting her eyes from the paper she was currently reading she called for the person to come in and didn't see who it was until they began talking. A soft smile graced the Professor's lips and her heart swelled just a little when she saw there was a rose for her. "Miss Night, of course, come in." She said sweetly, getting up from behind her desk. Aurora wasn't one of her best students, that was true, but Patricia knew History of Magic wasn't for everyone and hoped that she, and all her students, knew that her door was always open for any help they may need. "Thank you for delivering this." she said gesturing to the pink rose in the young girls hand.

"Oh, um, no problem." Rory floundered for a moment, then stepped forward to place the rose on Professor Styx's desk. "And there's a note too somewhere, hold on..." Locating it, Rory handed it over to the woman, wondering which of the other professors had sent it to her. Surely it had to be from another professor - although either alternative was sort of gross to think about. She barely even accepted her own parents having mushy feelings for each other.
