ooc name search

i have a small suggestion.
maybe it would be a good idea to ass a ooc name search in the members section. as many people have multiple characters, and it is hard to keep track of who's who. so sometimes i may want to see if say pat has been online since i was last on, because i have a plot, with her. so i could just search that ooc name (just like i could search an ic name, or group) and it would show me what accounts are operated with that name, and all of the other normal information.

While I agree that this feature would be super helpful, it's not really possible to create at this time. Sorry.

I'm not sure it ever will be, really.
Unfortunately ZetaBoards doesn't have the option to search custom profile fields anywhere, and creating it from scratch would require hosting a new database for it all, which would become impossible to create/keep up to date because it wouldn't really have a way of grabbing any of the current OOC name information, grabbing it if a new member registers with some, or updating it if somebody updates their profile.
As well, even if I could get a separate database up just for that purpose, it would make maintaining it frustrating because often people put false names in the OOC name field, and staff will remove them if they see that. However, if staff remove them it wouldn't remove it from the database, either.

So while I definitely think this feature would be greatly helpful and beneficial, I also realize that we just don't have the means to do it right now, and may never.
