Lucy was loving her new life as a professor in New Zealand, but every once and a while, it got emotionally tiring being away from England. For the first semester in 2027, Lucy only had one class to teach, so this week she decided to visit the UK for a little bit and return back to work cured of her homesickness. It was a very pleasant rainy day with only a mild rain. Lucy was hoping to see someone she knew so she could talk to them or reminisce, so she was looking her best. She had her umbrella above her head and she sat on a park bench pondering where she could go to get a bite to eat. Little raindrops patted her umbrella and she sighed. Lucy thought to herself, "Where am I supposed to go first? Home? Charles' Pub? Lord & Taylor? I thought coming home would be good... now it's only adding more stress." England was were Lucy spent so much of her life and yet, she couldn't figure out where to go on her day out. A bus pulled up to the bench she was sitting on and she shook her head to tell the driver that she wasn't getting on. He drove off and Lucy continued to sit there thinking. Lucy stood up and made an "executive" decision. "I'm going to go get a salad at this nice looking place across the street!" Lucy stood up proudly to go eat some lunch, and before she could take more than 5 steps, a car sped right in-fornt of her on the street and splashed her with the puddle it drove through.

"Oh you've got to be kidding me," Lucy shouted out loud. She wiped the water off her trench-coat and tapped her boots on the edge of the sidewalk to get the water off of them. She put on a determined grin and re-tried her proud walk over to the Luncheonette. When she arrived inside, she ordered a light salad and sat down to enjoy it. She took her first bite and it was truthfully tasty. Eating made her feel better. When Lucy was about halfway done with her salad, someone walked into the little restaurant and Lucy swallowed a whole bunch of lettuce by accident. She coughed a bit and her mouth dropped open. "Oh my God... No way..."

Why in hell was Aran in England? Well, it was true that he did have his own connections here, but for the most part it was on a whim. After all Spain was just getting too tiresome. Being an artist was becoming a tad annoying as well. It was enough for him to get by, not to mention that it attracted the attention of his newest flame. Although there was always that one spot in his heart reserved for his two best friends. Well, really, best friend and ex-girlfriend now. 'Hm... I'm really hungry.' He thought to himself. He hadn't had breakfast or lunch yet. One of the bad parts of living on your own was the simple fact that no one could cook for you. Aran after all, would find a way to burn cereal. It was then that he saw the Luncheonette. The man smirked and walked into the establishment, fixing the hems of all of his clothing.

Unlucky for Lucy, he had seen her right away. "Smartie!" Aran grinned and ran over, ignoring the hunger and pulling her into a tight, strong hug. "I haven't seen you in forever! How have you been!?" The man's voice overwhelmed the quiet surrounding, attracting attention.

Lucy dropped her fork on the floor when Aran pounced on her like a jungle cat. "Oh! Aran! Hey!" Lucy struggled to get free, and when she finally did, she stood up. "Don't attack me like that! You know that if you do that at the wrong place at the wrong time you might end up getting yourself hurt!" Lucy laughed at her own lame joke. She had this thing with not being able to tell good jokes. The entire Cafe was watching the two so Lucy gestured for them to go outside. As she held the door for Aran instinctively, she opened her large umbrella. When they were outside, she saw that Aran wasn't really dressed for rain, so she beckoned him to come under the umbrella with her. "It's so great to see you! How was everything been going? Any..." Lucy looked around to make sure no one was in earshot, "Magic in your life?" Lucy grinned. She loved the topic of Magic, and she couldn't wait to go on a thousand raves about teaching at Hogwarts. "IT'S SO GREAT," she pictured herself screaming to Aran when he asked how teaching was going. But then it hit her, Aran didn't know she was a professor yet. A lightbulb dinged in Lucy's head. She didn't particularly enjoy bragging, but there was rarely an opportunity for Lucy to talk much to anyone about being a professor since all her peers were professors (therefor, the conversations would get redundant). Before she even realized that she hadn't even let Aran reply, Lucy began talking again. "So, how's your love life," Lucy asked with a comedic and over-the-top wink. There she goes again, trying to be funny and failing.
