Jess was not often nervous for things, but for some reason she was nervous about this - potentially meeting up with Asaiah while she visited his school for the Quidditch tournament. Despite the fact that he had stopped responding to any of her letters this year, which was a huge contrast to how often they used to write each other, a small part of her still hoped there was a good explanation for his disappearance. So even though he might not show up, Jess still sent him a note explaining that she would be at Hogwarts for the tournament and she'd like to meet up with him. Part of her wanted to venture out into the Forbidden Forest to see what it was all about but another part of her didn't want to get in trouble while at Hogwarts and somehow be benched for the game or something, so instead Sica just asked Asaiah to meet her at the lake since it was the easiest place she could describe to meet her at. The sixth year paced the lakefront and threw small rocks into the lake's surface as she waited to see if he would show up.

Asaiah sighed. He wasn't sure whether or not meeting up with Jessica was such a good thing to do as he had ignored every letter she'd sent him after the Christmas holidays - he had not even cared to open them since there was too much going on for him to even know where to start once he would write back to the girl. But there was a part of him that was dying to see the pink-haired girl again after such a long time of not having seen or spoken to her. He stopped for a moment once he arrived at the lakefront, tilting his head sideways as he noticed Jessica standing there with a different hair colour than the last time he saw her, which he guessed was fair since he hadn't seen her for five months. Asaiah walked up to the older Beater, half expecting her to slap him in the face for not responding to her once he would be standing in front of her. He took a deep breath before asking, ''Anyone ever tell you look stunning with this colour?'' whilst pointing at Jessica's hair. It was when he stood in front of the girl that he realised how much he'd actually missed her.

Sica turned around once she heard the crunch of footsteps approaching nearby and saw Asaiah approaching. She smiled instinctively at him without thinking of all the unanswered letters. He looked taller somehow, or maybe Sica had just remembered him wrong, but he looked different anyway. She chuckled at his comment and nodded her head slightly. "Yeah actually lots of people have," she said with a casual shrug, intending to make a joke, but somehow it came out less jokingly than she wanted and more like she was trying to rub it in his face. Jessica bit her lip and tucked a red strand of hair behind her ear as she said, "Sorry, I was just kidding." It was clear she was unwittingly holding some animosity toward the Slytherin. "But thanks," she added belatedly to his compliment. She had dyed it a few months ago when she was feeling really down so she wanted something new to shake things up. She inhaled deeply and smiled at him to make sure he understood she was't really mad at him and asked, "So, how are you?"

He nodded his head when she told him that lots of people had called her stunning with her new hair colour, not really knowing what to say to that because it sounded more like mad at him. He wanted to apologise for not responding to any of her letters but just didn't quite know where to start. Jessica's smile before she asked him how he was doing made him feel a little better about meeting the girl here. He was doing a lot better than before his talk with his friends so perhaps talking about it worked after all. It did, however, not make it easier for him to talk about what had happened to other people other than the ones that already knew about it. ''I'm okay,'' the teen told her, though glad to see that she wasn't too mad at him. ''What about you?'' he then asked stepping closer to the girl, ''Nervous about the match?'' Asaiah was genuinely curious as to how the match would unfold as both his best friends were going to play against Jessica.

Jessica shrugged and replied, "I'm fine," with nothing else to report at the moment. She wondered how Asaiah could remain so casual when he hadn't responded to her letters all year, but she didn't want to ask and ruin things because they were finally talking now. She tried not to think about the fact that the only reason they were talking was because she and her teammates had traveled all this way to play, so if it wasn't for that convenient reason would Asaiah never have talked to her again? Instead Jess focused on the match he asked about and cracked a smile. She shook her head no to answer his question. "Nah. We're totally ready to redeem ourselves this year," she said proudly, laughing a little. "Pity it's not against your team though," she said to him, thinking of how fun it would've been to play against him in an official match. "How did your team do this year?" she wondered. Clearly they hadn't won the cup but she wondered if it was the same situation as last year where they had won their final game but lost the cup due to points.
