Teddy didn’t really feel like going to the Yule Ball without Hugo. Of couse he could still have fun without his boyfriend there but everything felt a bit less exciting without him around. Still, there were perks like he got to dress up for one. He’d spent way too long finding the perfect shirt to match his pink suit and tie perfectly, settling on a yellow one in the end, then styled his hair how he normally did and leaving just in time to make the opening of the ball. He looked good and smelt good too, and that was important since he was head boy and probably had more people looking at him than most, which didn't bother him one bit and he was definitely known to play up to the attention. Not tonight though, he was just chilling out and having fun tonight. He made sure to look respectable while the headmaster gave his opening speech then clapped and immediately tuned out to scan the faces. He really hoped he'd see someone fun who he wanted to hang out with and would make his last Yule Ball enjoyable.

Tori was in a white dress for the dance, Stefan wasn't far somewhere, getting drinks or food she assumed as she looked around. She spotted Teddy immediately, their headboy has always had a way of standing out among their peers. His peers specifically since he was older than her. She tried to catch his attention and waved, heading over. "Hey Headboy. The pink looks really good on you." she couldn't really say what looked good or didn't but she thought this was the case. Teddy was one of the people she'd missed when she was in Durmstrang, he'd been one of the first people she's spoken to about how much her life was in chaos and had weirded made her feel a bit better about it. She'd followed his advice pretty closely from then on, trying not to take things too seriously. "Enjoying your last yule ball?"

Teddy spotted Tori weaving her way towards him and gave her a wave back since he'd always had a soft spot for the younger Gryffindor, "Hey Tori!" He grinned and flopped his hand away when she complimented the pink suit, “Oh, stop it, you’ll make me blush. But thanks, I do like my pink suits." He relaxed a bit, glad to see her again after some time. “You look lovely by the way. Love the white dress." Then she reminded him that this was his last ball and he took in a breath, “I know weird right? How is this school going to cope without me?" Or rather how was Teddy going to cope in the big bad world was more the question. "I keep thinking I should be doing something memorable for the last one but I don’t know what, got any suggestions?"

Tori liked Teddy, for a number of reasons really, not one single thing in particular. He'd always been one of those faces around the school, he hadn't been a prefect her first year of course, but in her second year he had and that had meant she'd seen him with a badge more than she'd seen him without one. He as kind go the face around the school, and she didn't really consider than an exaggeration. "Please, as if you needed anyone to make you blush," she teased him lightly, glancing over the pink lapels. "Social anxiety must be scared of you Teddy Pirrip." he wore confidence like most people wore their favourite jumpers, and honestly it was so unfair. After all, Tori had never really considered herself to be an especially confident person.

She tucked one of her curls behind her ear at his compliment, she swished the skirt of her dress a little, because yes actually, she really rather did enjoy being noticed, especially by someone she admired. "Thank you. I figured if you were going to show up looking like a s strawberry macaron, someone should probably be vanilla chic." she hadn't known how she was going to dress like this until tonight, and she hadn't known how Teddy was going to dress until tonight either, so that wasn't true, but it was fun to pretend and make jokes all the same. "It's gonna be weird after, you've always just kinda been the face of the school, specially with the trophies and everything, so... you know, you have a Teddy legacy, and it's gonna be so different when the head of the Teddy legacy isn't here anymore." She'd always liked Teddy, he's always had a way of making her feel better simply by just talking to her.

She didn't think she could say that was true for everyone.

"As for memorable things, you should dance with everyone." she made sure to discourage him if he tried to protest. "No seriously, ask everyone for a dance, first years, wall flowers, professors - hell the bloody suits of armour might wanna get in on it. Make sure no one leaves the dance tonight without being able to say they've danced with Teddy Pirrip, the HNZ headboy of 2066 - if you want a legacy, that's probably a good one. No one would get forgotten on Teddy Pirrip's night."

Teddy burst out laughing at the macaron comment and it was proper laughing because honestly Tori wasn’t that far off. “A strawberry macaron?!” he repeated. “I love that. Maybe I’ll come as a pistachio for the valentines dance.” He frowned a little, realising that would be the last dance he’d ever have at Hogwarts before he graduates. His smile returned quickly though, “And you don't strike me as vanilla. Maybe like, coconut or something."

He soaked up her talk about his legacy, not realising she thought so highly of him and all while helping to inflate his ego even more. Then she suggested he dance with everyone, “Everyone? Tori you only had to ask if you wanted to dance with me.” Then he offered his arm, “Well alright I’ll start with you then. Care to dance?”

Tori felt her eyebrows shoot up as he spoke and a delighted sound left her body. Oh really now? she thought, a smile tugging at the corners of her lips as he told her he thought of her more as coconut, which really was quite a lot better than vanilla actually and she appreciated him for saying so. "Coconut?" she pretended to ponder it because it felt like she shouldn't accept it out right. This was a very serious designation after all, and from the headboy it felt weirdly like a promotion. "Hard exterior but sweet inside?" She could take that, better than vanilla honestly. She wasn't really a vanilla fan anyway, she had always been more of a strawberry and honey kind of girl.

She thought of him in a pistachio suit, and honestly she could see it. “Though if you do show up as pistachio next time, I’m holding you to the full pastel green. No half-commitments in dessert couture.” she laughed then because she was getting a little too into this whole dessert thing and she didn't really need to. And then he told her she only has to ask if she wanted a dance with him and whilst she did she hadn't really expected one either, so she laughed lightly, her expression the kind of smile from a student to their mentor, because that was kind of what he was. Headboy, Quidditch Captain, Duelling Champion, there wasn't much to dislike about him and though she'd been gone for a year of the time, she'd thought about him often enough that she'd wondered what advice he would have given her for all kinds of situations. Mostly she imagined he would have told her just to go for it and she appreciated that immensely. Especially now.

"You're so cheesy, Mr. Headboy. Would you be like this if you ran for Minister? Bet you would," she said, before taking his arm with zero hesitation. She didn't think Stefan would mind and she flashed him a smile and a hand signal that told him she would come back for him when this was done, because they intended to be here all night and she certainly wouldn't be dancing with Teddy the whole night, so they had plenty of time. She pulled them gently towards the dance floor, so he didn't have a moment to rethink this. "And we have a great song playing too, what are the odds," she said lightly before she laughed.
