Annika had developed something of a habit when it came to the things people in her life told her very explicitly not to do, first it had been the incident on Bleak Street that had resulted in her brother physically dragging her away. Well, maybe it wasn’t quite so dramatic, but thats how she likes tho think about it, because it makes her brother seem meaner than he was - of course Kael-Oppa is plenty mean without her help, but it’s for posterity. She can use it when he dies. The next thing she did was annoy the ever living sh!t out of her brother’s roommate, despite being explicitly told not to do that. She hadn’t talked him around yet, but she was sure she was close. Of course the next thing on her list was the Forbidden Forest, after all, it was right there in the name. No one would actually call a proper forbidden forest forbidden right? It was like that didn’t know how kids operated or something. Tell them something is off-limits and they would head straight for it. She had help though, the two girls from her previous foray into trouble AKA her very best friends, would be tagging along, or accompanying her, whichever of the two stories fit best. She wasn’t stupid enough to go it alone, she was a Nightray after all. “Are you ready?” She asked, turning to see the two girls trailing her. They had also asked Eulalia to come, but it was up in the air as to whether or not she would show. "It's Halloween, so everyone should be in the hall, which should give us some time."

Astrid was of the impression that it was her best friends that were tagging along with her little adventure to the Forbidden Forest. She had gotten along well enough with both Isla and Nik on their last little escapade which Astrid had thought was a complete success. Considering their mission success rate, Astrid had no choice but to think that it was perhaps nice to have a team even if she had always thought that Daddy was so cool working solo on his missions. But that was okay because Astrid was only eleven and she could grow into solo missions eventually. For now, baby steps. Besides, the Forest was huge. They'd cover more ground with more people right? And if they get caught, they all just had to scatter. Astrid came in all black of course - jeans and a shirt and a thin jacket because the night air could still be chilly, all the better to use in the darkness of the night - she hadn't really thought about what to do with her blonde hair though. She considered pain, but she didn't really know where she could steal borrow some black paint in the castle. She was humming softly as they walked in the Forest - as if she was in the mythical woods rather than what was termed a forbidden forest. Same thing anyway right? "I hope we find something cool because otherwise it means that adults are just stupid for naming this forest as Forbidden." Maybe they'd find some interesting creatures?

Ruby hadn't particularly been enjoying the Halloween feast, lots of food that she didn't like the look of and too many people. She had thought about checking out the spooky tent, but the queue to get in had put her off. It was all too much so she left for air. Getting air had turned into a stroll, which had become a walk out onto the lawn. She was just minding her own business when a group of other first years were making their way into the forest. They weren't being particularly subtle in their intentions and were hoping for enough time to find something interesting in the forest, which in turn interested Ruby. She followed behind them, catching them up. "HEY!" She shouted, not really being aware of the volume of her own voice, "ARE YOU GOING INTO THE FORBIDDEN-" She realised she was talking quite loud, shouting basically, and quickly toned it down to more of a whisper, "Forbidden forest?" She asked, "And can I come?"

After their adventure in Bleak Street, Isla had been hoping to be reunited with the girls again, and as luck would have it, she had ended up in the same house as Astrid, so at least they only had to coordinate with Annika to get up to hijinks. They decided Halloween was the perfect time to sneak off the the forest because everyone would be busy, which Annika repeated as they came up on the first line of trees to signal the entrance to the forest. Isla wasn’t nervous, why would she be? It was just a forest after all. They were just about to head in when an unexpected voice came from behind them. “Say it louder I don’t think the headmaster heard you,”
