Naveen wasn't sure why he was here. He had recently decided he didn't care for Valentine's day. It was a lot of pressure for something that was as serious as romantic entanglements. It made people do ridiculous things all to prove something that didn't really matter. So what if you had a boyfriend or a girlfriend? It wasn't like you'd be together the next year. He had been grateful for the Wild Patch event to keep him busy today even if it had meant he was forced to participate in the spectacle of the day. He had been tempted to boycott the dance as some kind of statement but the only thing worse than being single was being single in his room...with his cat. Instead he braved the great hall with its overwhelmingly pink decorations and stood in the corner to say at least he had showed up.

Cassie had decided to go to this dance alone, she'd gone to the Yule ball with Felix but figured she should make the most of the time she still had left. Stepping into the room it looked very... pink. The Gryffindor smiled because she loved all shades of red, though pink might not be her favourite of the bunch it was still pretty and very fitting. As she walked further she spotted a boy she knew from that game of spin the bottle, he'd also been in some of her classes during the first semester.

Making her way towards the boy confidently she settled next to him and observed the room. "Naveen, right?" She asked glancing sideways to the boy. "You mind if I join you? Unless you are waiting for someone of course, in which case I can leave." Cassie asked hopefully, she'd come alone but there was no way she was going to be sulking around all on her own during the night. She wanted to at least hang out with someone if not dance and the lone Hufflepuff seemed like a good choice.

Naveen was chewing on the inside of his cheek when a girl in his year approached him. She was a transfer, he knew that much, but that was about it. He gave her a cautious look when she seemed to know his name, why was she paying attention to him? "Yeah that's me." he said and straightened his posture slightly. Nothing she said seemed to be that alarming but he couldn't help but wonder why someone as pretty as she was wanted to hang out in the corner with him. He rubbed the back of his neck and shrugged. "I don't mind and I'm not waiting for anyone." he said plainly.

Cassie smiled brightly at the boy. She'd made it somewhat of a task to figure out the names of her current classmates, one way or another, but she was pretty sure many of them still didn't know hers. Which frankly she didn't mind too much. "Lovely, your not a fan of the festivities of the day then?" She asked looking back towards the dance floor crowded with well couples and what not and since this boy had decided to reside in the corner that was the only guess she had in her pocket. "I sort of think its quite charming, but all the snogging I have seen today is a bit much." She said, not meaning anyone in particular just that everywhere she'd gone she'd seen someone snogging someone. Not that she'd be much better herself if she had the chance probably but still.
