Caleb had always appreciated the clarity he got when he made his way to the cliffs. The danger kept him sharp in a way he never felt stuck in a classroom. The wind whipped at his face and despite the summer looming just out of reach it was a bit chilly all the way up here. He looked down for a sizeable rock. One that would be quite bad to skip across the lake, because that wasn't what he was planning on doing. He may not be very good at homework but practicing spells was another thing all together. The exploding charm had been a fun one to learn and one he was eager to get very good at just in case there was a rematch against Celia in his future. Finally he found a rock and tested the weight in his hand. He got read and took a step back before stepping forward again an using the momentum to throw the rock as hard and as high into the air as he could. Quickly he grabbed his wand and cast the charm, testing not only his skill but his aim. Thankfully he had gagued it right and there was a cracking sound and now bits of pebbles were now fall down. "Woo!" he shouted and felt a rush of adrenaline. He wondered how long he could keep this up until someone boring came a long and told him off.

As the weather was finally warming up Manaia was enjoying being able to spend more time outdoors, picking spots out in the gardens to hole up with his guitar and relax. His search was interrupted by a loud cracking noise and he looked over, deciding to see what had caused it. He made his way to the cliffs, guitar case strapped to his back as he made his way up. He grinned when he spotted Caleb, heart giving its familiar flutter at the sight of the Slytherin. "Hey!" He said cheerfully. "What're you up to?"

Caleb's footing momentarily slipped when he heard a voice join him. Thankfully he wasn't that close to the edge but it still sent his heart racing, and when he saw it was Manaia it didn't slow down all the way. "Oh hey." he said and straightened his posture. "I'm just-" he started but wasn't sure what the other boy would think of his destructive activity. "Practicing some spells." He let the silence grow between them until he finally cleared his throat. "What are you doing out here?"
