Lily was pissed.

She paced the length of the living room, in front of the fireplace, furious with her husband. Well, really, at this point in her pregnancy, she couldn't pace. She waddled with her hands rubbing her lower back. In reality, she should be sitting down with her feet up like Sumner had told her to do before he forbade her from leaving the house and then left for Quidditch practice. He had a point and that was what made her all the more livid. Sitting around the house when she was as big as a house was not her idea of a fun afternoon. Lily wanted to be out shopping with her sister niece in law, Estrella, in New Zealand. Since the move, they had only been back once to see her family there. As much as she loved their new home and their neighborhood in the wizarding community in Minnesota, she missed her friends and family. Today, she was supposed to floo over to Estrella's house and do some shopping together, one last big trip out before the baby came. Yes, Sumner had a point. It was very close to her due date and she could feasibly go into labor at any minute. Still, she wanted to get out of the house.

Quickly, Lily made her choice. They might have a huge fight when she got home, but by Merlin she was going to go. Grabbing her purse from the chair she had thrown it in, she made her way to the kitchen counter and wrote a quick note to her husband before waddling back to the fireplace. Tossing in a handful of sparkling green floo powder, she yelled out Estrella's address and stepped into the flames.

When Lily burst into the living room, Lydia was crouching behind the armchair. The three and-a-half year old was eating her mother's stash of jelly slugs in secret. Peeking around the corner, she noticed the witch who'd popped in unannounced. "Hey, Lily!" Lydia shouted, emerging from her hiding spot and hugging the woman who looked like she'd swallowed many quaffles. The girl then realized she still had the bag of candy in hand. Grinning impishly, she concealed the evidence behind her back.

Lily stepped out from the fireplace and dusted herself off. She still was not used to dusting off quite as much body as she had now. Suddenly, she heard her name and looked up just before she was attacked by one adorable little girl. "Hey, Lydia!" she said with a smile, noticing how she was holding an open bag of jelly slugs. Lily bent over and whispered in the little girl's ear. "Give me some of the slugs and I won't tell your mom a thing."

Lydia thrust the bag into Lily's hands. Better that the older woman take the responsibility; besides, her mother couldn't give the visitor a time-out. The little girl eyed the jar sitting on the mantelpiece. It contained a powder- floo powder, to be exact- that Estrella had forbade her children from ever touching. Lydia had yet to try and open it. "Izza baby a girl or boy?" she asked her godmother, still studying the container of dust.

"Did you bring those slugs all for me?" Estrella commented as she wandered into the living room, grinning at her sister-in-law, "you didn't have to." She observed Lily's bulging belly. Perhaps it wasn't the best idea for the two mothers to go shopping today, but on second thought, there wasn't any sense in sitting around and waiting for Lily to pop. Estrella beamed at her friend; she was glad that Lily had made the trip. Thank Merlin for nannies and small favors.

Lily had not been expecting the whole bag of slugs to be shoved at her, but she grabbed them quickly and tipped a few into her mouth. "Thanks sweetie," she mumbled out, her mouth full of the gummy sugar treat. It was absolutely the opposite of polite to talk with her mouth full, or to do what she was about to, but really she didn't care one iota. Estrella had just walked in as Lydia asked about the baby. Turning to her former roommate, she mumbled out, "What? These slugs?" then opened her mouth to show the partially chewed goo that was now there. Lily's face quickly became one of faux innocence, well practiced over years of misbehaving.

Estrella rolled her eyes. Between Lily and Sumner, their kid had no hope of joining civil society. Their nieces and nephews would be barbarians if the Drage couple had anything to say about it. "I'll let the nanny know she'll be watching five today- two toddlers, two kids, and a really big kid. As for me," she smirked, "I'm going shopping." She was sure Simone could handle the job.
