Corey hated studying. It had to be said frequently. He absolutely hated it. There were many reasons of course. He wasn't unreasonable - especially when it came to hatred. Hate is such a strong word - and emotion. Reason number one was definitely because he couldn't understand a thing. He understood the words of course. Words make sense. It's the words strung together that usually didn't. Next reason would be it involved too much staying still. He didn't want to stay still - there was just too much energy in him for that. He was too used to being active and while he did use to study before going to Hogwarts, he didn't do very well either. Third would be there was just too many things to focus on! Why couldn't one just focus on Charms and let that be that. Nooooo, they had to do Transfiguration and Herbology and History and Potions and can't a guy get a break?! Well, sum that all up and it would explain his hatred for studying. And yet, there he was, in the Courtyard, with his book on Defense Against the Dark Arts and with flashcards to help him study. Being out of the Common Room and Library was helping a little. It still wasn't going very well of course, but at least he was trying. Now if he could at least figure out how or why jinxes and hexes were different, that would be great. He wished he'd brought Roxas along to help.

There was a point in Rai's life where he'd wondered how he and his brother were related. Riku made sense of course, because he was just like him, and they were both in Slytherin, so that made perfect sense, but Roxas? How had that happened? He had to wonder because sometimes he would look at his apparently identical brother and see nothing of himself or Riku. It was like there were just no similarities there at all. It didn't help any that Rai bullied him, or that Roxas allowed himself to even be bullied, so that was clearly on him and not Rai, but he couldn't just be there looking out for his brother all the time especially when they weren't even in all the same classes all the time, all he had was this. He and Riku shared a dorm and so he and Riku could influence each other, but, Roxas? Sitting at the table with those silly dorm mates of his? It was ridiculous honestly. He rolled his eyes at the thought, someone needed to toughen his brother up and he wasn't just about to allow just anyone to do it. That would be stupid. As he walked into the courtyard, he noticed one of the very Hufflepuff's he'd been thinking about, who appeared to be studying. Maybe this would be a good opportunity to see what all the fuss was about. "Hey, you," he called, heading into the Courtyard. "Wouldn't it make more sense to do that in library, or whatever?"

Corey was having a crisis. Not like it was new really. He was always having a crisis whenever he was attempting to study and it was always worse when Roxas was not around to help. The flashcards were kind of helping but it was really slow-going. He was just about to give up really, he wasn't making any headway with figuring out this jinxes versus hexes things. "Roxas!" Corey explained looking more relieved than ever. Well, at least until Roxas decided to tell him that he should be studying in the library. Corey couldn't even completely keep the scowl from his face at even the slightest thought of going to the library. "You know the library doesn't help at all," he practically sulked before looking back at his flashcards. "I don't get it," he complained, just like he always did with Roxas. He was much better with explaining what was happening after all. "I get curses but not jinxes and hexes," Corey was practically glaring at his flashcards before turning his attention back to Roxas once more and handing him the flashcards. "How are they different?" He wasn't sure whether he was pleading or sulking at this point really, he just wanted to get what was going on.
