Thalia was finding it a little boring without all her sisters around, as lessons had yet to start and she was wondering just how much reading she could do before next week before her brain exploded. She enjoyed learning, loved it in fact, but maybe not to this extent. It was a bit much, really, so she knew she had to stop before she started hating it. Today was another day where she was alone, without Teodora, and Thalia began to wonder where on earth her sister went half the time. She was going to have to ask her twin to bring her with her next time. So she wouldn’t feel as though she was being left behind, or something. The girl sighed, maybe she could just wander around the castle and hope she would either run into her, or hope she wouldn’t run into anyone she found scary, intimidating or mean. She didn’t have it in her to argue or to be mean back, it just wasn’t who she is. When the Ravenclaw found an abandoned classroom, she peered inside, but no one was there. She sighed in relief and slipped inside quietly, leaving the door slightly ajar behind her, not thinking much of it. Hopefully, no one would bother her here. She sat on a desk and opened her notebook, and continued to write her short story, or maybe novel, it was undecided if she was going to make it longer than a short story. Thalia has all types of imagination and ideas for it, and she couldn’t wait to see what became of it.

Chloë was happy to be back at school. Her first year had been fun but her second year had definitely been better and she couldn't wait to see what her third year would have in store for her. It better be good. One of the main things she had been focussing on was the hope that this year she would be assigned a better older sister at Heta Omega. The girl she had been paired with last year hadn't been any fun at all. Not even in the slightest. Perhaps this year she would be paired with someone that was actually nice, someone she could actually be friends with. Speaking friends, in the couple of days she had been back at the castle Chloë had already managed to hang out with quite a few of them. If she had to make a list of things that brought her joy, spending time with her friends would definitely be way up there. The now third year had been taking a little detour on her way back to the common room, wandering around one of her favourite corridors in the castle and happily greeting the portraits on her way through. As she passed the abandoned classroom Chloë peaked inside as she normally would when the door was slightly open. There was no way she could pass it without doing so. Her curiousity would always get the better of her. She noticed a girl inside, sitting there all lonely. Not knowing whether the girl would be willing of any company, but having started the new year with fresh hope and a will to make more friends she still decided to enter the room. "Hi!" Chloë shot her a friendly smile when she walked in, coming to a stop after a few steps into the room. "Whatcha doin'?"

Thalia looked up, a little startled at having heard a voice speak, she hadn’t expected anyone to come in here, not really. Although she kind of blamed herself for leaving the door open even if only slightly, but then again she needed some sort of light. Her wand wasn’t going to produce enough of it. The classroom was rather dark and the lights didn’t seem to be working. It took her a moment, but she returned the girl’s smile. She was curious, and Thalia briefly glanced at her notebook. "Hi," she said timidly. "Oh, I’m just...writing," she told her, trying not to shy away from socialising. She slowly needed to get used to being around strangers without her twin sister. It wasn’t easy, but she could do her best. It wasn’t like she was surrounded by a group, and the second year didn’t have much of a reason to shy away from a friendly conversation. "My name is Thalia, what’s yours?"

Chloë wondered why anyone would be sitting in the dark and musty room by themselves. She definitely wouldn't, or if she did she'd leave the door wide open to let in as much light as possible. However, she was also smart enough to realize that there might be various reasons why the girl had only left the door ajar. "Cool." She nodded when the girl told her what she was doing. "What are you writing?" She followed-up her question with another one. Chloë was curious, always had been, and it just so happened she was also on the look out for a new hobby. She had proven not to be able to really keep up with her dancing whilst she was at school so perhaps something that seemed a little more available at the school would work better. She just had to find out what else she liked to do. "I like your name, it's pretty." The now third year smiled when the other girl introduced herself, before returning the favour. "I'm Chloë."

Thalia eased a bit when the girl was just curious about her writing, and not judgy, but for now the Ravenclaw was too shy to show anyone what she'd written. She had been told she had some talent, but she was unsure of that herself, she was always so self-critical of her works. She gave the older girl another small smile, "Oh, it's just a short story," she told her, making the pile of papers neater. "I don't think it's that good, though," she added, mostly to herself, unable to help it. It was true, she hadn't written in a while, only going back to it at the end of the break. She blushed lightly when the girl complimented her, and told her her name. "Thank you," she said with a smile. "I like yours too. It's nice to meet you Chloë."

Chloë had never considered writing as something she'd like to do herself. She honestly even seemed to forget it was something people did for fun, which was strange considering there were clubs for that at the school such as the Hogwarts Monthly. "Well that's definitely not the right attitude." She shook her head at the younger girl before asking her another question. "Do you like writing?" She liked encouraging people to do what they like. Who cares if the girl might not actually be good at it? As long as she's having fun with it that's all that matters in her opinion. Being good at writing is a matter of taste anyways. "Thanks." Chloë smiled at her before wiping a little dust off one of the tables and sitting herself down on top of it. "So," She said as she observed the girl for a second, trying to decide what year she'd be in. "Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm guessing you're a second year? Mainly because I don't see any first year casually hanging out in this classroom like that just yet." She chuckled, pretty sure she'd be right. The girl certainly wasn't older than she was and if they'd be in the same year she would've reconized her so this was pretty much the only option that made sense. Unless she was a transfer student.

I’m so sorry for the delay!
Thalia felt a blush form on her cheeks, and she tucked another strand of her hair behind her ear. She knew that self-criticism was a common thing amongst writers, not that the Ravenclaw really called herself a writer. She wasn’t like, professional, or anything. She could hardly say that she was one. But it was a hobby, and until she tried writing for the school paper, Thalia didn’t think much of her stories. Of course, her family had told her she was talented, however it always took a lot more than compliments for Thalia o feel confident about her writing skills. She did find it a little odd that the other girl asked her if she liked writing, well she was writing right now, but she simply nodded. "I do, it’s my favourite hobby," she replied. She felt herself getting slightly more comfortable around Chloë, the more they talked. She was friendly. "Yeah, I’m a second year, are you a third year or older?" she asked curiously. She chuckled, "yeah, I don’t remember hanging out in here last year."

Chloë nodded when the girl said she did like writing. "Then you shouldn't worry too much about it." She smiled at the younger girl. "As long as you're enjoying it that's all that matters, right?" She stated it more than she asked, but still she was curious to know whether the girl would agree with her. Plus, she was a firm believer in not bringing yourself down about something you enjoy doing. "Third year." Chloë replied once her suspicions about Thalia being a year younger were confirmed. She liked meeting people from different years and houses, always willing to expand the circle of people she knew and could possibly hang out with. She chuckled when the girl said she didn't remember being in the room in her first year. Personally, she couldn't remember either. She knew she had been to the room on multiple occassions in her second year, but her first year not so much. "So," Chloë looked at her, figuring she might as well get to know a little bit more about the girl now they were talking anyway. It wasn't as if she had anywhere to go and it didn't really matter if she'd be hanging out here or in her common room. Although, the latter might be more comfortable. "Any other things you like to do? Clubs you're in or wanna join?"

Thalia thought about what the older girl was saying and she nodded. "Yeah, I guess you're right," she said in agreement. It did make sense. But still, she wasn't really confident enough to show anyone else besides her family her stories. That was partly why she had joined the school paper this year, she wanted to write something different but hopefully what she wrote would give her some confidence. "I actually signed up for the Hogwarts Monthly this year," she told Chloë. She was also hoping that people wouldn't think much about her future articles, as there always seemed to be plenty of them in an issue from what she remembered. Thalia gave the girl another nod, she figured she would be older as she didn't look like a first year. But at least she was only a year older than Thalia which was reassuring. The Ravenclaw didn't have many friends to begin with so it felt nice to be able to socialise with someone without her sister around. "Well, actually, I've been encouraged to join both the school paper and the sisterhood, so I'm part of both of those clubs. I also tried out for Quidditch and managed to get on the team," she chattered, which was a little unusual for the second year. "What about you?"
ohmylord i just realised they're both chasers hehe

Chloë smiled at Thalia when she said she might be right, her smile growing slightly bigger when the girl mentioned she had signed up for hogwarts monthly. "That's cool!" She said, excited that after mentioning liking to write she would get to do something with that. Chloë liked the clubs at school. There weren't many, but there were a couple who gave kids the option to do something they liked and gain a little community in the process. "No way!" She exclaimed when Thalia told her the other things she would be doing outside of class since they had two out of three in common. "I'm in Heta too, it's nice." She happily smiled. She liked the club, but she did hope she would get a better sister this year. Not that she was going to mention that as she didn't want to discourage the ravenclaw from being in the club. "Plus I got a spot on the Gryffindor team as well." Chloë beamed, still proud of the fact that she would now be part of the team and in a starter position too. "What position do you play?" She asked her curiously, before mentioning her own. "I'm a chaser."

Thalia smiled at Chloë as she seemed excited for the Ravenclaw which was actually nice to see, from someone who wasn't related to her. The second year was even forgetting about her fear of socialising the more she talked to the other girl. It was much easier though because like she had reminded herself a gazillion times before, not to mention earlier on during this conversation, it was just her and another person. She grinned at her new friend when she said she was also part of the sisterhood. "That's really cool!" Thalia agreed with a nod. "I'm joining Heta Omega with my twin and younger sister," she added just for good measure. If Tee and Em met Chloë (and they probably were) Thalia was sure they'd love her new friend. She was so friendly. The brunette really had no idea what any of these clubs were going to be like but she trusted her older sister Artemis and her judgment. Despite Artemis herself not being part of...anything at the school, actually, and Thalia had been at least surprised when she found out. Thalia'a eyes widened a little when Chloë then said she got a spot on her house team. "We'll be competing then," she said and could hear the nervousness in her own voice. She tried not to mind any attention to it though. "Oh, I'm a chaser too!" Now she was looking forward to Quidditch even more!

Chloë hadn't expected to make a new friend this quickly in the new year, but she was starting to like the other girl and could definitely see them being friends. She wasn't as out there as Chloë was but that wasn't a bad thing and she was glad when she noticed the other girl started to get a little less timid as their conversation continued. "Ah, so you guys just wanted to add even more sisters?" She joked when Thalia mentioned joining with her twin, which she made a mental note to ask about later because how cool was that, and their younger sister. It made her wonder what having real sisters would be like, although it always seemed like it would be a lot more drama than she had with just her brother. "And what a competition it'll be." Chloë smiled when Thalia sounded somewhat nervous about it, but she was glad to hear the tone in her voice change to excitement after she found out they played the same position. "Yesss, that's so cool!" She chuckled, getting excited for quidditch all over again. "What about the rest of your team? Do you like them so far?" She asked curiously. Chloë didn't know much about the other teams or their dynamics since so much has changed for all of them and it typically made her curious. Ofcourse she would see when the games started, but for now she just wanted to know the other girl's thoughts.
