Pearl was back at school, her break had been boring, her father was interested in what she had to say but was ultimately boring. he had other things he needed to do, people he apparently suddenly needed to speak to, even though he'd never been one to speak to people. But Pearl didn't care, she was happy to just be in the school again. She had so great new outfits and was very much looking forward to all of the celebrations that they were going to have. Pearl had gone outside. The girls in her dorm were dull and though it was lightly raining Pearl had put on a jacket and taken her bright pink umbrella and gone outside. it wasn't raining too hard. so she just wandered around the grounds. It was quieter out here than it had been in the common room.

Ethan had made peace with the fact he was stuck here at Hogwarts and New Zealand as a whole for a few more years. He still wasn't happy about it but he might as well make the most of it. It was raining lightly which didn't bother him much. Rain usually meant less people outside and more chances of seeing creatures that tended to be on the shy side. He left his notebook safely in his room, not willing to risk it getting wet, and would just have to commit everything to memory until he went back inside. So far his search wasn't very successful and it quickly got worse when he angered a cluster of leaping toadstools and he swore they were chasing him across the lawn. "Sorry!" he shouted when he realized he nearly ran into someone. But they were the last thing on his mind as he swatted away another toadstool.

It seemed Pearl didn't have to do much for something fun to appear in front of her. A boy, who seemed vaguely familiar almost run straight into her. And of course Pearl reacted by screaming. She kept it short, not wanting to draw too much attention to them. "Look at what you've done!" she exclaimed loudly, shifting the umbrella to be held by the arm and not her hand and she held out her clearly fine clothes. "You've soaked them!" she added, her exclamation only increasing in volume from the previous one. She felt sure that she knew this boy, had almost certainly seen him before, but she didn't exactly care about anyone, or care enough to learn most people's names. So whoever this boy was, wasn't yet readily apparent to her.

Ethan's heart nearly stopped in his chest when he heard the person he ran into scream and for the first time he actually looked at them and he felt his stomach drop. Oh no. Not her again. How did this keep happening? The toad stools continued to jump up at him and he was too distracted to swat them away or continue his retreat. He winced when she yelled at him and gestured to her clothes that looked dryer than his. "It's raining." he mumbled, confused about how her clothes being soaked was his fault.

Pearl twirled her umbrella between giving over exaggarated gasps as if it was causing her to panic even though as the boy rightly said. She wouldn't be able to sit down. "You soaked me!" she just retorted. "Take me back to the castle," she held out an arm, for him to take to help her back to the castle. She had no reason to do any of this, but it was just the opportunity that she had and she was bored.

Ethan jumped a little as she yelled again and he was about to reach out to take her outstretched arm when he came to his senses. So far it had been easier to go a long and apologize than to argue with her but he had had enough. It wasn't his fault and she was completely fine. He shook his head. "N-no." he stammered. "Are your feet broken?" he asked. His heart was beating fast as he tried to stand his ground. "You're fine. You can get back to the castle yourself."

Pearl didn't really care what he was saying, it wouldn't matter what because she was just over reacting for the sake of it. Literally had actually happened. Pearl hadn't been certain that he would say anything to her asking to be taken back, but he seemed to be catching on a little. "You've soaked me, likely causing me to get just so sick, and you won't even help me back to the castle," she spoke loudly clearly outraged by it, though falsely. "It's true what they say then," Pearl added.
